Felix's expression darkened as he looked at the three young men, their faces filled with contempt.

"Is this how the Rulay family treats their guests"

Reid, the so-called fourth brother, spoke again his tone still arrogant, "How we treat guests in the Ruby family is none of your business. If you've got the skills, prove it and make us step aside willingly instead of running your mouth." Felix sneered and turned to Rosalyn. "Your fourth brother, is it? Either he apologizes to me, or I leave right now. Did he think just any Tom, Dick, or Harry has the right to question me?

Rosalyn panicked. She hadn't expected things to escalate like this. "Mr. Zeller, please wait!

But Felix's remark completely enraged Reid.

"Hah! Talking big on the Ruby family's turf? You want an apology? Fine! I'll give you a chance. Apologize to me now, or you won't make it out of this house.

No elder had stepped in so far, which clearly indicated that these three had been given permission to act as they pleased. Even though Rowan had agreed to meet Felix, the attitude of the rest of the Ruby family was now painfully obvious. "Reid!" Rosalyn was furious. This was her own brother, and he was going too far. " Grandfather already agreed! Why are you still blocking the way?"

"Rosalyn, shut up!" Reid snapped. "You're naive, inexperienced, and easily deceived. Grandfather indulges you too much, letting you mess around like this.

"But we can't just stand by and let a fraud into the family. It'll tarnish the Ruby family's reputation if he meets Grandfather, regardless of whether he's real or fake. Do you understand that?"

By now, Felix understood the situation.

"Rosalyn, I'm leaving. The Ruby family, one of the Eight Great Martial Families? Not so impressive, after all."

It was clear Reid wasn't planning to let things go. But just as he took a step forward, the sound of hurried footsteps filled the air. Everyone turned to see a group of elders approaching, including Richard Ruby, the vice patriarch and Rosalyn's father. "Dad! What's going on?"

Rosalyn immediately thought of Augustus Crayden, the patriarch of the Crayden family, another of the Eight Great Martial Families. Only someone of his stature could warrant such a reception from the Ruby family.

Had the rankings been closer, Rowan himself would have gone out to greet him.

By the time Rosalyn snapped back to reality, Felix had already reached the doorway. She hurried after him. "Mr. Zeller!"

As for Reid, his eyes flashed coldly, but he stayed silent. A distinguished guest was about to arrive. Thus, continuing to provoke Felix now would only invite ridicule.

Felix didn't stop walking. He had no intention of continuing to deal with the Ruby family. Initially, he thought the trouble might come from Rowan, but even the younger generation was insufferable.
