Raphael’s POV

I heard Jess’s truck coming up the drive. I chuckled as the triplets started looking around. “Sounds like Jess is back.” Ryan called. Bring the last box from Jess’s room to the trailer. Sure enough her truck rolled in with the radio blasting “Body Like A Back Road”, by Sam Hunt. Poor Sophie I wonder if she can still hear. Jess killed the engine and jumped out. Sophie carefully climbed out and pulled something out of her ears. I looked a bit closer and noticed they were ear plugs. ‘Wow I guess that works.’ I thought to myself as I closed up the trailer.

Jess walked into full view and next thing I know one of the triplet’s let out a loud growl. I snap my head up to see what’s going on and my eyes land on Jess’s hair. Even in a ponytail it went down to her butt, now it was hanging just below her shoulders. “What the hell happened to your beautiful hair sweetheart?” I figured Zero liked her long hair. I can only tell them apart from what they call Jess. other than that I have to wait for her to call them by name. Jess smiles at the triplets and says “I had to use my hair for a special gift for the kids. I will fully explain after lunch and we all meet in Raphael’s office. We are going to have a special guest join us.” When Jess said special guest she looked my way.

No way, how did Jess finally convince Sabrina to leave her cottage? I have been trying for the last 8 years, since I first met her. Well whatever the reason that is getting her here. Maybe I can convince her to live here instead of all alone. I am so caught up in my thoughts that I didn’t hear Odette calling for us, until she came right up next to me. “Babe, I said it’s time for lunch. You ok?” She looks worried so I smile and pull her closer. “I am perfectly fine, my love. Let go before they all eat everything.” I lift her up and carry her to the dining room and sit with her in my lap.

Jess was sitting on one of the triplets laps too. She may still be a rough around the edges tomboy, but seems to act just a little more like a girl with the triplets. We have different kinds of sandwiches and the head omega, Amber, even made some stuffed rice balls. Jess always brought different recipes back from when she did traveling pack work. Roy picked up one of the rice balls, looking at it funny. “What is this?” He asked and Jess laughed and answered him. “It’s a rice ball. A local dish from Japan. Amber loves making dishes from the places I travel to for work. Try it Roy I think you will like it. Amber always tweaks the dishes so that everyone likes them”

Jess’s POV

Roy took a bite and g*****d. “Damn that’s good. It has some chunk roast beef in teriyaki sauce wrapped up in it.” Alex was interested next because if Roy said it was good then he knew it would be. Roy was always a picky eater when we were kids. Alex took a bite of his and was shocked. “Wow this one has pork belly with a hit of honey in it.” I giggled at their reactions. It reminds me of the time when we were all kids and would eat our meals together. I missed those days. Sasha and Rico walked in.

“Alright so we got everything all packed and loaded up, so we are ready to leave for Raven Moon as soon as we are done with the meeting today.” Sasha said as she grabbed a couple rice balls and sat down. I heard Wilson grunt. I smiled and climbed off Zero’s lap and walked over to the kids. “Wilson, Maria. I know me leaving is hard for you right now, but I went into town and got a very very special gift made for you. You have to promise that no matter what you will never ever take them off. Wear them always.”

Wilson and Maria looked a little happy, but sad at the same time. I pulled out the bag with the pendants.

I placed the blue one on Wilson and the green one on Maria. Jorge was holding Star so I walked over and placed the mixed one on her. The magic of the pendants made it so the chain shrunk so it was comfortable around all the kid’s necks. “Wow it’s so pretty Aunty Jess.” Maria smiled brightly. Wilson looked at the pendant and then back at me. “It feels like you and Midnight are right here in the stone Aunty Jess.” he said, holding the pendant as close to his heart as he can. “I had someone very special use my hair and Midnight’s fur for them to protect you and allow you to feel like I am still here with you. Plus there is something else that they can do.”

I walked over to the twins and had them hold their pendants together, like Sabrina had told me. “Hello my little ones. How are you holding up ok?” I heard Midnight. I was confused myself so I was about to ask her who she was talking to, but I was interrupted by Maria squealing. “Oh my goddess. That was Midnight’s voice wasn’t it?” She asked, looking between me and her brother. Wilson was too shocked for words. “Midnight did you just… talk to the twins?” Midnight giggled and replied. “Yes, Sabrina made it so that the twins anytime they put their pendants together. No matter how far apart we are. It is mostly in case ‘HE’ comes here and tries to hurt them. They can call us for help.” Maria’s bright voice brings me out of my thoughts with Midnight. “Uncle Raphael guess what?” she excitedly jumped over to her favorite uncle.

“What sugar?” he asked with a chuckle. “We can talk to Midnight anytime we want now. All Wilson and I have to do is put our pendants together like we just did.” Everyone was looking between the pendants and me all bug eyes. I laughed because they looked so funny. “Oh so that was the surprise she said the twins would have.” Sophie giggled out. Lunch went on with all of us messing around and then it was time to get serious.
