True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz) -
Chapter 1596
"Oh, no. Once you leave for England, and she doesn't see you, she'll probably assume we broke up. I'm sure she'll be overjoyed. Then, when you come back for winter break, she'll be so surprised. Either way, I know exactly how she'll be feeling. After I had studied law and done so much writing, I've learnt a lot. I even studied a little psychology, so I can read Rowane like an open book."
Ernest sighed. Leah's life was honestly quite tough. Even with her own sister, she had to worry about being backstabbed. It was no wonder Leah felt that way, because she had a sister and a family like that. Poor Leah.
He had one hand on the steering wheel, and with his other hand, he reached out to grab hers. In his heart, he swore to treat Leah as best as he could from now on.
"Focus on your driving, don't move your hands around." Leah quickly let go of his hand. She didn't want him to comfort her at the expense of their safety. "Honestly, I'm fine. You don't have to comfort me. I'm used to it by now, it's no big deal." "It is a big deal," said Ernest. "Since she first came,
it's been three hours. I can't believe she was waiting downstairs for you the entire time. From that alone, I can tell how evil she is."
"She's used to it. When I was younger, I would get mad, but not anymore. Because now, I'm the one who angers her. She must be fuming right now."
Ernest frowned. Rowane was indeed not a very good sister.
"After all, you're much better looking than Hogan. Last time, Hogan and I often walked home from school together, so we talked quite a lot. When my sister found out, she did everything she could to screw things up, for us. She couldn't stand the idea of Hogan and I being in a relationship together. So when it was time for us to go to college, I chose to separate from them. But until now, my sister still guards against me like a thief." "Now that I have you, and she's seen how much more attractive you are than Hogan, she must be drowning in jealousy. Just thinking about it makes me want to rejoice. Do you think that maybe I'm a psycho or something?"
Not at all. A psychotic person would never have said all this out loud.
She was just being honest. It was precisely because of her direct nature that made it obvious she would never harm anyone.
But that didn't mean she was emotionless. There were times when she felt upset too.
During those times, she expressed them out loud. From this, it could be seen that she was a very straightforward person.
"You are very real." Ernest said sincerely, "Don't say things like that about yourself from now on. No one in your position would be able to remain calm."
"You're making me blush," Leah said with a smile. "It sure is nice to have a boyfriend."
Ernest smiled as he continued to drive to the hospital. When they arrived, he didn't get down right away. Instead, he reached out his hand to pinch Leah on the cheek.
Leah was taken aback. "What are you doing?"
"I just wanted to pinch you," he said.
Leah was very confused. She couldn't believe he actually reached out to pinch her.
He was ready to get off.
Following him, Leah got out of the car too. The two of them headed into the hall. Ernest was holding her hand, and his head was lowered as he gazed at her. In his eyes, a deep passion burned brighter than ever before.
Finally, he could hold the hand of the girl he loved.
He didn't need to hold himself back anymore.
Meanwhile, Leah wasn't used to her hand being held yet. She looked at him and said, "You don't have to hold my hand. I can walk on my own. I won't trip or anything."
Upon hearing this, Ernest felt a little helpless. He looked at Leah and frowned. He wondered if she had a loose screw somewhere up in her head. How could she think that he was holding her hand to make sure she wouldn't fall? What an amusing girl.
Leah's heart beat faster under his gaze and she quickly lowered her head. Instantly, she understood what was going on.
"Oh, I just realized you want to hold my hand because we're dating now. Right?"
"Took you long enough!"
"I never expected that a day like this would ever come for me. How incredible. I thought I'd at least have to wait another three years. Now I'm wondering if I'll have turned into an old lady in three years' time?" "What are you talking about?" Ernest raised his head and looked at Leah's beautiful and vivid face.
Her hair was a little messed up by the cold wind, and the tip of her nose was also blushing slightly. She was an adorable sight.
Ernest tightened his grip on Leah's hand and refused to let go.
Finally, she reciprocated back and squeezed his hand too. The two of them locked eyes and smiled.
Leah whispered, "Ernest, your hand is huge. Is every part of you this large?"
When she said this, she had a deeper meaning behind her words.
She was implying it on purpose.
But Ernest couldn't take it.
"Does this girl even know what she's saying? What part of me is she referring to? I can't believe she's teasing me right now." Ernest was humored by her question, and also deeply amazed by how he had once again fallen for her smooth-talking.
His entire body stiffened. He didn't know how to face her. Her hand was still in his, and his palms were all sweaty.
After having dropped that bomb, Leah didn't say anything more. She was looking around the place and thinking of something else to say.
From how sweaty his palms were, Leah could sense his rigidity and nervousness.
Leah secretly smiled and thought, "I wonder if I'll be able to go all the way with him before he leaves for England?"
She was cooking up a big plan to get what she wanted, and she planned to carry it out that night.
The more she dragged it on, the harder it would be for her to initiate. Before she knew it, Ernest might have to leave for England.
She had this wonderful idea brewing in her heart, but she said nothing out loud.
The two of them spent about two hours getting the IV drip. Leah had finally finished up her medication, and she wasn't required to return to the hospital anymore. Furthermore, she felt like her flu symptoms had improved immensely after getting injected.
As they exited the hospital, Ernest asked Leah where she would want to go. In response, she suggested they go to the grocer.
Ernest frowned slightly and asked in surprise, "Why do you want to go there? There isn't much air ventilation in places like that. I'm worried your flu symptoms will worsen."
"No, I'm not that weak." Leah waved her hand nonchalantly. "Let's just go pick up some daily necessities. Anyway, don't worry about it. It's not like well be in there for very long. Just take me there, please?" The more she spoke, the more coquettish her tone became.
Ernest looked at her dotingly. He couldn't fight against her cuteness, so he nodded his head with a smile. "Fine, let's go."
Ten minutes later, Ernest and Leah arrived at the grocer. He had no idea what she intended on buying. But as soon as they went in, she ended up filling up an entire cart's worth of items. While Ernest was waiting in line at the cashier, Leah suddenly exclaimed, "Oh, wait. I forgot something. Can you help me go get it?"
Ernest asked in surprise, "What else is there? What did you forget?"
"I've been craving pecans. Can you help me go grab a few bags?"
"Okay, wait for me. Don't pay the bill first, okay?" said Ernest. "Just wait here for me until I get back."
"I know." As soon as he left, Leah quickly settled the bill. She also hurriedly grabbed two boxes of condoms off the shelf and paid for those. All the while, she kept a straight face on, as if this was nothing new to her.
The cashier looked at her and smiled without saying anything.
Leah also smiled. There was an implied understanding between them, and no words needed to be said.
