“Are you hurt?” she asked, frowning in Peterson’s direction.

Peterson, lacking Hannah’s agility, looked worse for wear despite avoiding a direct fall.

“My leg.

I can’t seem to move it.”

He sat up awkwardly, his face covered with scratches and his clothes smeared with dirt.

A look of distress was plastered on his face.

Noticing the unnatural angle of Peterson’s foot, Hannah knew there was trouble.

“Let me see,” she said, kneeling beside him and carefully examining his ankle.

“Ow! ah…” Peterson’s face grew pale with pain.

Glaring at him, Hannah gritted her teeth and asked, “Was winning so important that you don’t mind risking your life?”

Looking regretful, Peterson sighed and murmured, “I didn’t know the horse would behave like that..

Don’t be mad.”

Taking a deep breath, Hannah replied, “Your foot is likely broken.”

At that moment, Maloney arrived, his face tense as he asked, “Are you two all right?”

Looking up at him, Hannah sighed and said, “He needs to be taken to a hospital.

It’s probably a fracture at the very least.”

“What?! Oh no!” Maloney looked from Peterson to Hannah and quickly asked, “What about you? Are you injured?”

Hannah waved him off and stood up, saying, “Just a few bruises.

Nothing serious.”

“No, you’re going to the hospital!” Maloney insisted, clearly worried.

If anything happened to Hannah overseas, Bryson would certainly hold him responsible!

Hannah, not realizing his concerns, frowned and said, “I’m fine.

Focus on getting Peterson medical attention.”

“I don’t want to go!”

Peterson’s voice drew their attention.

Looking pitiful, he sat on the floor and pleaded, “I don’t want to go to the hospital.”

Still irritated, Hannah retorted, “You want to lose your foot, right?”

While they were talking, Leif finally arrived, panting as he said, “You all are crazy, risking your lives for a win! Why on earth would you do that?!”

Ignoring him, Hannah looked at Maloney and said, “You need to take Peterson to the hospital right now.”

“Hannah, come with me?” Peterson asked.

Hannah looked at him with narrowed eyes and said firmly, “Stop being difficult, or I’ll lose my temper.

Go with Maloney and come back when you’re okay!”
