Chapter 113

Julianna’s POV

“Do you feel like backing out?” I asked him, leaning back on a tree and looking into his eyes. He looked back into mine and shook his head.

“No, this is the closest that I’ll get to redeeming myself. I’m not going to throw this opportunity away…”

His fingers clenched into a trembling fist and I walked over to him placing my own fingers in his until both of them entangled.

“Whatever happens from here, just know that I’m on your side.. Chester…” He nodded.

“I know that I don’t deserve you Julianna, but thank you, thank you for sticking by me, even though I’ve been an idiot lately.”

I smiled as the dim glow of the moonlight above our heads somehow made this moment a little bit deeper and then his hands came over to my waist and pulled me to himself. Just then, we heard the sound of a car engine and we both took heavy breaths.

“It’s them…” I whispered into his ear and he nodded.

Holding my hand, we ran into one of the bushes, as the car that was carrying both Henry and Scarlet drove towards us.

After waiting for a while, it stopped right at the bridge that was leading to another park.. and from where we stood, we could see that both Scarlett and Henry were already brought outside.

I felt Chester’s hold on my hand become tighter, then both of us got up and came out of the bushes. The moment Scarlett saw us, she hissed.

“What the hell are both of you doing here?”

I smiled.

“Well, we came to wish you goodbye and make sure that you have a wonderful journey.. so considerate of us, don’t you think?”

That was when Henry spoke up, “In case both of you don’t know, your alpha king has made a contract with us that he will not hunt us down or hurt us.”

Chester nodded in agreement with what Henry just said.

“Yes, you are right he made an arrangement with you that he would not want you or Scarlet, but when I checked last, I’m the Beta of the Kingdom not the Alpha King.”

Immediately the people we had hired to pose as their accomplice grabbed their hands suddenly from behind.

Even though the night that was coming, the day was still a bit bright, and one could easily see how their faces were immediately drained of all color that was inside them and they became pale as snow.

“That’s not right! You are twisting everything to fit your favor. If you do anything to us, you’re going to be punished!”

Scarlett screamed

“Actually, I have a copy of the contract here..” I said pulling out a printed copy of the contract from my pocket and unfolding it.

“And I am sure that the only signatures here are that of the Alpha King and his mate… I don’t see my signature. It doesn’t have Chester’s either, so I’m reading that we are not breaking any rules..”

Now both Scarlet and Henry had their eyes so opened with shock that it seemed as if they were going to roll out of their sockets.

“Is there anything else you want to say, or are you out of ideas? If that is the case, then we should get along with business. It’s already late.” Chester said.

“Chester?” Henry called.

I looked up at Chester and he nodded to the people that’s were holding Scarlett and Henry

“Drown them in the river.” He said to them in a cold voice, I thought Scarlett was frantic before, but the moment she heard that, she totally lost her mind.

“What do you mean by drown them? You can’t be serious…”

I folded my hands on my chest, “well I guess you’ll be finding out if he’s serious or not in a few seconds, won’t you?” I teased her.

We were at the highway, close to the rushing river, that stood as a bridge between alpha Niyol’s pack and the neighbouring pack. People were barely passing by.

Henry was also screaming now.

“Please don’t kill me.. I don’t want to die, just kill her instead!”

Scarlett looked at him, “what do you mean by they should only kill me, don’t you care about me at all?”

“Care about you? you dumb b!tch! It’s because of your stupid plans that we are in this situation, I should have never listened to you in the first place.”

“You ungrateful bastard, I was the one who was about to make you King. If you had not messed up, everything would have been alright, you are the real one who deserves to be killed.”

I shook my head. This was actually kind of funny in a sick twisted kind of way, but funny nevertheless.

“Chester, can we get this over with already, your lover’s quarrel is becoming nauseating to watch…”

When I thought Scarlett could not even get any more shameless and desperate, she proved to me that she could really raise the bar.

She turned over, whipping her hair in the face of the person that was holding her and screamed towards Chester.

“You are really going to kill me.. right, Chester? It’s me, don’t you care about me at all, are you really going to let them do this to me?”

Chester did not react at all, he just watched as they pushed them closer and closer to the edge and Scarlett was now breathing even harder screaming even louder.

“Just stop please Chester, I’ll be different now, I won’t to try anything.”

As she was speaking, Henry had already been thrown into the river and he knocked his head against a rock immediately, bleeding out to death and the river became red with his b***d.

When Scarlett saw this, her screams became so loud that it even sent the birds into the sky with alarm.

Then I saw Chester walking towards her. I was about to ask him what he was doing, but then I decided to just trust him and see what his next action would be. Was he going to show Scarlet mercy again? I wondered, but something told me to stay and watch what he would do.

“Let’s go of her…” He said to one of the hired men and Scarlett immediately ran into his arms.

“I knew you wouldn’t kill me, I knew that you still cared about me Chester!”

Just as my heart was about to sink, Chester turned her around.

“Chester!” She screamed

“I really hoped that you will change Scarlett, that even if you were banished as a rogue, at least you would be able to live a better life than you did before, but you aren’t going to change…”

“Chester what are you doing, if you push me again, I’m going to fall into the river!”

“But this is just who you are, the heartless monster who sees everybody as a tool for her to manipulate…”

And finally she was at the edge.

“…so goodbye Scarlet…” Then as he pushed her in, she suddenly grabbed him by his leg.

“If I’m going down, then we are both going down together!”

”Chester!”I yelled.

But it was too late!
