ROSE'S POV

"Arghh..."

Cali's voice was the first thing I heard and my wolf beast was the first person I perceived that morning even though she was still the same as me.

Cali cried out and I felt a sharp pain coursing through my head, causing me to clench my teeth in pain. My hand instinctively shoot up to tich my head, hoping to pull out the ache in my head but my action didn't help as much as I would have loved. "What the f**k happened, Cali-"

I whimpered through the mind link between my wolf beast and me.

Cali's voice broke within my mind, "Ad-adam is the f*ck that ha-happened."

My eyes fluttered open and I jolted into a sitting position way too fast to save my dignity and to prevent my head from throbbing even more.

"Ouch!" I cried out, feeling the cool air of the morning hitting my naked breasts as the cover fell off my chest.

At first, I wasn't bothered. After all, I was trying to recall how I got to my room after Adam knocked me out with what I supposed was wolfbane. When did I shift back into my human frame and did I shift after Adam injected me? Oh, dear goddess!

Did Adam see me naked?

"As much as I am enjoying the sight, I don't think I appreciate the noise the bells in your head are producing."

Alpha King Josh's voice pierced through my thoughts and pulled me out of my mind as I slowly turned my face to the side.

Tell me he isn't there and I was simply imagining his voice because I was still mad at him after what he did on the field.... Please...

"Good morning, Rose. it's a relief to see you conscious and naked, I must add."

Alpha King Josh etched and I screamed, pulling the cover over my naked chest as I stared at him with enlarged eyes.

"Screaming isn't good for your condition, Rose. can you stop!"

Alpha King Josh yelled at me, shutting me up and calling my attention to the growing ache in my head. Damn! It hurt so bad. I could kill Adam for doing this to me. Although I had endured a rough three years, I had never had to endure the effect of wolfbane... not even once in my life

"You are telling me not to scream but you are raising your voice."

I cried, holding my head as I added, "At least I have a good reason to scream. What is your excuse for yelling at me after your Beta poisoned me and after you both harassed me sexually when I was unconscious and-"

"Adam didn't see you naked, Rose." Alpha King Josh's voice came out firmly and possessively. He held my gaze, and explain further, "And I wouldn't have seen you naked if you didn't jolt into a sitting position the moment you regained consciousness."

"You didn't see me naked? But you were there when I shifted and no one thought of dressing me up? You are all perverts. You can't deny that. You didn't even detach your eyes when the cover fell off and even now, you aren't sorry-". Ayden interjected authoritatively, "Will you please stop talking?" Yet his voice carried compassion and worry.

He rose from the couch he had been sitting and strolled to the bed with zero emotion on his face, making it hard for me to know if I was in danger or safe. Regardless, I held the cover tight against my birthday suit and scooted to the far end of the bed, staying away from Alpha King Josh's approaching frame.

"As much as I want to ogle you and rip that cover off your body, I am worried about you and I care about your dignity which is why I stayed up all night with you after Tamira helped you shift into your human frame and claimed that you needed enough air to break the fever the wolfbane caused."

Alpha King Josh informed me.

"You were feverish. That is why we had to cover your body with a thin cover even though the air conditioner has been at its lowest temperature."

His voice sent chills down my spine even though I wasn't feeling the chills before despite the air conditioner.

Cali muttered, "Drop the sheet, girl. Let him ogle those bre*sts and perhaps suck them as he fondles them-"

"Shove that imagination and fantasy down your a*s, Cali. it won't happen." I retorted in my mind... to my wolf beast but contrary to my response, I felt heat pooling between my legs.

It was as if the fever had moved down there.

"That's no fever, darling." Cali chimed with a dreamy wolfy voice, "That's called desire. Burning desire-"

"Can you please stop!"

I exclaimed breathlessly, screaming out loud. Of course, those words came out in response to Cali but Alpha King Josh who also heard me scream, froze by the side of the bed.

Well, that was a win too.

I just killed two birds with one stone.

"Are you still in pain?" Alpha Josh asked with concern.

I mumbled, "Why will you think I am in pain? I just told you to stop invading my personal space."

Cali chuckled because she knew better. My body was responding to Alp[ha King Josh's body as he drifted closer to me and if I didn't stop him, it was only a matter of seconds before I pull him into my bed under the influence of Cali's fantasies... "Those are your fantasies, Rose. Don't put the blame on me."

Cali mocked.

I hissed to my wolf beast, "How I wish Beta Adam had drugged you with a special kind of wolfbane that would knock you out for three weeks straight."

Alpha King Josh unknowingly interrupted my bickering session with My Wolf Beast as he said, "Listen, Rose. I understand that you are still mad at me because of what I did on the field yesterday but I need you to know that I did it for a good reason-" If that was an attempt to apologize, Alpha King Josh couldn't get to the part where he could say "I am sorry". A knock on the door cut his apology short and he hissed as he answered the door. "Who is there?" Alpha King Josh queried curtly.

An unfamiliar voice responded, "It's Emily, My King. I am here with the items and Healer Tamira is here too."

"Come on in, ladies."

Alpha King Josh permitted while I took that chance to cover myself properly.

Tamira's familiar features came into sight but there was another female with her. The both of them came into my room, carrying bags and when I said bags, I mean more than twenty bags... I don't know how they managed to carry them all but they did. "What's going on?"

I asked, shifting my gaze from the ladies to Alpha King Josh and back to the ladies again as I waited for someone to answer the question.

"Hello." The unfamiliar female uttered, closing the distance between us after she gently dropped the bags. "I am Emily."
