The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
With Husband 644
Chapter 644
Who could have imagined such a thing would happen?
Yvette hurried to explain, "Margaret, there must be some misunderstanding here! Let's be honest. With Felix's status, how could he possibly come into contact with someone like Evelyn York? Besides, he doesn't even reside in Aleshire."
Felix was searching through his memory, trying to figure out if he had ever met someone named Evelyn York. In the end, the answer was clear he truly hadn't.
"Yvette, stop defending him. I think he did it on purpose. Didn't you say before that there wasn't much point in reconnecting with old relatives? That already shows your relationship wasn't that close. He's clearly looking for trouble," Margaret said, cutting her off before she could respond.
"There's no need to explain further! I'll tell Nathaniel everything about this, and I'll inform Shaun as well," Margaret declared, leaving no room for discussion.
At this point, Felix couldn't stay silent any longer. "If this is truly my fault, I'll take responsibility."
"Take responsibility?" Ronald scoffed with a mocking smile.
"What could you possibly offer? Do you even understand how much money we're talking about? Hundreds of billions of dollars! Do you even have a billion dollars? Don't try to play the good guy now. We're not fools."
Ronald and Margaret stormed off, visibly furious, but inwardly, they were ecstatic.
"Aunt Yvette, I swear I don't know anyone named Evelyn York," Felix said sincerely.
Yvette's expression was grim as she grabbed Felix's arm. "Let's go home first. This is no small matter. We need to hear what Shaun has to say."
On the way, Felix kept asking about Evelyn's identity, but Yvette remained tight-lipped. In her mind, there was no point in explaining. It wouldn't help anyway. The only option left was to see how Shaun would handle it. When they arrived home, Felix finally met this Uncle Shaun" he had heard about.
Shaun was tall and imposing, yet his eyes softened whenever he looked at Yvette. Surprisingly, he was also a martial artist-a Martial Emperor, no less.
"Dear, what should we do? I really think this is a misunderstanding. Felix couldn't possibly have offended Evelyn."
To her surprise, Shaun smiled. "It's not the end of the world. Don't get so worked up! "Felix, right? I'm Shaun Sullivan. If you're okay with it, you can call me Uncle Shaun. If not,

just call me by my name. It's fine either way."
Shaun's demeanor instantly put Felix at ease.
"Of course, Uncle Shaun. Aunt Yvette approves of you, so I naturally do as well.
Shaun burst into hearty laughter. "Good! Yvette go whip up a few dishes for us. Felix and I will have a couple of drinks.
"She's always telling me that you're the only family she has left."
Yvette was stunned. Was this really the time to reminisce? "But, dear-"
"It's really nothing! Maybe Evelyn mistook Felix for someone else, and Margaret is just using it as an excuse to stir up trouble. Trust me. Nathaniel will show up here soon, and I already know what they're after. There's no need to worry. With that, Yvette reluctantly headed to the kitchen.
Felix seized the moment to ask, "Uncle Shaun, regardless of whether there's a misunderstanding, I was the cause of this mess. I need to take responsibility. Can you tell me-who exactly is Evelyn York? I really don't know her." Shaun patted Felix on the shoulder and motioned for him to sit down. "Kid, if the sky falls, it's the adults' job to hold it up. Don't overthink things. I'm here."
Just as he finished speaking, his phone rang. The caller ID read, "Nathaniel Sullivan".
"Hello, Nathaniel."
After listening for a few moments, Shaun suddenly stood up, his expression serious. "Are you sure about this? Is Evelyn York really that influential?" Chapter 645
