When Ernest came back, he saw that everything had already been bagged.

Ernest frowned and said, "Didn't I tell you to wait for me to pay when I get back? Why didn't you wait?"

"You can pay for the pecans in your hand, I won't take that away from you," Leah said with a smile.

Ernest had no choice but to put the nuts in the bag. He picked up all the bags from Leah, and together they walked out to their car. He refused to let her hold even a single bag.

As expected, the powers of a boyfriend were endless.

When they got to the car, Ernest briefly took a look at what was in the bags. Immediately, the box of condoms caught his eyes. He instantly blushed and subconsciously glanced towards Leah.

Leah did not return his gaze, she didn't seem to have noticed that he had seen what she bought.

Ernest's heart was beating fast. He never expected that this was the reason she wanted to prevent him from paying earlier.

"Does this girl know what she is doing?"

On the way back, Ernest focused on driving. He didn't look over at Leah. The entire time, he felt his face burning hot. It was as if a single glance from her and she would be able to tell that he was acting weirdly

As expected, she noticed something was up. Leah observed him carefully for several minutes and realized that Ernest was avoiding her gaze and keeping silent the entire ride home.

Leah frowned slightly and asked, "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing's wrong with me," said Ernest hurriedly.

"Yes, there is. You've been acting weird ever since we got into the car. What's going on? Are you hiding something from me?" He had become so quiet, as if he was thinking about something. Leah was sure that there was something on his mind.

"I think you're the one who is hiding something from me!" Ernest accused back.

Leah had always been a very smart girl. Hearing this, she immediately had a realization. A cold shiver ran through her heart. Could he have discovered what she bought?

"No way, how could he have?"

"It can't be."

Leah looked at Ernest suspiciously and shook her head. Then, she smiled and replied, "I haven't hidden anything from you. If I did, it was only because I wanted to surprise you."

"It is indeed a big surprise," Ernest said with admiration. She trusted him so much that she was willing to give herself to him. That was indeed the biggest surprise he could ever imagine. Hearing this, Leah felt a little embarrassed. Now she was sure that he had discovered what she had bought. Otherwise, he wouldn't have said so.

Leah's face blushed pink when she thought about the condoms she bought. "Oh well, if he saw it, he saw it. Anyway, I bought it for us to use. He was bound to see it sooner or later." When she was together with Ernest, things always turned out unexpectedly, especially after they got together officially.

But, she didn't want to bring that up to him now, considering they were in the car.

Hence, she decided to just continue acting coy for the time being.

After that, Leah did not say another word. After parking the car downstairs, the two of them got ready to head up.

Leah was about to help carry the groceries, but Ernest said, "I'll handle it. You don't have to hold anything. You just need to open the door."

It was really rare to have such a considerate and strong boyfriend. Leah really had no complaints.

Leah smiled and said, "Just let me help you with the light ones."

"Be good, I don't need your help." Ernest smiled at her. "As long as I'm here, you'll never need to carry a thing."

"It's going to be very hard for me to leave you when you're so nice to me." Leah smiled shyly. Her heart was overflowing with happiness.

"That's the point. Even if you do leave me, I want to make sure you'll always miss me. You'll never be able to find a better boyfriend than me." Ernest seemed to have a sudden burst of confidence as he spoke. Leah was stunned and burst into laughter. "You're right. You're so wonderful. It'll be very hard for me to find someone better."

More importantly, he made her heart flutter.

"Pass me a light one, I can't go empty-handed," Leah insisted.

Ernest passed her her own bag.

Leah was speechless.

"Let's go upstairs," said Ernest.

"All right."

Leah helped him close the car door and locked the car. Then, they headed over to their building together.

Ernest followed behind, carrying a lot of bags in his hand. At the staircase, they once again ran into Rowane.

To be exact, it was Rowane who stood in their way.

She was holding a bag in her hand, and she was staring at them from the steps. Once she saw them, she immediately broke out into a smile, as if very glad to see them. "Mr. Jones, Leah, you guys are back. Dad asked me to drop by to pass you some stuff."

Leah didn't even know what to say when she saw Rowane's sudden appearance again. She even brought something over this time, claiming that their father had asked her to come here. It was really the first time in history this has ever happened.

Leah had a feeling that that was just a lie. Rowane was definitely here just to stir up trouble again.

She obviously wanted to come check Ernest out.

Seeing how anxious she was, Ernest's appearance must make Rowane feel threatened somehow.

Leah guessed that Rowane and her stepmother didn't want her to have such an amazing boyfriend. Hence, they were eager to pry on what kind of person he was like.

Their antics really left Leah completely speechless.

Leah glanced at Rowane coldly and then said with a forced smile, "Really?"

"Mhmm. Dad was the one who sent me here. He says he misses you." Rowane shook the bag in her hand and said, "I brought your favorite, strawberries."

Rowane was stunned. She looked at Ernest, then at Leah. "Don't tell me you want to send me away already? I was hoping I could come up for a chat."

As expected, she refused to leave.

Her true nature was showing.

Naturally, Leah was unbothered. She glanced at Rowane with a faint smile and said, "Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I are madly in love. We're in our honeymoon stage right now. So, I don't think it would be appropriate for you to come up and chat with us as a third wheel."

Leah's straightforward rejection left Rowane shocked. She looked over to Ernest embarrassedly and said, "How could you say that? Mr. Jones might not see me as a third wheel."

"Yes, he does." Leah answered on behalf of him. Her expression was playful yet calm. "He is mine after all. I know him well. He hates it when other people take up my time, especially when we are together. He much prefers spending time with me alone."

Rowane continued to stare at Ernest. Her gaze was expectant and pitiful.

Standing beside Leah, he glanced at Rowane briefly.

He was very taken aback by the entire situation. At the same time, his heart was in pain.

He felt sorry for Leah for having such a sister that kept causing trouble.

Generally speaking, most people would have taken the hint by now after being rejected. Yet, Rowane still refused to leave. She was putting on such a pitiful look. When in reality, she was evil to the core. He also felt sorry that Leah had to spend so much energy dealing with a sister like this.

Besides that, he admired Leah. Most people wouldn't have been able to reject someone so plainly.

Thinking of Leah's rejection of Rowane, he could not help but laugh. Then, he said, "Leah is right. Our time is very precious. There's no need to waste it on irrelevant people. Let's go, Leah. Well pass on the strawberries, I can buy Leah whatever she feels like eating."

Leah was never planning on taking the strawberries in the first place.

Leah smiled and said, "Rowane, you can have the strawberries for yourself. We already bought a bunch of snacks, so we don't need more."

Then, both of them pushed past Rowane and headed upstairs, not caring about Rowane's feelings at all.

Watching them leave, Rowane's eyes were filled with hatred. She refused to give up and shouted hurriedly, "Leah, I have something to tell you about Dad. Just give me a chance."

Leah continued to walk.

Rowane followed them from behind. This time, she became even more brazen and followed them all the way upstairs.

Leah looked at the bags in Ernest's hands and asked, "Is it heavy?"

"No." Ernest shook his head.

Leah quickly went upstairs, opened the door, and said to Ernest, "You go put the stuff down, I'll talk to her."

Rowane was right behind her. Leah blocked the entrance, refusing to let her in.

Rowane immediately smiled and said, "Leah, why

are you treating me like this? I'm your sister."

"Aren't you going to go look for Hogan?" Leah smirked as she looked at her. "Is Hogan not attractive to you anymore?"

"What are you talking about? Hogan has always been like a brother to me. I treat him the exact same way you do."

"Is that so? If Hogan knew about this, he would probably die of anger." Leah shrugged her shoulders. "Rowane, I can see through your little schemes. You don't have to put on an act in front of me. Get out of here. If not, I'm going to have to move out."

"Why would you move?" Rowane's gaze darted around, as if thinking of something.

At this time, Ernest had already put the stuff down. He opened the door and saw Rowane standing outside. He turned and said to Leah, "You seem to keep getting harassed here. Why don't you move to mine? I have a villa. You can have the place to yourself. It's really safe, and there are cleaners."

Leah was stunned.

Rowane widened her eyes, as if completely dumbfounded.

Leah did not reply. She just said to Rowane, "Leave. I don't welcome you here. I won't be visiting Dad either. I have the flu, so I wouldn't want to pass it to him. Goodbye."

After that, Leah and Ernest went inside and shut the door behind them.

"Why didn't you answer?" asked Ernest.

"I thought you were joking." Leah laughed.

"It's not a joke. I'm being serious. Why don't you move to my house?"

"No." Leah immediately shook her head. "It's not appropriate for me to stay at your place."

"Why is it inappropriate? You are my girlfriend. I should take care of you." He felt distressed just looking at her. He really didn't want her to keep getting harassed like this.

Leah shook her head. "Honestly, this place is close to school. I like living here. They won't keep coming all the time anyway. I'll just stay here for now. If it gets too much, then I'll think of something else, okay?" Ernest pulled her over and held her in his arms, asking, "Is something holding you back?"

Looking at his serious eyes, Leah nodded.

"What are you worried about?"
