Chapter 116

Alpha Niyol’s POV

The light coming from the moon was rather dim this night, as we headed towards the bridge that Juliana had described.

As I was driving there with my warriors, I wondered how exactly Chester had fallen into the river. The Chester I knew was not exactly the careless type that was unaware of his surroundings.

Of course he would not be in the same place anymore. The current of the water would have taken him away to another direction and that was what we were planning to follow to find him, but the more we drove the more we found it harder to navigate the road.

I was wondering how they had driven so far with their car. Was there another path to the bridge that I didn’t know about?

There probably was, because at a point, I realised that navigating through the bumpy road was even going to take us longer time than running.

We parked, and came out of the car, immediately shifting into our wolf forms and howling at the moon, then bundled our clothes in our mouths.

Of course, I was the largest wolf there but, the others were large also.

When we got to the bridge we were looking around to see where the river would lead and then one of my warriors noticed something and he immediately brought it to my attention as he came over with a red gemstone necklace in his mouth and he growled spitting it on the ground.

“What is this?”

The piece of jewelry looked very familiar and he confirmed it when he said that Scarlett was wearing it when she was supposed to leave and then I began to wonder how on earth it got there…

I told him to keep it safe, that the most important thing now was to find out where Chester was.

I sent some wolves back to the palace, so that they could arrange missing posters for him around the kingdom in case anybody saw him.

We continued along the path of the river, I knew they were tired and fatigued, this was not how they imagined their night, but I encouraged my warriors in mind link to keep strong for the sake of their Beta they were looking for.

I told my gamma to stay behind, as he was the only one that could watch over the palace now that I was not available and Chester was also not available, if not he was also eager to come out, but somebody had to take care of things while I was not there.

As the night began to grow into the morning, we only had about 2 hours of sleep in a cave we found along the way.

When we woke up to resume our search, one of my warriors came to inform me that somebody had been following us since last night, he said the person that has been following me said she knows me.

Then I commanded the person be brought to my presence and to my surprise it was Julianna.

“What are you doing here? you’re supposed to be resting now.”

She bowed.

“Your majesty, I know that I have been very arrogant and I’m probably breaking some rules following you like this without your permission, but I couldn’t sit still without doing anything…”

As she spoke tears began to trickle down her cheek.

“Your majesty, I’m sure you understand what am going through right now, don’t you?”

She asked looking at me and I couldn’t denial that. When Koko was kidnapped by Scarlet and her accomplice Henry, I almost lost my sanity.

Sleep was something that didn’t come to me easily, it was as if we had become sworn enemies and the only thing I could do was worry as I searched for her, not sure if I would ever see her again.

My thought was enough to drive me mad. If anyone had told me to sit back and wait for Koko to be rescued while doing nothing, I would have gone crazy eventually.

“Ok then, but Juliana if something like this comes up again, I would like you to follow proper procedure am I clear?”

She nodded.

“Of course I’ll tell you everything…”

“Do you mind telling me how you were able to catch up with us? We left the palace when you were still unconscious in the clinic.”

“Well, actually, that was very easy, because you guys were not trying to hide your tracks, so following you was so easy. I saw paw prints, some broken branches and other distractions in the soil and that was how I was able to track your movement…”

“I didn’t know that you were that talented in tracking…”

I admitted to her without thinking, even though it sounded very ironic, because she was one of the key people that helped me to find my mate.

“Alright Juliana, a search party is not usually a comfortable one, we might sleep in a hotel today and then the next day we might be in a cave, because the search requires a lot of trouble. Are you sure you can handle this?”

She nodded

“Even though I can’t handle it, I will learn, because Chester needs me by his side right now… and I’ll do whatever it takes to find him…”

I was a little surprised. Even though I knew Julianna was very loyal to Chester, I didn’t know it went this far and I admired that about her.

We continued our search for the day and I made sure my eyes didn’t leave Julianna’s side, because of her health and she was was a woman.

Once again, our search for the day was futile and I was becoming a bit scared, but I had to stay strong for everyone, especially Julianna.

“We are done for today and we are going to be sleeping in a hotel, and of course I will make sure you have your own separate room…”

She thanked me and she gave me a bow.

“Thank you your majesty, that is so considerate of you, though I’m starting to understand what your mate meant when she said that I might inconvenience you guys a bit…”

That’s right, Koko!

“Was she fine with you coming here? She would have probably wanted you to rest…”

“Well…”

She dragged out her answer as we began to walk into town.

“Maybe she wasn’t completely happy about it, but I couldn’t stay still knowing that there was something I could do to help Chester, I hope you understand… I didn’t mean to trick her…”

She reminded me again and I could not judge her, because even if I got so injured somehow that I could only limp on one leg and then I was told that my mate was missing, I wouldn’t be able to hold myself back, I would limp along with the search party.

“If she’s still mad I’ll apologize in your stead, but I doubt that she will be.”

When we got to the hotel and check to our rooms I laid on my bed restless with lot of things running through my mind, then I looked outside and thought;

“Chester where are you?”
