The Unshackled Queen: Never Say Never -
Chapter 1983
“Peterson’s horse is acting up.
I need to catch up to him and see what’s happening,” Hannah explained.
Without another word, she accelerated toward Peterson’s location.
Maloney’s expression shifted quickly, and he pushed his horse faster, shouting, “You’re going too fast! Slow down!”
But, this time around, Hannah ignored him entirely, focusing only on reaching Peterson.
The gap between the two horses narrowed as they ran side by side.
Hannah pressed her legs into her horse’s sides, gripping the reins firmly with one hand, “Peterson! Your speed is too dangerous! Stop now!”
Despite the finish line already in sight, Peterson’s pace didn’t falter at all.
Instead, he yelled, “Don’t worry, Hannah, I’ve got it under control!”
His words, carried by the breeze, sounded faint and distant.
Furrowing her brows, Hannah yelled, “Peterson, have you lost your mind? Stop!”
“Hannah…”
Before Peterson could say more, his horse lost control completely.
With a loud neigh, it reared up, threatening to throw Peterson off!
Hannah widened her eyes and yelled, “Look out!”

She quickly released her reins, pushed off her horse’s side with her left hand, adjusted her position midair, and landed behind Peterson on his horse.
She pulled back hard on the reins, trying to steady Peterson’s position.
But it was too late.
The frenzied animal dashed past the finish line and headed straight for the barrier!
“Hannah!”
Maloney’s anxious shout from behind went unheard by Hannah, who couldn’t afford to think of anything else.
If they both were thrown off the horse at the same time, their injuries would be nothing short of severe!
Within seconds, her mind raced through her options as the horse charged onto the grassy field ahead!
“Jump!”
Hannah called out and, without hesitation, leaped off the horse with Peterson!
They landed on the grass, and Hannah rolled several times.
Feeling a sharp pain, she held her elbow and slowly sat up.
