Chapter 112

Niyol’s POV

As I held the baby in my arms, it only took one look his eyes to know that he was my nephew, Liam.

The poor thing seemed to recognise me, as he reached out with his little fingers, and I felt my b***d boil so hot through my veins that these worthless rats had actually made my nephew go through so much.

If it wasn’t for my mate’s voice that was in my head, constantly telling me to keep calm, so that the rest of the plan would flow smoothly, I would have bashed all their skulls in.

“Well it was nice doing business with you.” the snake that called herself Scarlet said as she held Henry’s hand and they rushed over to their accomplices that had been waiting for them with a car that I just noticed. And in a few moments the only thing that was left of them at the border was a puff of smoke that came from the engine of the car.

“You should have allowed me kill them…”

I said to my mate with a ragged breath and she nodded.

“You are right, if I had just gone along with their execution without going through all of these, they would have never been able to kidnap Liam…” I turned to her and tilted her chin up.

“None of this is your fault, you know that right? They were the ones who were selfish and manipulative and you were just being your compassionate self. I would not have you any other way…”

Then I looked down at my nephew wiping off the streaks of his tears.

“Come on, little guy let’s take you back to your mommy and daddy…” I said, taking my mate’s hand and walking towards our car.

In a short while, we had already arrived back at the palace and I found my sister still sitting on the floor with her mate next to her stroking her hair.

She was not even crying anymore, she was just rocking her body from side to side, her skin looked so pale like bleached bed sheets.

When she sensed the presence of me and my mate in the room, she immediately turned her head to us and then she heard the cry of her baby.

She almost catapulted from the spot that she was in her room over to us, scooping up her baby in her arms and her mate was soon rushing after her as they surrounded child.

“Oh my darling, Liam, my joy…” She said in a weeping tone and then before I knew it, fresh tears were already running down her face again as her mate held the both of them.

Then he turned over to me and my mate. “Your majesty, I’m so sorry that you had to do all these because I was not able to protect our child….”

“Ethan, that wasn’t your fault…” Koko said to him and I nodded to that.

As we were talking, my mother walked into the room, her eyes scanning the floor as if she was thinking of replacing the carpet.

Then, when Koko turned around and saw that was my mother, she immediately rushed towards to her.

“Ma what are you doing here? you are supposed to be in your room now resting!”

She smiled holding my mate’s hand and said.

“Well, there was no way I would have been able to rest when I heard that my grandson has just been found. Where’s my little darling?”

Mother had been a very key part of Koko’s plan, we pretend as if we were giving them exactly what they wanted, but we couldn’t just wave off the charges as if they never existed, because Koko was kidnapped.

So she had stepped up and offered herself as the fake culprit, so both Henry and Scarlet were allowed to believe that we were wrapped around their fingers and were just following their plans.

They did not know that the money that we had given them was fake and that a huge bounty was already been away on their heads.

After all we were the ones who promised and signed the contract not to hunt them down, which means that anyone else could do it, even if they were to survive, they would be nothing but rats running around the Kingdom.

But all of these were not over.

I just excused myself from the room, with the intention of going to look for a certain someone. My mate, Koko, noticed I was leaving and called after me.

But I just said that I would not take too long. I k!ssed her on her forehead and left. After a while, I got to Chester’s room.

However the guards at the door said that both he and Julianna were inside and they gave me enough information, even almost more than needed to me.

“Tell him, when he is out, that I need to see him and it is very very urgent, any other thing that he’s doing Can be moved aside or cancelled, but he has to come and meet me in my study…”

“Yes, your majesty!” both of them said in unison, bowing their heads.

Even though I knew Scarlett was probably blabbering a lot of nonsense, the way Chester had reacted when she referred to him was not something that I could quickly sweep under the rug.

If I had been more cautious of people, then, I would have known that Scarlett had kidnapped Koko in the first place.

Chester was my best friend and my second in command, he had been by my side for so long that I could not even remember how my life had been when he was not around. I went back to my own room to rest from the day’s activities.

As of now, my mother was still being held on the charge of kidnapping, but I would just simply hold a mock trial for her and wave it off.

As I was resting on my bed, Koko walked in and she could see the worried expression on my face. She slipped into the bed and came over to me and I wrapped my hands around her.

“You are thinking about that thing that Scarlet said, right?”

Gosh she could read me like a book.

“I really don’t want to believe it, I want to think that all the evidence is a scam… There are some misunderstandings or some detail that I’m missing…”

She didn’t say anything but just rested her head on my shoulder, as I kept talking to her and I could feel a bit of the anxiety melting away as I was stroking her hair.

“Do I just let this go? Do I let sleeping dogs lie?”

I asked her and she pondered on the thought for a few moments.

“Well, if it is bothering you this much, there is no way that you can just sweep it under the rug, the only thing that is left is to confront it… I think it is best that you have a talk with Chester to clear out all the air.”

I nodded, she was right.
