Gary looked at Celeste sadly, and his eyes were full of protest.

How could his girlfriend ignore him for his sister? It was so embarrassing!

Furthermore, his sister was still trying to provoke him. Unhappy, he said, "Get your hands off of Celeste, Sylvia. Give her back to me and go back to your room."

Sylvia ignored him and shook Celeste's arm pleadingly. In a coy voice, she said, "Do you see that, Celeste? Gary wants to be with you tonight, but can you reject him? Come sleep over with me instead." Celeste nodded and said, "Yeah, I want to talk to Sylvia tonight. Go back to your room, Gary."

After that, Celeste turned around and walked into Sylvia's room with her.

Gary was dumbfounded and the sorrow in his eyes grew.

What was this?

His sister had kidnapped his girlfriend.

Furthermore, he watched the, walked away.

Celeste didn't even hesitate at all! How cruel.

Gary took a deep breath. Displeasure flashed across his eyes, but there was nothing he could do.

Instead of returning to his room, he wandered around the corridor.

It was just eight o'clock. Had his parents slept so early?

He walked around the corridor until he reached Sebastian's door. He paused for a moment before he knocked.

Sebastian was surprised to see his brother at the door. "What's up, Gary?"

Gary shook his head. "I'm fine. I'm just wandering around."

Sebastian turned around and asked his eldest brother, "Would you like to come in?"

"That's exactly what I'm thinking," Gary replied.

Sebastian quickly turned around and returned to his room. Gary followed suit.

Sebastian's room was like his, with similar decor and layout.

Then, he sat down and looked at Sebastian.

Sebastian was also watching him.

They had a six year gap between them, but they looked almost alike. Both were quiet, and they were very dashing men.

Gary took out the listening device and placed it in front of Sebastian.

Sebastian took a look at it and raised his eyebrow. "You want me to keep an eye on Sylvia in the future?"

Gary smiled. Sebastian was smart, and he didn't have to spell it out for Sebastian to understand.

"Yup, you should keep an eye on her." Gary didn't want Sylvia to get into trouble in the future. Eavesdropping was bound to get her into huge problems in the future.

"I'll keep an eye on her even if you didn't ask me to. Actually, Sylvia knows her limits. She goes overboard sometimes, but she knows how to get out of it," Sebastian said.

Gary frowned. He hadn't noticed that Sylvia was listening when he was talking to Heinz on the rooftop.

If it hadn't been for Sebastian, he probably wouldn't have noticed that Sylvia was eavesdropping on him as well.

Hence, he could give credit to Sylvia for being sneaky.

"Don't think of it that way. Didn't you discover her today? Someone else is bound to find out too if she keeps doing this. If she runs into someone unforgiving, it's not going to end well. Plus, Ernest and I are overseas, and we can't protect her."

"You're afraid that you can't protect Sylvia, right? You're not actually mad that she was eavesdropping on you and Celeste?" Sebastian asked.

Gary smiled. How could he be mad?

After all, she was his younger sister. Sylvia wasn't a bad person.

"Sylvia is extremely bored. Her most important task is to make dad happy, but he dotes on her. So, there's not much that she needs to do. In the end, Sylvia is always on the hunt for something challenging to do, so she resorted to eavesdropping. Apparently, she wants to be a cop. I guess she's trying to master her detective skills now."

Gary was taken aback. "She wants to be a cop?"

"Yeah." Sebastian nodded.

"Does Heinz know?" Gary asked.

Sebastian nodded and said, "Dad knows, but he disagrees. He says that police work is not fit for a woman, and the Jones family can support her. Even if she finds an average husband, Sylvia has a dad and three brothers. There's no need for her to be a cop."

"D*mn, Heinz is pretty overbearing, huh?" Gary snorted. "Being a cop is great. She can make her own choices anyway."

"So, you support Sylvia?" Sebastian was a little surprised. Gary and Heinz were both domineering men, and he thought that Gary wouldn't allow Sylvia to be a cop either. Hence, Sebastian was rather astonished.

He was wrong about Gary. Sebastian had thought that Gary was similar to Heinz, and even a little misogynistic as well.

Hence, it seemed that Gary wasn't that hard to get close to.

Sebastian smiled sheepishly at Gary.

"If you told Sylvia this, she would be very happy."

After all, no one supported Sylvia's wish to be a cop.

Grace didn't agree to her wish either.

"There's no need for that," Gary replied in a low voice. "I don't need to cheer her up. She was eavesdropping on me and Celeste, and that pisses me off."

Sebastian chuckled and the two brothers chatted for a while longer before Gary left. Meanwhile, Celeste was talking to Sylvia.

Celeste felt like she had a responsibility to speak to Sylvia about what she did. The Jones family was very good to her, and she would always remember that. Sylvia was like a sister to Celeste, and she treated her as such.

"Sylvia, can you tell me why you like eavesdropping so much?" Celeste ended up directly asking Sylvia instead of beating around the bush."

Sylvia burst into laughter as soon as she heard that. "Ah, so you've asked the million dollar question. You're very kind, Celeste. You're afraid that I'll end up doing something bad. It's no wonder Gary chose you."

Celeste looked at Sylvia with her mouth agape. Sylvia was so sharp, and she could discern Celeste's thoughts so easily. Hence, Celeste became embarrassed.

She looked at Sylvia in exasperation and said, "So, you know everything, huh? Either way, I'm still curious. How many people have you eavesdropped on?"

Sylvia replied in a conspiratorial tone, "Too many. Do you really want to know? I heard that my school's principal is having an affair with one of the secretaries, but I didn't tell anyone else."
