But the expression on the Warlord of Thunder and Xena's faces had completely changed. If Candace had shared this information privately with only the two of them present, they might have dismissed it as a lie.

"That sounds convincing," the Warlord of Thunder said. His sharp gaze fixed on Candace, searching for any sign of deception to help him make a judgment.

But Candace seemed fully prepared for this moment. She said calmly, "I wouldn't dare say such things without proof. But I'll only share it if the three of you remain. Everyone else must leave."

She pointed at Felix, Xena, and the Warlord of Thunder as the three she wanted to stay.

"Fine," the Warlord said coldly. "If there's even a hint of a lie, I'll make sure you experience true despair before you die. Everyone else, out!"

Melissa, brimming with curiosity, gave Felix á pleading look, silently begging to stay. But Felix shook his head. Given the gravity of the situation, confidentiality was paramount.

"I bet even your government doesn't know this my husband was the Six of Hearts in the Thirteen Aces."

The Warlord's voice cut through her lament. "I'm not interested in your love story. Get to the point."

Candace collected herself and continued. "It was Chaos who told me this- there's a powerful sect secretly creating necrobound creatures. It won't be long before they evolve into Skybound Revenants." "What?"

The three of them reacted simultaneously their faces changing at the mention of Skybound Revenants.

Candace's voice rang out again, grim and urgent. "You should all know how terrifying a Skybound Revenant is. It can fly, burrow, and possess immense power.

"Necrobounds thrive on human vitality. If one of them successfully evolves into a Skybound Revenant, I'd say the death of tens of thousands of people would be a conservative estimate."
