The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
With Husband 643
Chapter 643
A while later, Yvette and Felix showed up.
"Margaret, this is my nephew, Felix Zeller," she introduced Felix.
Felix greeted Margaret for Yvette's sake.
"Felix? You look like a fine young man. I've heard about the incident at the scarf boutique. It's all Ronald's fault."
Ronald offered an apology, saying, "I didn't know you were older than me. Consider us acquainted after that fight. Sorry about that."
Felix absentmindedly answered him.
It seemed like Margaret had since enjoyed a better status in the Sullivan family. It was either that, or Shaun was highly respected in the family. Otherwise, Ronald would never apologize.
Felix regarded himself as having dealt with people from all walks of life. He believed in his judgment of character. Ronald, an impudent man, would not say sorry unless he was pressured by someone superior. "Felix, the woman who will join us is Mrs. Walsh. She's a respectable figure in Aleshire. Since we're asking for her favor, please keep any grudges to yourself when you're around her," Yvette explained to Felix. "Got it, Aunt Yvette."
But Yvette's reminder made Ronald and Margaret upset, as they were hoping for Felix to get into a fight with Evelyn York. (1)
"What do you work as, Felix?"
"I learned traditional medicine, and I'm making a living with it."
Margaret laughed upon hearing that. "Oh, a traditional medicine practitioner, I see! Alright. I've decided for you. I'll support the opening of your clinic in Aleshire."
Yvette was thrilled to hear that. "Margaret, I thank you on Felix's behalf."
At that moment, a man who looked like the restaurant manager entered the room and mumbled something into Margaret's ear. He left the room soon after. Margaret announced, "Mrs. Walsh is here. Get ready to welcome her."
She reminded Ronald and Felix, "Remember, you two. Mrs. Walsh has been living abroad for a while now. She probably picked up the manners of some aristocrats. She insists on gents kissing her on the back of her hand when they meet. Understood?" Chapter 643
Ronald immediately replied, "Mom, don't worry. I haven't done that before, but I've seen it in the movies."
Yvette did not comment on their conversation. After all, she had only met Evelyn once, and she was clueless about the details pertaining to her. Besides, a kiss on the back of the hand was not a huge demand. As such, she did not dwell on it. Ronald was happy to see Felix nodding along.
The collision was about to happen. He thought, 'Felix, I expect you to show your fierce and indomitable side."
A minute later, a lady who was even more graceful than Margaret strutted into the room. Her pearl necklace stole the show. One could probably afford to buy a house with the price of that necklace.
"Mrs. Walsh, thanks for taking the time to meet with us."
Evelyn forced a smile. Before she could speak, she spotted Felix, and her expression shifted. "Y-You're-"
But Felix was confused at her reaction. Meanwhile, Ronald and Margaret watched on gleefully. They assumed that Felix must have crossed Evelyn before, which was good news. They did not even have to find an excuse to shift all the blame to Felix. "Mrs. Walsh, he's my nephew, Felix Zeller. Do you know him?" Yvette spoke up when she sensed that something was wrong.
She instantly introduced Felix as his nephew, ready to protect him.
"Felix Zeller!" Evelyn looked aghast when she heard the name. "I-I need to attend to something. I have to leave now."
That was all she said before fleeing the scene. Regardless of how they yelled and ran after her, she only quickened her steps.
Ronald and Margaret returned to the room with frosty faces, having lost Evelyn.
"Felix Zeller, I was kind enough to offer you help and upgrade your life, but you went ahead and offended Mrs. Walsh. Do you understand that this meeting involves tens of billions of dollars in business deals?"
Ronald blasted Felix at the right time, "You wretched man! I shouldn't have apologized to you for Yvette's sake. How could you show up to this dinner when you're fully aware you've crossed Mrs. Walsh before this? You must have done it on purpose!"
