“No I said a more pastel pink, this is definitely not pastel. This is like basic light pink.” Lindsay said sighing.

She was in an extra pissy mood today because Cory was going on a date tonight with some absolutely beautiful and I mean stunning brunette.

That, and Jax is taking me out.

“Don’t f*****g look at me you home wrecking whore.” Lindsay said furiously as I watched her yell at a poor guy.

Rolling my eyes I grabbed a fruit by the foot and headed out the kitchen rolling it open and eating it as I eyed the small drops of b***d trailing up the stairs.

Following them, I went up to the door eyeing the bloody small hand print on it and freaked. Pushing the door open, I looked to see Lucas on the floor holding his hand and crying quietly.

“Lucas! Are you okay?” I asked watching him nod but still hold his hand. B***d spilling down his arm.

Putting the fruit by the foot on the dresser I slowly walked over to him and carefully opened his hands to see the deep gash in his first and middle finger. “Oh Luke, lets go, we need to rinse that and then take you to the hospital kid.” I said turning the water on low and rinsing his hand off.

“Why didn’t you tell anyone?” I asked him watching his face in the mirror.

He sniffled, “Lindsay told me not to and then Mason said not to, a-and mommy said not to but I- I d-did.” He said shaking from heavy cries.

“Okay well you can’t keep this stuff secret Lucas, you could bleed out or lose your fingers.” I said holding pressing a gauze to it and taping his hand with the medical tape placing a clean wash cloth in his hand “Grip this.” I said watching him hold it and cry.

I nodded and picked him up, “I know, it hurts.” I said going to my room and pulling on my sandals grabbing my damn alligator purse since I never switched it out.

“What the hell is all this b***d?” Carter asked eyeing the trail, “Lucas cut open his fingers.” I said walking Lucas to the front door “Tell your mom we’ll be at the hospital.” I said shutting the door.

Jax was handing his keys to Jack and I eyed Jax “Can I borrow your truck?” I asked watching him nod and look worried.

He pulled open the back door and got in with Lucas buckling him in as I took the keys and jumped in the front seat.

Driving us to the hospital, I listened to Lucas crying and staring up at me from the mirrors reflection.

I made it to the hospital quick and parked the car while Jax carries Lucas.

We hurried inside and I looked to the nurse “Hi, he sliced open two of his fingers.” I said watching her eye the now bloody cloth.

She nodded “Okay, come with me and we’ll get him in a room.” She said guiding us to follow her.

Lucas held his good hand out to me and I took it as we walked to the room.

It was a cute Batman themed room and Jax put him on a bed while a nurse came in and took his heart rate, and b***d pressure before asking him questions and then slowly pulling the gauze off to look at the damage.

He cried and Jax and I stood beside him, he looked from both of us to his hand and then the nurse.

“Alright so we’re going to have to get started on this real quick. He’s got some heavy cuts. Was this a knife? Glass?” She asked him.

He looked to Jax and I then the nurse “It was a knife. I was trying to cut the cape off my action figure because he’s not a super hero, he’s a villain now.” He said sniffling.

They couldn’t judge cut the damn thing off for him?!

The nurse gave us both weary stares “Are you the parents?” She asked looking between Jax and I.

A thought came to my mind, it hurt. The thought that I did have a child with him, but we never got to see it grow, never got to take it to the hospital for some stupid thing like that.

“No.” I said shaking my head “I’m the nanny, he’s the older brother.” I said watching her nod.

She began writing some things down before Alison walked in “What the hell happened?” She asked softly staring at Lucas who started crying now.

“He cut open two of his fingers. He’ll need stitches.” The nurse said “Are you the mother?” She asked.

Alison nodded and moved to Lucas’s side opening his hand carefully to stare at the cut. “We’ll meet you at home.” Jax said giving Lucas a k**s on the top of the head before walking past me and out the room.

“I’ll take the cape off, don’t worry.” I said kissing his forehead.

He smiled softly and nodded.

Giving Alison a smile I headed out and followed Jax to his Hummer.

I got into the passenger seat and Jax got in the front pushing the car to start. “You alright?” He asked looking to my bloody shirt.

I eyed it, “Yeah, I was thinking we should hit the toy store, get him a couple gifts, candy. Make him just feel happy.” I said pulling the T-shirt off and looking to my black camisole under.

He nodded and we drove discussing which toys he might like. “Well I’ll get him a couple costumes, some more action figures.” I shrugged.

Jax looked to the left before turning right “Maybe light sabers.” He said smirking.

I laughed “He’s watched Star Wars?” I asked in disbelief. I mean the kid didn’t even know Scooby or the grinch.

“Oh yeah, loves Darth Vader.” He said smiling softly.

“Then I’m buying him a Darth Vader costume. With the mask that goes ehhhk khhhuu ehhhk khuu.” I said making the breathing sound and watching Jax laugh while c*****g an eyebrow.

“I am your father.” I said in his voice watching Jax laugh and smile over at me.

Sitting back I stared at the road, “When I was six I wanted to dress in Leah’s slave costume. My mom was so against it.” I said laughing lightly.

I wonder if he’s picturing Lindsay in that costume, or me.

We pulled into the large shopping center and stopped at the toy store parking and he turned it off.

Getting out the hummer, I walked inside the store with Jax and he grabbed a cart as I grabbed a large gummy bear container with tons of little gummy bears inside it.

Placing it in the cart, I watched Jax push it eyeing the store “This place would be heaven for him.” He said smirking.

I eyed him “Hasn’t he been to a toy store?” I asked Jax as I grabbed more candy including three pez candies of super hero’s putting them inside.

Jax shook his head “He doesn’t get out to stores much, moms always working, dad hates public places and we’re always busy with competitions.” He said picking up a set of dinosaur shaped crayons.

I felt sad because I didn’t have much money but my mom still took me here for my birthdays.

“Then I guess I’ll bring him for his birthday.” I said grabbing a set of action figures with removable capes, “Aha!” I said tossing them into the cart. Jax picked it up and smirked putting it back in the cart.

Going to the scooters, I hopped on one and rode it around him a few times smiling like a dork.

He laughed and watched me blushing.

I think I’m embarrassing him.

Putting it back, we went to the boys toys and I grabbed him two light sabers and Jax put two more in there smirking at me.

I picked up the Darth Vader mask smiling, “Look!” I pulled it on and watched him smirk “Does it make the sound?” He asked leaning into the cart c*****g an eyebrow.

“I’m not-” it made the sound and I laughed “Oh hey it does.” I said surprised putting it into the cart.

Grabbing the matching costume in his size I put it in the cart and Jax smirked at my hair. “Is it all over the place?” I asked watching him gesture for me to come to him.

I walked over and he began fixing my hair staring at it with focus before moving his hands back to the cart.

Turning my attention back to the aisle, I grabbed him a stuffed Grinch dog with the antlers and then a grinch costume.

I put a firefighter costume and Jax put small boxing gloves in the cart.

Smirking I picked up the mechanical fish that apparently swim when they’re in water. “That’s so cool.” I said looking to them and showed them to Jax.

He stood behind me reading it and looking interested “I like the piranha one.” He said picking it up and eyeing it.

I smiled “We’ll get you your own.” I said watching him smirk.

Putting the piranha and two other fish in the cart, we added some more action figures, sticky dart guns, an army costume with the sunglasses and helm. Then I picked out some new books since I’m so tired of reading him the same ones.

Dropping a stack of books inside, I eyed the full cart. It took us a while to get to the checkout because I was so fascinated by everything and if it wasn’t me who stopped, it was Jax.

He eyed the big box of Star Wars legos. It was the Death Star with seven main characters and four storm troopers.

“Get it. I’m sure it’s a great way to start his LEGO infatuation.” I said laughing.

Jax nodded and placed it into the cart, I grabbed the package of the little stuffed avocado that had a cute face. Putting it in the cart Jax picked it up confused, “Lindsay will probably like it, for the baby.” I said sheepishly.

He eyed me for a while before smiling and nodding. “She uh-She banned you from the bachelor party.” He said calmly.

I stared down at the little avocado feeling like throwing it out the cart but pursed my lips, “She just doesn’t want me to seduce you out of her presence.” I said wagging my eyebrows.

Jax smirked lightly, “I didn’t give you the poster.” He said looking at the cart furrowing his brows.

Turning, I walked backwards and caught eyes with a cool guitar with buttons, “What did I burn then?” I asked putting it in the cart.

He took it out and put it on the shelf “He’ll give you a migraine with it. Trust me.” He said making me nod in agreement before he continued “It was my poster of a famous fighter. I put the poster in a shoe box in the back of my closet.” He said sighing.

I nodded and watched him carefully, “Keep it.” I said waiting on a response. His eyes met mine and he nodded.

The sound of Jax’s phone ringing came “Where are you?” I heard her on the other side of the phone staying quiet.

Eyeing the cut out of Darth Vader holding his light saber out to fight, I smirked and pulled on the Chewbacca mask and a green light saber pretending to fight the cut out.

Jax laughed “At some toy store getting Lucas some presents.” He said but laughed more when the mask made the Chewbacca sound.

I laughed and lifted the mask, staring at him.

“Yeah I’ll be home soon. Get him a cake. Maybe some balloons.” He said before saying “Love you too, bye.” Before hanging up.

He put his phone back in his pocket and I placed the Chewbacca mask in the cart with the light saber and grabbed a storm trooper costume too.

“Let him have choices.” I said eyeing the full cart.

Eyeing the Darth Vader cut out, I pursed my lips and grabbed it.

He laughed “It’s not for sale.” He said but I laughed one short laugh “Everything has a price young padawon.” I said smirking at him.

Jax smirked and I finally got to check out and he helped me out everything on the check out counter. “Oh I want that.” I said pointing to the stick with the dinosaur head at the end, it was one of those that the Dino chomped down when you pressed the handle.

The cashier nodded and grabbed the red one scanning it and bagging.

“Your total is seven hundred and thirty six dollars.” She said but before I could pay Jax put his card in.

I scowled “Hey, you already busted your bank buying a date with this idiot.” I said pointing to myself.

He smirked at me and typed his pin. “Worth every penny.” He said smiling softly at me before putting his card back in his wallet and putting the wallet in his back pocket.

We headed out the store and I put two quarters in the machine getting a cute little ring.

Pulling the ring out, I slipped it on my finger flashing it to Jax “She went to Jared’s.” I said smirking.

He smiled and eyed the little blue hearted ring, “Must’ve costed a fortune.” He said acting impressed.

I smiled and helped him load all the bags into the truck.

We drove back to the house and Mason came out with Carter to help us bring in all the bags.

“Holy s**t did you guys buy the entire store?” Mason asked looking for a spot to put the bag down in Lucas’s room.

I began pulling it all out and putting it around the room for him “No but I would’ve.” I said laughing.

Jax smirked and took the empty bags from my hand and helping me pull the toys out.

Fifteen minutes later, the room was filled with toys, costumes and the Darth Vader cut out that stood by the books.

“I got the balloons.” Lindsay said moving in and eyeing the room with wide eyes “Wow, its like its his birthday.” She said laughing.

Grabbing the bloody action figure off the floor, I took it out the room and down stairs using the scissors cutting the cape off for him and rinsing it. Putting it on the small table by his bed, I watched Mason eat my fruit by the foot.

“That was mine.” I said laughing.

He smirked “Not anymore.” He headed out the room.

Taking two balloons, I tied them to his rocking chair and Lindsay looked at me “Are you guys still going out tonight?” She asked looking between Jax and I.

That’s awkward.

I eyed Jax “We can do another night. I’d rather stay with Lucas.” I said watching him nod in agreement.

Lindsay nodded “Alright, I got him an ice cream cake and since he likes burgers, although I am appalled by it, I already told the Coleen to make them for dinner.” She said before rubbing her belly.

I grabbed a handful of blank paper and some markers.

Drawing an eye, I detailed it and then added a heart on the next page and then the letter U.

Lindsay eyed the small avocado on the dresser, “Oh this is so cute.” She commented.

I looked to Jax and then her, “Jax said you’d like it. It’s yours.” I said watching her smile wide and turn walking to him and kissing him.

Yup, that hurt.

Heading out the room, I ordered some pizza and went to the donut shop buying him six bottles of juice with the cool cartoon character heads.

Taking them to the house, I put them in the fridge and the front door opened “He’s home!” Mason shouted.

Smiling I shut the fridge and headed to the front door to see Lucas being held by Alison and looking sad.

“Let’s go get you into bed and you can rest a little.” Alison said unaware of the fact it’s full of balloons and toys.

She put him down and he slowly walked around the room looking at all his toys and then looking at us before picking up the grinch doll and holding it to his chest and then staring up at the Darth Vader smiling wider.

She smiled at Lucas and leaned into the door sill as he sat down and watched all his toys but ran to the small table picking up the action figure and smiling wide and looking to me. “He’s a villain still, right?” I asked.

He nodded and ran to me, I knelt down and he gave me a big hug. This was all I wanted, these hugs.

“Why Don’t I read you a book and you can go take a small nap as when you wake up we’ll have pizza and burgers for dinner. Then for dessert, Lindsay got you a special treat.” I said watching him smile over at Lindsay who smirked at him.

He smiled and nodded at me.

Picking him up, I walked him to the bed and Alison grabbed him some cozy sweat pants and a new t-shirt changing him while I grabbed a few of the new books.

“I got some new choices.” I said holding them up to him.

He hurried over while Alison pulled his pants up and he looked at the books with wide eyes, “That one.” He said pointing to the LEGO Batman book.

I nodded and put the other ones down watching them slowly go back to their own things.

Alison stood by the door with her arms crossed over her chest, her eyes watering before she smiled and ducked her head walking out and shutting the door behind her.

I laid in the bed reading to Lucas and he fell asleep towards the end. I put the book down and pulled the blanket over him and headed out the room quietly.

The sound of Alison’s cry came from her the living room and I stayed quiet.

“It’s not fair.” She said sniffling.

Benson sighed “I know, it’s not.” He said low.

Alison cried softly “She deserves better, she-she wanted this so bad, she wanted a child Ben.” She let out a shaky breath.

“She’ll have one, she’ll have as many as she wants. If she decides not to ever have a man, we’ll pay and have a doner. She will have a child I swear it.” He said making me smile and run my hands up my arms holding back a cry.

Alison sniffled, “Any of them, whichever she wants. Any of the boys are hers. I don’t care. She can have Mason if she wants. Ben I want to keep her, forever. I want her in our world, forever. I can’t lose her again.” She said softly.

I dropped my eyes and looked over at Carter who stood in the door sill leaning into it and c*****g an eyebrow at me and gesturing for me to come into his room.

He walked over pulling me into a hug, and I cried softly, “I want it Carter, I want the family. I want children and a husband with a father and mother who cherish me. I want it.” I said holding him tighter.

The door opened and Emily held a tux, but stopped and looked at us in shock “Sorry for interrupting.” She said and I shook my head “Oh no it’s okay, I just needed a shoulder to cry on.” I said laughing lightly and looking to the tux.

“Have fun with your date tonight. Hope you make her proud.” I said watching him him laugh and take the tux.

I laughed with him before going to my room and letting my face calm.

Twenty minutes later, I headed out the room and eyed Amanda who was fixing Masons tie. “If you get lucky, don’t forget a condom. If you forget one, think of Lindsay and what the outcome would be.” Amanda said watching Mase.

He smiled widely at her and I watched him fall more in love “You’re so perfect it’s scary.” He said.

She shrugged “I have my moments.” She tucked two condoms into his pocket and he smirked at her leaning down and kissing her.

Mason hurried down the stairs and I watched Amanda look to me and smirk “Time to get some sugga daddy d**k.” She said laughing.

I rolled my eyes “Location on.” I called to her and she nodded hurrying to the front door.

Going down stairs, I headed to the kitchen smelling the burgers and pizza.

“Oh it got here?” I asked.

Colleen nodded “Yeah, about ten minutes ago.” She said smiling.

I looked to the door as it opened. Olivia walked in and smiled at me, behind her was Steven.

“Oh, little munchkins.” I said smirking.

They smiled and I closed my eyes smelling the air and looking down at them “You smell that? That’s the smell of happiness.” I said nodding.

They smelt the air and nodded.

Alison walked in “Oh some of his other friends are coming too. I ordered three more pizzas, Colleen make seven more burgers.” She said smiling.

Colleen nodded and smiled at Olivia who walked over and stared at the grill.

“Lets go see if Lucas is awake.” I said watching them nod happily.

I headed out the kitchen and up the stairs Nathan, Max and the evil Beatrice all stood by the stairs looking at us as we walked over.

I smiled at them and led them upstairs. “Come on.” I said pushing open his door and seeing him eating gummy bears while he looked over his new books.

“Lucas..” I smiled and watched him turn smiling at me “I got so many new toys.” He said excitedly.

Pushing the door open, his friends popped in one at a time smiling and waving at him while looking at all his new toys.

Lucas got even happier and I headed to my room grabbing a pair of scissors and the trash bin. “Alright let’s start opening.” I said sitting on the floor.

Lucas brought me the package of many action figures and I opened it cutting them out.

Thirty minutes later, I had opened every package and my hands ached.

“Alright be safe. If anyone needs anything just call for me.” I said heading out the door with the trash and a big box.

Taking the trash down the stairs, I went to the front and Jack hurried over taking it from my hands and smiling, “He enjoyed all his new gifts?” He asked.

I nodded “Oh yeah. I’m worried I won’t get him to come down and eat his food.” I said laughing.

Going to the kitchen, I grabbed a slice of pizza takin a few bites before it was taken from my hand. I went to hell but smirked at Alison who was on the phone taking a bite and eyeing the window.

“Yeah the fifth.” She said handing me the pizza back.

I took it and c****d an eyebrow at her watching her head out the door.

Grabbing one of the bottles of sprite, I turned and stared at the doorway seeing Lindsay eyeing me over annoyed.
