By the time Ronald snapped out of it, Felix and Nancy were already gone.

"Damn it! They're like the beauty and the beast. What a waste of my time!"

Ronald had completely lost interest in Nancy. He had two principles when it came to women: they either had to have both beauty and a great figure, or if they were slightly lacking, they had to be untouched.

Nancy wasn't stunning enough to truly captivate him, but she had kept herself well- guarded. Such a pity.

Inside the taxi, Nancy's heart was still racing wildly.

"Did that work?"

Nancy nodded. "Yes. I looked into Ronald's preferences. It should be fine now. I'm sorry for not giving you a heads-up earlier."

Felix sighed inwardly. In a situation like this, where the man clearly had the upper hand, Nancy was still apologizing.

"It's alright. It's fine as long as we avoided trouble this time."

There was one thing Nancy didn't say. That kiss had been her first. And to her surprise, she hadn't felt the slightest discomfort-in fact, she realized she had truly fallen for Felix. But life had its way of complicating things, and that was all there was to it. After dropping Nancy off, Felix gave the driver a new destination. "Sir, please head to Ruby Manor."

The driver's expression shifted slightly. "Sure."

Having driven taxis for over a decade, this was his first time taking someone to Ruby Manor. How could he not be surprised?

"What's the matter? Do you have anything to say about Ruby Manor?"

The driver jumped in surprise. "No. It's just that Ruby Manor has always been shrouded in mystery. People coming and going from there don't usually take taxis. That's why I reacted this way."

Felix didn't press further.

When they arrived at the manor, he was astonished. Unlike other families, the Ruby family had built an entire skyscraper by the banks of Riverport Bay as their base of operations. Considering Aleshire's sky-high real estate prices, this building alone was worth an astronomical figure.

As Felix stepped out of the taxi, the grand entrance was already open, and Rosalyn emerged to greet him.

""Mr. Zeller, thank you for coming."

"I'll be charging a consultation fee this time. So, no need to be overly polite."

Rosalyn had intended to explain something, but seeing the look in Felix's eyes, she swallowed her words.

"You Rubys sure know how to live. Building a whole skyscraper like this..."

Inside, Felix glanced around at the courtyard filled with luxurious structures, thoroughly impressed.

"My grandfather has always appreciated the bustling city life. When he became the family patriarch, he bought this land and built this skyscraper as our family's home. Stepping outside feels like being part of the lively streets." ""Well, that does make sense."

After some hesitation, Rosalyn lowered her voice. "Mr. Zeller, tensions have been high in my family lately. If anyone says something to offend you, I hope you'll be kind enough not to be bothered."

High tensions were to be expected. The Ruby family had held the top position among the Eight Great Martial Families for years, only to be recently dethroned. Any family in their position would be in a foul mood.

"Got it. I understand."

As Felix stepped inside, he was taken aback. He finally understood what a grand hall truly looked like it was spacious enough to drive a car through and even perform drifting stunts. The entire first floor seemed to have been converted into one massive hall,

Not far ahead, three young men approached with expressionless faces.

"Rosalyn, is this the so-called miracle doctor?

"Yes, Reid. His name is "

Rosalyn's words were cut off by the man raising his hand. Reid Ruby shot Felix a frosty glare.

"You want to see my grandfather and treat Rosalyn? First, you'll have to get past me. I haven't been feeling well lately. If you can treat me, you can go upstairs.

"If not, then save us all some time and get lost. Did you think the Ruby family was so easily fooled, like some common folk?"
