Twice Rejected
Chapter 78

Julianna’s POV

After leaving Alpha Niyol’s room and speaking with Chester, I pondered on all that had been happening. This wasn’t quite clear yet. Alpha Niyol got connected to Koko’s wolf? I rushed back to Alpha Niyol’s room and sat down.

“I am sorry to bring this up, your grace, but I would really need the information from you.” I said in a low tone and he looked at me.

“As far as it concerns Koko, I’ll cooperate with you. You are free to ask me any questions.” He said. I could sense the disappointment from his tone and mostly the pain.

“Okay. Please, explain this connection to me better. How did it come about?” I asked. I was really curious to know, because if any funny thing happened, my informant would have alerted me or drawn my attention. But I was yet to hear from him. I hoped he was safe.

“Well, I was told that if Koko should shift to her wolf form by any chance, I would be able to find her. I was finally happy when I felt that connection.”

“The connection? Which means she shifted to her wolf?” I asked.

“Yes. I was so happy and prepared to go find her but somehow, I don’t really know what happened, I lost it.”

“Which means that she returned to her human form?” I asked

“Yes. And that means that I won’t be able to find her anymore.” He said in a low tone and I pondered on the situation for a while.

If Koko had shifted, it meant that there was probably a fight between her and those men. This could have occured or ended in two ways. It is either the men overpowered and forced her to shift back to her human form or she escaped and later shifted.

If she was forced to shift back, I am sure my informant would inform me when he follows Henry and Scarlett to their hideout, but if she had escaped, then I would know what to do after that.

“Look for ways to find her, Julianna. Please, we can’t lose her.” Laci pleaded in tears.

I have never seen her in such a state before. I stood up and went to hold her shoulder. “I will try my best to make sure that she is found. You do not need to worry anymore. Excuse me, your grace.” I bowed and walked out of the room. I had so many things to think about and mistakenly bumped into Chester who was returning to the room.

“And where are you off to?” He asked me.

“I’m going to my room. I need to think about something for a bit. You’re already here, so I wouldn’t be watching Alpha Niyol and his sister.” I answered.

“Julianna, are you sure everything is fine? You look tensed. Whatever you need my help with, just let me know.” He said with cute caring eyes and I smiled.

“Don’t worry. I won’t hesitate to call you whenever I need help. We can have some drinks and get drunk as well.” I teased and saw his cheeks turned red immediately.

“Must you always remind me of that?” He snapped at me and left for the room.

I chuckled and rushed to my room. “Time to find Koko.” I said and brought my phone out. Oh No! I already missed the guy’s call twice. I remembered putting my phone on silence while I was with the Alpha. I quickly dialed the number. He answered the phone immediately like he was expecting my call.

“Sorry I missed your call. I was busy. Have they reached their hideout?” I asked.

“Sorry I missed your call. I was busy. Have they reached their hideout?” I asked.

“Yes. It seems to be a warehouse, but I think there is trouble.” He said and I gasped.

“Don’t tell me they killed Koko?” I asked in a horrified voice. That was the worst thing that could happen right now.

“No, but I think she is missing.”

“Missing?” That made me remember what the Alpha had said about her shifting to her wolf form.

“Yes. Scarlett and Henry found the door open and I heard Scarlett screaming Koko’s name and they were talking about how a massacre had happened around there. Also, it smells like b***d around here.”

“Oh my gosh! Text me the address of that place right now.” I ordered and hung up. I ran to my walk-in closet and picked out blue jeans and white T-shirt. I picked up my phone and car keys then hurried out of the mansion.

If Koko truly escaped, then she wouldn’t have gone far. I entered the car and turned on the ignition. My phone buzzed and I picked it up then saw the address of the place. These people are really crazy and have gone out of their minds. How could they take her to such a place?!

I drove at full speed, not caring about the traffic lights and all. They traffic control dudes can give me a ticket later, right now, I had two baddies to bring to book. I didn’t even know I could drive like that.

I glanced at my phone and turned right, heading towards what looked like a farm but to my surprise, it was just a forest. It only looked like a farm from afar. I saw the warehouse ahead and sighed then parked the car somewhere it wouldn’t be seen.

I was about to take my phone when I remembered that there was so much evidence in it. I left it in the car in case anything would happen. I was aware that this was risky, but I had no choice.

I have come too far in this case to back out. I sneaked through the bushes just to make sure that I wouldn’t be seen and saw the guy I used as my informant by the side of the door.

“What is going on in there?” I whispered to the guy.

“They are still looking for her, but I think she has gone far because they can’t catch her scent.”

“Tell me what the hell happened here!” A voice which I suspected to be Mr Henry’s boomed from inside the warehouse.

“The hostage… Her wolf came out.” I heard someone answer him.

Alpha Niyol was right. He did feel the connection because she actually shifted for real. I moved closer and peeped inside. I gasped at what I saw. There was a pile of dead bodies on the ground. Koko’s wolf might have really put up a fight with these men and since they were humans, I guess they couldn’t take her wolf down. I could see the anger and anxiety on Scarlett’s face and I almost couldn’t stop myself from laughing at her.

Henry snickered. “Do I look like a fool to you?” Henry yelled at the man.

“I swear that was what happened.”

“Koko cannot shift into a wolf. I have known her for too long to realize that. She is a cursed girl, different from every other werewolf and cannot shift. How dare you lie to me?” Henry yelled.

“He must think we’re fools right? Did you guys plan this whole set up?” Scarlet snapped. I could see the deadly glares she was giving the man. She went to the second man and pulled him up. It seemed he was also alive, but was seriously injured. “If your brother isn’t ready to tell us the truth, I’m sure you will. What really happened?”

Wow! I really couldn’t believe these were the people acting like angels and saints before Niyol and his sister. They even went as far as framing the queen mother and getting her dethroned. Alpha Niyol won’t forgive himself if he discovered that.

“Do you still have your phone with you?” I asked the guy beside me.

“Yes,” He answered.

“Hand it over. I’ll need this for pure evidence against these rascals.”

“We are telling the truth. She turned into a fierce animal and killed these men then wounded us.” The one Scarlett held answered.

Scarlett dropped him to the floor and paced back and forth. Her face was scrunched up like she was thinking of what would have made Koko shift into a wolf and do these.

I was even wondering the same thing. They might have done something really hurtful to her or said hurtful words. Wolves tend to shift when they get really angry and anything could happen so what exactly did these men do to Koko?

“I wonder why Koko would just shift into a wolf and do this as you guys claimed. What exactly happened?” Henry asked them.

“We are telling you the truth and nothing else.” One of the men replied.

“That isn’t the full story. Werewolves don’t just shift and kill. Tell us, if she really shifted then what did you do that pissed her off to the extent of her killing these men in such a ruthless way?” Scarlett asked.

The men suddenly became quiet. Why were they quiet all of a sudden? Didn’t they enjoy torturing her or did they try something else? While I thought of that, I mistakenly locked eyes with one of those men.

“Don’t ask questions, just move to the back and hide.” I said to the guy beside me and he obeyed.

“Intruder!” The man shouted.

I turned and tried to run, but Henry held my wrist and dragged me back.

“Let go of me!” I kicked him, but he held me tighter.

“So, you were the one that released Koko. I should’ve known.” Henry said while I struggled to free myself from his grip.

“Our prey brought herself to us. How wonderful! Why don’t we take your life instead of Koko’s? You’ve already known too much anyways.” Scarlett smiled wickedly at me.

The guy I was with came out and started struggling with them to let me go. Soon, we saw someone running towards us. At first we couldn’t make out who it was, but as he came closer, I realized and was a bit surprised but relieved.

“How did he know I am here?”
