048

After the five laps, they had to do 50 sit ups, 50 push ups and 50 squats. That was just to warm up. But it was showing who was the weakest and who could handle it.

I was standing next to Noah the whole time, not saying anything.

He's actually been to a warrior camp where I am thinking they trained just like this. So this wasn't unusual for him. Besides, he was only going to choose the best warriors to protect the border and me. That was his main goal, so I knew that he would be the best person to train them.

Once they actually got into one on one fights with each other, Noah and I would demonstrate with each other before the others would pair up to try the same moves.

I was surprised that not all the warriors in training didn't know how well trained I was.

I mean, I am the princess which means it's practically a given. Of course I would have started training young. Not to mention the fact that I have three fathers who would absolutely make sure that I felt protected at all times. Even if that meant that I had to protect myself.

I saw Lucas and Levi pair up together and even though there was a couple of years between them, that didn't matter here. Lucas is 22 but everyone training here is being trained at the same pace. So age didn't mean anything at the moment.

But the second I saw Lucas flip Levi over and had him land on his back, I knew that Lucas wasn't playing around.

They may be brothers but they looked like they were out for blood.

Noah didn't step in to stop them, even after he told them that they weren't to have any contact today. They were only meant to be learning techniques. But he let them beat the hell out of each other.

Honestly, Levi didn't really stand a chance. They made that obvious very early on in their fight. The rest of the fighters were looking at Noah and myself. I guess they were expecting us to split it up, but we didn't move. We stayed there and watched.

Actually, I was checking out how well they could actually fight. Noah just wanted to see them beat each other unconscious.

I stayed at training until lunch time before I headed back up to the castle but Noah ordered two guards to go with me and stay with me at all times.

I had to go into the office so they stood right outside the door.

The cook brought some lunch to me and closed the door on his way out.

I turned on the computer so I could start going through the pack directory and once I found

the number I was looking for, I picked up the phone and dialed it.

"Hello." The man snapped.

"Is that how you always answer the phone, Alpha Nathan?" I asked.

"Who is this?" He asked.

"Emma, You might also know me as Princess Emma. Princess of Dragons. You can take your pick." I said.

"Your majesty. I am so sorry. What can I do for you?" He asked.

"Well, you can tell me how things are going in the Dark Wood Pack?" I asked.

"Oh, everything here is just fine." He said.

"Right. Are you sure about that?" I asked.

"Why wouldn't I be? I mean, I don't have a reason to lie to you Princess."

"Actually you do have a reason to lie to me. I believe his name is Alpha Xavier." I said.

I could hear Alpha Nathan holding his breath the second I mentioned Xavier.

"I don't think I really know what you're talking about." He said.

"Sure you do. He's blackmailing you because he wants to destroy my pack and territory and

the throne itself." I said. He didn't answer me after I spelled it all out for him. He obviously

didn't know that I knew anything. But that's the problem with these people. They are always

underestimating me. I don't know why they do that. It's really starting to get old and it's pissing me off. "What do you want? Do you have any idea what he'll do to me if he knows that I'm talking to you?" He asked.

"Yeah. That's what we need to talk about." I smirked as I spun around in my chair to look out the window.

Alpha Nathan started getting really nervous the more I was talking. He knew that he was

busted. I knew about the blackmail. I knew that he was meant to help Xavier try and take over my territory. But I wasn't going to let that happen.

We talked on the phone for a while before I hung up.

I stood up to look out the window only to see Noah down in the field, looking almost like an ant from where I was, still training the warriors pretty damn hard.

"Are you ready?" Maisie asked, coming to the office door.

"Yeah. Let's go." I said.

So we went to the ballroom, closing the door behind us so the guards had to wait outside. But they were professional and knew that there was a lot of stuff that happened in the castle that was above their pay grade.

When we finished I went to my room to have a shower and I got dressed in my typical baggy

shirt and shorts that I like to sleep in.

I sat under my window looking out at the woods that surrounded the territory with a lot of crap going through my mind right now.

I've been thinking a lot lately because I have been feeling so lonely. Noah has been great, but Anna and Maisie are always just about business. Most of the time, Noah is also just about business. It's been pretty lonely being locked up in this castle by myself.

So I picked up my phone and dialed a number.

"Hello." Avery answered, wearily.

"Hi. How's it going?" I asked.

"It's alright. I guess. I'm really glad that you called. Unless you're calling to say that you want nothing to do with me." She said.

"I'm not calling to say that. I wanted to say sorry."

"What for?" She asked, confused.

"I'm sorry that I've been treating you like crap because of Chloe and Levi. I guess I just didn't

like how the whole thing went down."

"You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. I told them to tell you. I really wanted to but I didn't think it was my place."

"It wasn't. They should have told me themselves and I shouldn't have put you in the middle of it. I didn't mean to. I was just so angry because of the way he treated me."

"I don't blame you. I was really surprised when I found out. But I promise, I only found out about a day before you did. And I did tell Chloe to tell you before you found out some other way. She was going to. You just beat her to it." "I know that no one can choose who they are mated to. I think it's just the fact that it's him

and her whole family just took off on me. No explanation or anything." I explained.

"Yeah. That would have hurt. I know that Lexie and Jacob are family to you."

"But you're also my best friend. I know that Chloe lives in my house sometimes and our parents are friends. But that doesn't mean that I love her more than you. Because I don't." I said.

"I love you too. So, does this mean that we're good?"

"Yeah. We're good. I wish I could come over but I've sort of been on house arrest for the last couple of weeks."

"That's fine. I can come to you, if they let me in."

"I'll tell them to let you in. Whenever you want."

"I really miss you Emma."

"I miss you too." I said, trying to stop the tears from pricking the sides of my eyes.

"Are you going to forgive them as well?"

"Oh. I really don't know about that one. I'm gonna have to give that some more time." I said.

"Which I totally get. And I'm not going to say anything to them because they believe they are going to get banished when your parents get back. I think we should make them sweat for a bit." She chuckled. I couldn't help but smirk at the idea of that.

"Yeah. That actually sounds like a plan."

"Can I come over tomorrow?" She asked.

"Sure. I'll see you then." I said.

When I got off the phone I turned to look at the door and Noah was standing there.

"Dinner's ready." He said.

"Thanks." I said.

"You're not going to reject Lucas, are you?" He asked, catching me completely off guard.

I stood up from the seat under the window to walk over to Noah. I knew that he had been worried about what I was going to do about Lucas. But he also understands what it's like to have a mate. As much as I am pissed at him right now, I can't just ignore the pull that I feel towards him.

I have been trying to keep my distance. Even when he has been hanging around, he signed up to be a warrior and just knowing that he's in the pack.

He's really been trying to make it up to me. Anyone can see that. It doesn't mean that I am ready to forgive him just yet, but I have decided that I'm not going to make that decision until I am completely sure.

"I know that you never planned on sharing your mate with anyone..."

"Honestly, I've been expecting it. And trying to prepare myself for it." Noah said, cutting me off.

"Noah. You know that if I do accept him as my mate then nothing is going to change between us. But you need to accept him as well. I can't have mates trying to protect me while they're fighting each other." I explained. "I know. Don't worry. I'll figure something out. Come and eat." He said, holding his hand out for

me to grab.

So he held my hand as we went down to the dining room and this time it was just me and him having dinner.

"Where's everyone else?" I asked.

"I thought you could use a quiet night. Not with Anna and Maisie here talking about royal duties and training." He said.

The long table only had two place settings on it with candles lit.

Our food had already been brought out so we walked over to the table where Noah pulled my chair out for me like a real gentleman.

"What's all this for?" I asked.

"What? It's just a romantic dinner." He said, looking completely innocent.

"Well, it's beautiful. Thank you." I said.

We talked all the way through dinner, getting to know each other even more than we already did.

CHAPTER 049

Noah went into more depth about why he doesn't really talk to his family. After hearing what

he had to say about them, I didn't really blame him.

He wasn't the oldest or the youngest. He was somewhere in the middle and completely forgotten about which meant he had been really independent from a young age.

I could sort of relate to that. Just because I was an only child doesn't mean I had it easy. I

mean, I am the princess which meant I was always being trained or taught different lessons

about werewolves and the royal family. It was pretty full on from when I was young.

He did mention that if he called his family to tell them where he was, they would definitely be

here in a heartbeat.

"Is that because you're mated to the princess or because they want to help in the impending fight?" I asked.

"I honestly don't know what their intentions would be. But the whole lot of them would come.

All of my brothers and sisters. They would bring their mates and their children. This castle

would turn into a damn circus." Noah said.

"Is that why you haven't told them where you are?"

"Well, sort of. I just don't have any interest in seeing them. And they haven't reached out to me once since I left. So I don't see why I should."

"I agree. If they couldn't be bothered then why should you? In my opinion they are just going to

keep letting you down if you expect too much after they haven't given you anything in return, ever." I said.

"I'm glad you understand. I didn't want you to think that I was deliberately keeping you from

them." He said.

"Noah. I trust you. You were the head of my security before my mate. I know that you wouldn't do anything to put me in danger."

So he leaned over to kiss me when he realized that I understood that he wasn't doing anything

to hurt me.

As soon as dinner was over we were about to head back upstairs when I got a phone call so I answered it on the stairs.

"Alpha Wesley. Thank you so much for getting back to me." I said.

"Well, you didn't really give me much of a choice according the message you left."

"Yeah. Sorry about that. I just had to make sure that you called me back."

"Why is the Princess of Dragons calling me?"

"Because I'm the Princess of werewolves before the princess of Dragons."

"Is that all you needed to say?"

"No. I know that you're being blackmailed by Xavier and I think we can actually help each

other out here."

"You don't know what he has on me. I can't help you."

"You see, that's where you're wrong. You tell me what he has on you, you help me defeat him

and then I give you a pardon for all of your past crimes. But believe me, if you continue with

those same crimes then you will be arrested." I explained.

"Listen, right now isn't a good time for me to talk." He said.

"You're not alone?"

"No." 

"Alright. I'll call back tomorrow. Make sure you're alone." I said, hanging up.

"How's it going? Getting to these Alpha's that Xavier is trying to use against you?"

"I don't know yet. But I'm starting to see a plan coming into place." I smirked at him.

He leaned forward and kissed me.

"You're pretty incredible. You know that." He said.

"I know." I said and he started chuckling.

So he grabbed my hand again and we ran up the rest of the stairs until we got to my room.

As soon as we got inside Noah closed the door and he pushed me up against it and started kissing me.

He quickly removed my shirt and hooked his fingers around the hem of my shorts and underwear, pulling them down in one movement so I could kick them off.

I grabbed Noah's shirt to pull it over his head. As he was still kissing me, he undid his jeans and let them fall to the ground.

I wrapped my arms around his neck while he leaned down to grab a hold of my thighs so he could lift me off the ground.

He walked backwards for a few steps before he found the other wall next to my bathroom and he pressed me right against the wall.

He started thrusting inside of me, not as slow as last time but definitely faster than last time.

He managed to hold me up with one arm while he used his other hand to cup the side of my

face so he could bring it towards his face and our lips met.

"Oh f**k. I'm getting close..." I moaned, leaning my head back on the wall.

"Come with me baby." He said.

Only a couple more thrusts inside of me before my whole body started shaking as I found my
