Chapter 77

Scarlett’s POV

That night, I wore black jeans trousers with black T-shirt and black jacket then complimented it with a black canvas. Tonight, all my problems would finally be over…. Half of them though, because Julianna would still be alive, but all will be over soon.

“Tonight, Koko will die and Niyol will be all mine.”

I can’t wait for that to happen. After Koko is dead and that meddling investigator called Julianna is dead too, I will win the Alpha’s heart and become the Luna of the pack. I obviously can’t wait for that day to come.

I checked myself out in the mirror for the last time and picked up my phone. It was already getting dark. I took my black face cap and put it on my head.

“Good time for a perfect mission.” I exhaled and stepped out of the house.

I went to wait in a corner and texted Henry my location. It would be a bad name for me if people saw me walking around and dressed like this. It could also foil my plans.

Henry arrived and I entered the car.

“Where have you been?” I asked as I took off the seatbelt.

“I had to find a way past my old man.” He answered and started driving.

“Your father?” I asked.

“Yeah. He has been keeping his eyes on me lately.” Henry said.

“Hope he isn’t suspecting you?” I asked Henry and he shrugged.

“Have you tried calling those guys we kept to watch over that cursed girl?” He asked.

“Not yet.” I answered and brought out my phone.

“I think you should because I tried calling them today, but it wasn’t reachable. I don’t know what is going on.” Henry said.

“Let me try,” I said and tried their numbers, but it wasn’t reachable. What is going on? They’re not the type to flaunt our calls. “It’s telling me the same thing,” I said.

“Try again,” Henry urged me.

I dialed the numbers again, but non was going through.

“It’s not connecting.” I said and Henry pressed his lips into a thin line.

“I hope it is what I am thinking.” I said.

“Those scumbags will not dare double cross us. I’ll deal with them mercilessly if I discover that.” Henry snapped.

I’m sure they won’t dare such nonsense! Besides, we paid them a lot of money for this job. They can’t screw it up!

“I agree with you, Henry. Have you decided how we’re going to kill her yet?” I asked Henry.

“That’s a simple one. You will know when we get there” Henry smirked.

“Okay” I sighed and focused on the road. The drive was quite a quiet one till we arrived at the warehouse. Henry parked the car in a place where it wouldn’t be too noticeable and we stepped down. When we got to the entrance of the warehouse, we saw that the door was left open.

“What is wrong with these men? How can they leave the door open like this?” Henry complained, but I said nothing. I was starting to have a bad feeling about this.

“Why don’t we go in?”

We stepped in and what greeted us almost made our eyes pop out of its sockets. I had to blink and rub my eyes several times to know if I want I was seeing right now. What actually happened? I looked at Henry and he wore the same expression as me.

“Koko!” Was the only thing I could say. We ran to her cage, but she was nowhere to be found. “How did this happen?” I removed my cap and threw it to the ground.

“She escaped. Looks like a massacre took place here.” Henry said.

“But by who? Koko isn’t strong enough to kill these men?” I said.

So many thoughts ran through my head at that moment. So many questions that I needed answers to. Could they have found her and the Alpha sieged this place? Or did hunters come here? We are so doomed!

We saw two of the men moving. It seemed that they were injured and didn’t die. Henry rushed to one and grabbed him by the collar.

“Tell me what the hell happened here!” He yelled at the man.

“The hostage… Her wolf came out.”
