Twisting Her Fate -
Chapter 158
While Leilani and Evie are talking, Connor just watches every move of Leilani. She is perfect. Every action, every word and everything she does is perfect.
Connor walks to Harvey's side, Ace is sticking close to him, one small hand gripping his father's pant leg. Harvey looks at the two together, instantly linking Connor. 'Do you think they're really your children?'
Connor finally turns his eyes to look at Harvey, dragging them away from his white blonde goddess to give Harvey a scathing look.
Harvey bursts out laughing. A DNA test would be less accurate than just a brief look. Ace is 100% Connor. He'd be surprised if there is even any of Leilani's DNA in there. Ace is just a mini-clone of Connor.
Even down to the expression on their faces. Bonnie is already down at Ace's level, introducing herself.
"Have you organized what I asked for?"
Harvey nods at the super strange request for a welcoming committee, whatever Connor asked for he has recieved. Harvey points out to the grass area in the middle near the training ring where they will hold outdoor meetings.
In the middle of the beautiful green grass around sits the stocks and pillories, the mediaeval piece of equipment looking quite out of place in the serene surroundings.
Connor nods to Hudson, who straight away conveys the message to Gabriel, who gets out of the last large removalist truck dragging a secured Simon behind him.
The group has decided that it is about time that everyone can seek their vengeance on Simon. They can't save all the t*****e just for themselves. Again, it is not a task that they want Gabriel to have to deal with when he is just starting out. **One week after reunion**
Connor kisses the two twins good night, a small smile forms on Ace's face as he clutches his father's hand, but finally sleep overtakes him and his hand gently falls away.
Leilani watches from the doorway with a gentle smile on her face. It is not possible for her to get sick of this scene. Seeing him interact with the children, seeing that love that they share makes her whole world complete. Connor walks forward, gripping Lani on the hip with a wide hand and pressing a kiss directly to her forehead.
Leilani looks up at him.
"Are you sure you don't want me to come with you?"
"No baby. You are my comfort for when I return. Where I am going, I need no comfort. All I need is my rage and my hatred. You are my reward at the end of it"
Leilani smiles as she runs her hand down his heavily stubbled jaw, looking in the steel gray eyes that look at her so tenderly even when he says vicious words and she can feel his brewing hatred.
"Okay, I will be here for when you return"
Connor kisses her once more before moving down the stairs and meeting Terrence and Levi, who are waiting in the living room.
Terrence has contributed to the torture of Simon in his own special way, but he has never been present. He has never even seen him once more since that fateful night, three years of not going to see the man. It never felt right but the moment that Connor said that he wanted to see him. Terrence knew that this was also his moment. He wants to be there with his friend. He wants to see what Connor does in this moment. He wants to be part of it.
Terrence knows that there is no better time to face his so-called biological father than with his lifelong best friend and his mate by his side. Even though Connor forgives him, he still carries some guilt around, so he wants to see what Connor does. Terrence has his little travel pack filled with serums just in case he feels like adding to Simon's pain.
The three walk straight out of the pack house and walk side by side over the grassy hill toward the dungeon. Levi uses his fingerprint to enter and Connor walks in behind. Looking around the space, Connor stares with wide eyes at Gabriel's luxurious cell. He can understand why Gabriel was slightly hesitant to actually move up to the pack house.
When Leilani tried to explain Gabriel's living situation, he didn't quite understand. Now it all makes perfect sense. How someone that is so cherished by the fusion pack could be actually still be restrained.
Connor walks past Gabriel's unused cell, as Gabriel has already moved up to the pack house and Leilani has vacated the Alpha room for Gabriel.
Leilani and Connor care little about where they are staying. As long as they are together, they could be locked in the dungeon for all they care. So vacating the alpha room to give Gabriel that true sense of home was nothing at all.
If he's going to be the alpha of the pack, he deserves to be treated as such, even when the group are still within the land.
Levi touches another fingerprint identification to get through to the next section. Levi laughs slightly as he enters the room. Connor tilts his head sideways as he looks at Simon who has his left arm attached to the left side of the wall in the top corner and his right leg attached to the bottom right corner. The other two limbs just sort of hanging uselessly and he's stretched out to the extent that his bones will allow.
"Arlo must have been here again"
Simon's eyes go wide as he looks at the two in front of him. He has been expecting his son to visit him for so long. He is repeatedly asked Astrid and Oscar about him. He realizes now that he can't persuade Astrid, he is not even sure if Astrid will even come to see him again at all. So this is perfect timing for Terrence to show his face once more.
Levi's steps straight in front of Terrence, the look on Simon's face disgusting him enough, but Simon looking at Terrence in that way? There is no way that Levi can handle such a thing. Terrence just places a hand on Levi's shoulder, letting him know to stand down, that he is ready to face this.
Connor just watches as Simon's greedy face eyes his friend in that way and he suddenly starts to think that maybe he should have taken Leilani up on her offer because this looks like a very easy man to kill. One expression is enough. Connor steps forward, releasing the man from his shackles and that is when Simon finally pays attention to him.
"If it isn't the infamous Alpha Storm"
Connor raises an eyebrow as he punches the man straight in the jaw, the sound of his own name coming out of this putrid man's mouth is nearly more than he can take. Simon just spits out a mouthful of blood as the bone in his jaw heals itself. "Are you still angry about the whole family thing?"
Simon is so nonchalant about it, his voice is so level, like he is just referring to stealing a garden gnome out of Connor's front garden instead of the murder of the entire Storm family.
Connor cracks his knuckles as he lays one of his favourite combinations on Simon; maximum damage, minimum time. Simon stumbles heavily but somehow manages to stay on his feet, but his body is filled with pain. Simon resets his ribs and arm with a shaking hand. Simon's voice is lacking the confidence it had before, but the words are just as putrid.
"You should be thankful, it helped to shape you into what you are now"
Connor closes his eyes to calm himself slightly. The image of Leilani's smiling face is enough to do that, he just wants to go back up to the pack house and crawl into bed next to her and hold her tight.
He understands when she used to tell him that she needs reminding that there is more than just terrible people in the world. Listening to this man, it is hard to remember that there is sunshine and happiness. Simon is the face, the voice, the actions of everything that is wrong in the world.
"I am meant to thank you for killing off my family?"
Connor keeps a level voice, but the tinge of hatred and disgust is clipping his tone. Terrance actually wants to throw up, the fact that he shares DNA with this man makes him want to tear off his own skin and drain all his own blood. "Sure, would you be who you are today if you weren't an alpha at a young age?"
Terrance moves quickly, punching his father in the nose with as much power as he possesses, Simon's nose bursts and blood spills down his face. Levi nods in appreciation. After all these years, Terrance can protect himself with more than just his potions.
"Shut your filthy f*cking mouth before I seal it permanently. The Storm family were amazing people. The only family that should have died is my own. Your lack of remorse when every single thing you touched turned to sh*t. I thought after all these years that you might have reflected on what you have done, but you are vile through and through"
Terrance punches Simon once again and Levi pulls him back quickly to avoid Simon when he lashes out. Simon doesn't even get close to grabbing Terrance before Connor kicks him square in the chest.
"Don't you dare touch my friend"
Connor just rains down his wrath on the man, there is nothing calculated or even skillful about his attack, just an old skool bare knuckle pummeling, Connor straddles Simon on the ground as his fists rain down on the man.
"You think I care about the prestige? Do you think I care about the pack ratings? You think I care about any of that, I would sacrifice all of it to have my family by my side. For my parents to know their grandchildren, for my brother and sister to be here, to see them find their mates, to find their happiness, to see them all live the lives they should have lived if you didn't rob them of that opportunity"
There is not a single bone in Simon's face and upper body that is not heavily fractured, blood flows freely from the man. When Connor suddenly stops and stands, he walks straight out of the cell without a single word.
Terrance looks at Connor's leaving figure to the man lying on the ground in a bad state. He grabs one of the vials out of his pack. This one contains a powder instead of a liquid. He sprinkles the powder on the man. The man that was unconscious screams as he writhes in agony.
"Just a little something to stop you healing for a bit. I want this lesson to stay with you for a while"
Levi grabs Terrance's hand and they walk out of the cell, the click of the solid door closing behind them drowns out Simon's pain-filled screams.
Connor runs back to the house. When he walks into the room, Leilani is still brushing her teeth in front of the mirror. She wasn't expecting him back so soon. Connor rushes up behind her, burying his face in the crook of her neck and wrapping his blood-covered arms and knuckles around her, holding her tight.
Leilani calmly spits out her mouthful of toothpaste and rinses before turning in his tight embrace.
"Do you need a reminder that there is still good in this world?"
Connor looks down at her beautiful face as she runs her hands up through his hair, brushing it out of his eyes.
"I do"
Leilani pulls his head down and kisses him deeply, Connor picks her up and places her sleep-short clad a*s on the counter of the vanity unit. This right here is everything that is good in the world.
