Twice Rejected
Chapter 60

Juliana’s POV

After the alpha and Chester left, we started searching around the room. It seemed no one had entered the room since she left because even the breakfast was still on the table and it was stinking like hell.

I guess that was why those men ran off.

I went to the bathroom and combed every nook and cranny, yet I couldn’t pick something out. It was free from any clue whatsoever.

“Did you find anything, Juliana?” Laci asked.

I came out of the bathroom shaking my head.” Couldn’t find any. I guess there isn’t much to see here.”

“That’s not good. I hoped to find something here. I am really going to go crazy before my brother does.” Laci said, holding her head.

“It seems you like her very much even though it’s not been up to two months of knowing Koko,” I asked.

She smiled at the mention of Koko, “You will if you know her too. She is one sweet girl that had to endure a lot because she was different. I felt pity for her when she narrated everything about her life in her previous pack.”

“At first I was grateful that my mother was different from Koko’s mother who almost killed her, but now I don’t think I am lucky at all. It seems my mother wasn’t any better. As much as I want to believe that she didn’t kidnap Koko, her actions and words makes us think otherwise.”

“Don’t worry everything would be fine. I trust justice would catch up with the sinner. Justice always prevail and the guilty will be punish!” I said.

“Always? I beg to differ from your perception. It’s not always. In fact, it’s just a few times.” Laci said.

“Alright, Princess Laci. I won’t argue with you. Let’s just leave already. I will search other places she goes to.” I replied.

“Alright. Just give me a minute to make the bed. I hate seeing unmade beds!” Laci said.

“Just say you are bored and needs someone to stay longer with you, Princess.” I teased her, grinning.

“Not all princess wait to be served at all times.” Laci responded.

“Yeah. I can see you are one of them and I really respect you for that.” I told her, sincerely.

She smiled before moving towards the bed. She raised the pillows and was about dusting it when a piece of paper fell off. She didn’t realize, but I clearly saw the wind blowing it up.

“Hold on, Princess Laci!” I shouted. She stopped her movement, staring at me.

I walked towards her and bent down to pick up the letter that was on the floor now. She was surprised to see me pick up the letter.

“Did… where did the letter come from?” Laci stammered.

“From under the pillow, I guess.” I answered her.

I opened the letter and was gleeful at the content.

“Finally! Finally we got a lead!” I exclaimed happily.

“Really?” Laci asked as she collected the letter from me and read it.

Her eyes shone brightly as she read the letter. She jumped into my embrace as she began to scream on top of her lungs.

“Yes! Yes! We finally found a clue!” She said.

“Yeah. And the clue happen to be Henry.” I said, reminding her.

She stopped feeling happy and read the letter again. Didn’t she read the name of the sender before? This girl was really a piece of work!

“That’s true. How dare that bastard pull a fast one on us?” Laci became angry.

“Laci, we have to confirm if he really was the one that wrote the letter or not. We can’t just jump into conclusion yet.” I said.

“That’s true. Let’s go and meet my brother right away!” She said, rushing out of the room.

As we got out of the room, Laci narrowed her eyes at an old man that was coming out of the room. But she quickly gained her composure again, pushing the door to the alpha’s chamber.

“Brother, we found this letter under the pillow in Koko’s room….”

Laci told them about the letter before handing it to the alpha who looked surprised at the name. Even Chester was surprised too.

I guess no one expected this outcome.

We deliberated on the issue and decided to invite both the Queen mother and Henry for questioning.

I was looking forward to meeting that Henry guy.

Although everyone seemed to trust him and accused the Queen mother instead, my mind was set on Prince Henry.

I believed deep down that something would sure come up in this meeting. I was determined to find out the liar.

Call me spiritual or supernatural, I don’t care but I know it was a special gift from the moon goddess.

The thing is, whenever I saw a criminal or a guilty person, something gave me the right judgement. I mean I could tell who they are instantly.

But since we are living in a civilized society, there had to be evidence to be given to prosecutors before they can be punished.

So we needed to gather enough evidence before we could arrest him or any one involved.

Laci held my hand,” Please, bring back Koko.”

“I promise to do all I can, Princess Laci.” I answered.

“Just call me Laci,” she said, smiling.

That smile. I hope I can fulfill my mission successfully.

I didn’t know why, but something didn’t seem right around those two, Henry… and Scarlett. My instincts had never been wrong.

But since I had no evidence, I just had to be content till I found evidence against them.

The alpha had already summoned his mother and Henry. Hopefully, I might find some clues in their confrontation.

I was sure Henry had something to do with the letter and also there was a possibility that Miss Koko was lured to where she was kidnapped by the letter.

It was also possible that it might just be just a harmless letter. But we would know once Henry came.

If we could get the actual person who wrote the letter or we could get hold of that girl, then we would be able to find out the truth.

The truth about the kidnapper and hopefully get Miss Koko out of their claws. Apart from the fact that I wanted to be close to Chester, I also wanted to solve this case.

That clueless man thought I was in love with the Alpha. I wonder how he became a beta with his low EQ. Maybe it was because his IQ was too high.

“What are you thinking?” Laci asked, making me jump in fright.

“Oh my! You gave me a fright!”

She sure was nosy for a noble princess. But then again, she doesn’t act as one. That time we spent together in Koko’s room made me realize she was a down to earth person.

“Nothing much. I am just waiting for Henry’s arrival. I’m having a bad feeling about that name.” I replied.

“A bad feeling about the name? Are you trying to say that he might be the person that wrote the letter?” Laci asked.

“Yes but it’s possible,” I said.

“It can’t be, because he doesn’t have any grudge against her. In fact they were friends and he always stooped down to help her at all times. So I doubt he is involved in this,” Laci said.

“Let’s just hope you are correct. As for you mother, let’s wait to hear her own side of the story too.” I said.

Alpha Niyole stood up from the bed he was lying on and gestured for everyone to follow him to the throne room.

According to Chester, he rarely used the throne room, except on important events. It showed how serious this case was to him.

He must have really loved that mate of his.

Just as we were waiting, his mother came looking haggard. I was surprised to see the Queen mother looking like an old hag in less than twenty four hours of her dethronement.

One look at her and you would see the longing in her eyes towards the Alpha and the princess. It seemed this issue was very hard on her.

It wasn’t just the dethronement, but it seemed she missed her children more. I saw the alpha and Laci looking away from their mother.

It must have hurt like hell for someone like the Queen mother who only had her children by her side.

Somehow I pitied her because it looked like she was being accused wrongly. The evidence were too glaring. If she really wanted to kidnap Koko, wouldn’t she know how to cover her tracks?

I guess the alpha was too blinded by his rage to see the fact that his mother might have been framed.

But from the alpha’s perspective too, his mother’s threatening words were enough to point accusing fingers at her, but it wasn’t a concrete evidence.

I was waiting patiently for the main person that we needed in here to confirm the letter.

Prince Henry.

I wonder what is going to happen once he comes.
