Sonia, concerned for Ariana, sent Sarah home and returned to the ward alone.

On her way, she encountered Adrian and Jennifer, who were also on their way to visit Ariana, along with Tyler, who had just finished handling matters at home and rushed back.

“When Sarah and I visited, Ariana was in good spirits.

“It’s natural for her to feel weak after just waking up.

With some rest over the next few days, she might recover without the need for a special medication.

“You’re exaggerating,” Adrian said, shaking his head with disapproval.

Moss had administered different drugs to both of them.

Although the substances varied, Adrian could empathize with Ariana’s suffering.

Without an effective cure, Ariana would still feel discomfort.

Previously, Moss had treated Ariana as the primary subject of his experiments, leading Adrian to suspect that the drug Ariana had been injected with was likely more intense.

“Be quiet!” Jennifer snapped, placing her hands on her hips and glaring at him.

“Why did you curse Ariana?”

“What?” Adrian was momentarily stunned.

“I didn’t curse her.

I merely questioned whether she could recover without specific medication.

Besides, Sonia said Ariana was okay apart from being physically weak…”

Jennifer pinched his arm once more, causing him to wince in pain.

Adrian felt on the verge of tears.

He didn’t know what he had done wrong.

Fortunately, Sonia and Tyler intervened.

They pretended nothing was amiss and deftly changed the subject.

“For the sake of Sonia and the others, I’ll let you off this time,”

Jennifer said, pointing at Adrian with pursed lips.

“Stay behind me.

Don’t speak out of turn in front of Ariana without my permission!”

” Adrian complied and stood behind her, not daring to say anything more.
