Wedding Day Vampire -
Chapter 16
Dear Diary,
From the very first day I became a vampire, I hated my life and I always thought that God was punishing me for still choosing to work in the tavern even though he did not like it. I stayed in that empty cave alone with nowhere to go after leaving the town. During those lonely days it felt as if death would have been a better option, because there was nothing happy or interesting about life anymore. Until my sister, Dana found me. I call her my sister because from the very first day I met her, that is all she has been to me. She gave me a home with a nice big room, she gave me comfort, she gave me love, and she took me on so many wonderful adventures. It was on one of our adventures that I met a pixie who gave me this diary I am writing in today. I never thought I would be able to keep a diary, but it turns out that this is a magic diary whose pages never wither. The pixie says I can always come to collect another one if the pages ever run out, I know I’ll be doing that soon because I have been writing for years now and still, I never get tired of writing here. I love this diary because it is the only place I know I can keep my thoughts if I don’t want my nosy vampire family to spy on them as no one else can see what is written here but me. Don’t wait too long for me, I’ll be coming back to write here soon.
Love,
Marylin.
Joana had been reading Marylin’s diary for weeks, and was already begging to get frustrated because ever since she had been reading, this was the only tangible piece of information she could find, and it wasn’t even about the supreme council. She had only a few pages left and she hadn’t even gotten to the part where Marylin was with John. She hoped that this diary would at least give her a clue as to where she could find the next one, as Dana said that that was the only diary Marylin had left here, and it was only because she had already finished writing on all the pages. She took the other diary along with her when she left to be with John. How sad Joana felt when she heard this, it would take forever to find the other one, if she still couldn’t find any piece of information in this one, she would just have to search for the supreme council on her own and not rely on the information that Marylin found.
She would start from the thousands of books in the study. She wasn’t much of a reader, so it would be a hefty price to pay for someone like her. She prayed that the last pages of this diary would at least bring some clues.
While she was reading Marylin’s diary, she had also continued her vampire training with Derick; under Dana’s supervision of course. He had taught her a lot over the weeks; he first taught her how to read minds, by channeling her vampire energy to penetrate into one’s thoughts. One could only read the thoughts of a vampire, but could not erase or control it, like they did with the humans. He had taught her how to do all of that. He then took her to a town close by where she could practice what she had just learnt on a human there, and she successfully hypnotized someone, only temporarily though.
Her next set of lessons focused on controlling her thirst for b***d. And the best way to do this was through patience, Derick placed the bowl of b***d in front of her while she was hungry again but unlike the last time, she wouldn’t be chained or restrained. The goal of this practice was that the resistance to take the bowl this time around would come from within her, and not from the chains that held her. She failed the first few times but with more practice, she was able to hold on for longer periods of time.
The lessons so far had been great and Derick hadn’t made any advances towards her. Although they still had a lot to cover, every day she was getting more and more used to her vampire powers.
Today she was going to start a new lesson. Derick hadn’t told her what it was yet but she hoped that it would be as fun as the previous ones she had had. She was going to meet with him and Dana at the study, where the theoretical aspects of her lessons had always been. The sun was going down and it was already time for her to meet with them there. She placed the diary back on her bedside table and went downstairs to wait for them in the study.
Shortly after, they both entered.
“Hello Joana,” Dana said. “How was your day?”
“Not fine at all. I couldn’t sleep.”
“Haven’t found anything on the diary, have you?” Derick asked.
“Yes, and I’m already getting towards the final pages. All I’ve read about are some of the stuffs you’ve already told me about.”
“Don’t worry, just keep reading, you never know what you might find.”
“Ok,” Joana said to Dana’s remark.
“So today, we are not going to have any lessons. Derick and I have been talking, and we’ve decided it’s best if you moved into Marylin’s room.”
