Celeste was surprised when he heard Gary's words. Nevertheless, she still wasn't happy with how Gary treated Sylvia.

Celeste didn't really believe what Gary said about Sylvia eavesdropping, but if the usually serious Sebastian was there, then Gary must have been telling the truth.

She didn't quite understand what Sylvia was thinking. "What's there to eavesdrop about? It would be so embarrassing if she finds out."

"Does she even know what that word means? Look at how shameless she was even after being caught!" Gary replied.

Celeste gave it some thought.

"She's shameless and thick-skinned. If she can eavesdrop on us, is there anything she won't do?" Gary gave Celeste a pointed look.

He felt that Celeste was a very innocent girl compared to Sylvia. God, that girl was a pain to deal with, and Celeste was way better than her.

Celeste opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out in the end.

Celeste felt that Gary's words made sense after some thought.

Sylvia did not show any remorse after being discovered as if it was a normal thing to eavesdrop.

She eavesdropped like it was the most righteous thing in the world. Sylvia was just a kid, but she was already that shameless? What a piece of work indeed.

Celeste felt both amused and surprised. She smiled and said, "Don't hold it against her. She's just a kid."

Gary scoffed. "A kid? No way. We left the country to further our studies when we were a year older than she is now."

"Either way, she's your sister. How could you be so fierce to her? Can't you be more gentle to her?" Celeste said.

"Celeste, why are you still defending her? Do you want her to hear what we're up to in the room?" Gary sighed as he gave Celeste another look.

Celeste was slightly stunned, thinking that it would be really embarrassing if her sister-in-law heard anything she did.

Celeste's face turned a healthy shade of red and then she shook her head.

Gary then smiled and replied, "That's right. You

don't want her to hear as well, right?"

Obviously, no one would like someone spying on their intimate sessions.

However, Celeste didn't say anything and just glanced at him.

Gary smiled and a teasing gleam flashed in his eye. "I don't know how long she's been listening. What did we talk about earlier?"

Celeste was astonished. She blushed even harder at Gary's teasing smile.

Gary was about to kiss her when Sebastian knocked on the door, and it shattered the romantic moment.

Gary's gaze turned lustful as he saw Celeste like this. Then, he walked forward to continue where they left off.

However, Celeste subconsciously reached out and pushed Gary's chest to stop him. "Don't mess around. What if Sylvia comes back?" Gary raised his eyebrow at Celeste's words.

"That sounds very possible." Gary lowered his volume and gestured for Celeste to be silent.

Then, Celeste became nervous as if they were the ones sneaking around.

She watched nervously as Gary walked towards the door. He pressed his ear against the door and listened carefully.

Sure enough, there was a subtle sound at the door.

Gary's eyes narrowed and they turned angry.

The stinking lass was here again.

He couldn't be rid of her, could he?

The next moment, Gary held his breath and pulled open the door.

"Ah!"

Sylvia swayed unsteadily and crashed into the room.

She instinctively wanted to reach out for Gary, but he dodged her.

"Ah!" Sylvia crashed onto the floor and exhaled angrily. "Gary! You should have helped me! Are you even my brother?"

Gary swept a cold gaze over his sister and spotted the listening device on the door. He sneered and detached it off the door before he stashed it in his sleeve. Then, Sylvia remembered the listening device she attached to the door. She looked up to find that it was no longer there.

Oh no.

She glanced at Gary again. His expression was gloomy, and he looked like he wanted to skin her alive.

Frightened, she exclaimed, "I screwed up, Gary. I'll never do it again!"

Celeste was dumbstruck by the way Sylvia came back to eavesdrop and the way she begged for forgiveness.

She hadn't expected Sylvia to come back, and she was exasperated at how the younger girl was apologizing.

How did such a cute girl like Sylvia become a peeping Tom?

"I warned you earlier, Sylvia. Do you insist on testing my patience?" Gary did not hold back this time, and he was truly angered by his sister's actions.

"I wasn't trying to eavesdrop on anything I shouldn't, I just wanted to know if you were badmouthing me behind my back to Celeste. I didn't hear a thing just now, and the door opened the second I put my ear to it! Don't frame me!"

"Frame you? How dare you say that?" Gary sneered. If Sylvia was framed, then everyone would be to blame as well.

"I'm sorry, Gary. I really am." Sylvia put her hands together in a reconciliatory posture.

Sylvia shivered at the sight of Gary's cold eyes, and she turned to Celeste for help. "Celeste, I was wrong. I won't ever do it again. Can you please pretend that this never happened?"

"Get up, Sylvia." Celeste reached out to pull Sylvia up from the ground.

"Celeste, please forgive me." Sylvia looked at Celeste with a pitiful expression.

Her eyes were especially clear and bright.

Celeste was sure that Sylvia had just done this out of boredom.

Sylvia was a mischievous kid from birth, and she was spoiled by Heinz. She was the only girl in the house, so she was doted on by everyone.

Although she was always up to no good, she never meant any harm.

Celeste didn't blame her, either. She was embarrassed that someone was listening in, but she wasn't mad about anything else.

Therefore, she still felt that Gary was too strict with his sister.

"Get up, Sylvia. I'm not mad at you." Celeste pulled her up.

Sylvia got up quickly when she heard that. Then, she turned around and stuck out her tongue at Gary.

"Did you hear that, Gary? Celeste isn't mad at me.

You're so petty, so you must have saved the universe or something in another life to be able to find someone as beautiful and kind as Celeste. If you keep being so cruel towards me, Celeste will leave you." Gary was speechless when he heard these words.

He looked at Celeste with resentment in his eyes.

Celeste had no idea how to react. She didn't expect Sylvia to tease her brother as soon as she got up, and Celeste found it extremely funny.

Celeste figured that no one had ever treated Gary this way, and Sylvia's words probably embarrassed him. However, Celeste felt that it was funny and she started laughing.

Gary frowned when he saw both women laughing at him.

He shook the listening device in his hand and said, "What are you laughing about? Sylvia, this is a piece of high end tech, and you're using it to eavesdrop on other people. I'll tell mom and dad about what you did. If you're sick in the head, then go to the hospital and get a referral to the psychiatrist."

Celeste was shocked when she saw Gary retrieve the listening device.

Sylvia was shocked and she shivered in fright. Then, she cried out, "I was wrong, Gary. I bought it online, and I was just trying to see if it works. Please give it back."

"Why, so you can eavesdrop on everyone again?" Gary asked in a low voice.

"Then toss it. Don't give it to mom."

"What for?" Gary did not plan on giving it back at all. He felt that Sylvia was going to get herself into trouble sooner or later. What if she gets beat up for doing this to someone else?

"You need to change this habit of yours. You eavesdrop on other people as well, right?"

"No, I don't."

"Sylvia, you're sick. You're mentally ill." Gary pointed at her head.

Sylvia protested, "Gary, I'm not crazy. How could you say that? I'm your sister."

"Go away, don't come near me." Then, Gary threw her out of the room.

How did Sylvia know what he said on the balcony that day? It was all because she was using a listening device. How infuriating.

Celeste was also very puzzled and she felt like she had to say something to Sylvia. Hence, she went outside after Gary kicked Sylvia out. "Celeste," Gary called out.

Celeste said, "Head back inside. I want to talk to

Sylvia." "What about me?"

"Go do your own thing, Gary." Sylvia looped her arm through Celeste's affectionately. "I'm sleeping with Celeste tonight, so you can just spend your night on your own."
