The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection -
Billionaire With Husband 677
Chapter 677
"Felix, come over here!" Clement called out excitedly when Felix stepped back into the
room.
Clement had every reason to feel overjoyed-Darcy was the apple of his eye, and since he and Willow could not have another child, it felt like the entire family narrowly escaped a brush with death today.
Hence, to the couple, no amount of gratitude toward Felix could ever feel like enough, especially since they were hitting it off so well in conversation.
"Sorry, something urgent just came up. I need to step out for now," Felix said, his expression genuinely apologetic.
Clement and Willow quickly got to their feet. Clement replied, "No problem. Take care of what you need to do. We'll catch up another time."
Felix had no choice but to leave abruptly-he had just sensed a Dragonspine's energy, and nothing could take precedence over that. If he did not act immediately, it would slip out of his range
of perception, and the chances of running into it again would be slim to none.
After stepping out of the house, Felix made a sharp turn around a comer, ensuring he was out of Clement and Willow's view. Then, in an instant, he disappeared, speeding toward the direction where the Dragonspine's energy pulsed faintly in the distance. Having killed Mason earlier, Felix already knew from the Scarlet Thread technique that the Jacobs family was far from ordinary. If encountering a Dragonspine meant a chance to grow stronger, he could not afford to pass it up
When he arrived outside a particular building, the energy had stopped moving-it was stationary now. Just as Felix prepared to enter, his phone buzzed with a call from an unfamiliar number.
"Could it be Mr. Hoffman?" he muttered before answering.
Sure enough, it was Gerald. As soon as Felix answered the call, Gerald said, "Felix, someone has activated the Miracle Card."
Felix rolled his eyes. The old schemer only ever reached out when he needed something.
"Mr. Hoffman, I've noticed something," Felix said curtly. "Ever since I left the first Dragonspine in Canraville, every other one I've encountered wasn't on the map you gave me-they'd already been taken. Were you just feeding me stories for fun?" Felix was not even interested in bringing up the Madam Spring fiasco. He thought arguing with Gerald was pointless.
"Is that so?" Gerald replied, sounding completely unbothered. "Well, things change-who

can guarantee anything in life? As long as the Dragonspine hasn't been refined yet, it'll ultimately end up in your hands. Why worry so much?"
Gerald's words, as annoying as they were, held some truth. According to him, Dragons Destroyer was a technique only Felix could currently master, meaning that, ultimately, the Dragonspine would be his to claim.
"Do you have the address memorized?" Gerald asked, steering the conversation back.
This time, the Miracle Card's activation had occurred in Yartford, a bustling metropolis. The location was not some remote hideout either-it was a fairly well-known area, making it unlikely to be linked to the Elders' Council. Considering how rare and valuable Miracle Cards were, even the Elders' Council could not possibly stockpile them endlessly without immense difficulty.
"Mr. Hoffman, about Madam Spring-" Felix began.
"I'm done for the day! You've rubbed my feet for hours!" Gerald interrupted with a loud laugh. "What's that? You can rub elsewhere? Fine, add three more hours!"
Sure enough, Felix barely got her name out before Gerald was already distracted. Then, just like that, Gerald hung up.
"One of these days, Mr. Hoffman," Felix muttered, shaking his head in exasperation.
The building before him was a five-star hotel. Felix slipped inside effortlessly, his presence so discreet that no one even noticed.
Surveillance cameras would not pick him up either, which was a precaution he took in case the people inside turned out to be dangerous. If they were hostile, there would be no hesitation-Felix would simply take what he came for.
Inside one of the hotel's luxury suites, two middle-aged men dressed in black sat on a couch. On the coffee table in front of them rested a heavy-looking box.
"Are you sure this is the item they're after?" one of the men asked.
The other man smirked. "Not entirely, but we sent them pictures, and they're willing to come verify it in person. That's good enough, isn't it? Who knows, we might've lucked into something big. If this works out, we'll be set for life-breaking through to the next stage will be a piece of cake."
