Ye Fan had already barged into the place by then.

He knew his way well, so he went right to the room where his great-grandma treated her patients.

Ye Fan was too worried, so he dragged his greatgrandma over.

"This woman is just a stranger, so why should I help her?

"You know what? I won't spoil you anymore. Medical request denied, young man," said the elderly woman in distaste. It was obvious she had no intention of saving Tang Yun.

Hearing that undoubtedly got Ye Fan to panic. He couldn't be bothered about being courteous and honest anymore, so he said, "You can't ignore her, Great-grandma. She's your great-granddaughter-in-law, and my children will lose their mother if you let her die."

"What? She's my great-granddaughter-in-law?" said the elderly lady. At first, she was calm and at ease, but hearing those words made her change her stance quickly. She could no longer remain unmoved. She had been around for too long and had witnessed too many deaths. Hence, most things couldn't faze her anymore.

In fact, it would not be a stretch to say that at that moment, she only cared about the Chu family's descendants.

Ye Fan might've been shameless, but even he couldn't help feeling a little embarrassed when he heard his great-grandma's words.

He scratched his head a little and awkwardly replied,

"L-Let's talk about this some other time. The important thing now is to save her."

"Ah, you're right," replied the elder. Ye Fan's words reminded her of what was urgent, so she turned her attention to the wounded Tang Yun. "Still, you did good, my silly boy, and you made the family proud. Hahaha..."

She didn't know why, but she was especially delighted to learn that her great-grandson had gotten together with Tang Yun. That news made her so happy that she was giggling nonstop.

Ye Fan grinned bitterly at the side.

He didn't expect his great-grandma to react that way.

However, her giggling didn't last long because she later saw Tang Yun's wounds. That turned the giggles into a grim frown.

The elder of the Chu family immediately turned around and smacked Ye Fan on the head. "How did Yun get so badly wounded?

"You little idiot. You're supposed to keep my great-granddaughter-in-law safe!

"Now, quit standing around and go fill the tub with some warm water, then strip Yun down. Put her into the tub right away.

"I'll go prepare the medicinal herb for Yun's bath.

"Go now!"

Ye Fan was stunned in place at the time. That infuriated the elderly so much that she smacked Ye Fan's leg with her walking cane. After that, she left the room in a hurry.

Ye Fan was the only one left in the room, and things became complicated.

At the end of the day, Tang Yun was still a woman, and it was inappropriate for Ye Fan to take off her clothes.

He had not done that to any woman before. Heck, he never even did that for his actual wife, Qiu Mucheng.

Ye Fan suspected that Tang Yun had given birth to his child.

It took Tang Yun a couple of days before she finally regained consciousness.

The familiar scene outside the window and the familiar scent of the herbs surrounded her.

For a moment there, she felt as though she had gone back to the time when she and Ye Fan had just met.

The young Ye Fan had mischievously stolen her clothes, and Tang Yun herself had hurt herself by training too hard. Ye Fan's great-grandma had to step up and rescue her.

At the time, Tang Yun didn't know Ye Fan, and they hadn't started learning the Dragon God Body. She certainly hadn't been dragged into all the drama that came after.

It felt as though everything was just a dream, and she would wake up as her past self, who was the beautiful and sophisticated head of the Chu Sect.

Tang Yun was lost in her mind when she heard a series of footsteps from behind the closed door.

Tang Yun bit her lip a little and sounded stubborn when she uttered those words.

Ye Fan's great-grandma, however, smiled and shook her head. "Yun, your lies might work on others, but not on me.

"I've been around for too long, and I've seen it all.

"Also, I was the one who treated your wounds, so I know all about your physical condition.

"It's just... You silly child. You truly are too reckless.

"Women are at their weakest after they gave birth to their child. How can you ignore your own wellbeing and battle others under those circumstances?

"If Ye Fan hadn't come to me in time, you would've already been gone."

The elderly lady spoke softly and slightly icily to scold the young lady.

Tang Yun tilted her head down in guilt and stopped talking.

That turned the entire room quiet.

Ye Fan's great-grandma could tell that Tang Yun was struggling though, so the former asked, "Yun, is there something you'd like to ask me?"

Tang Yun nodded slightly and hesitated for a moment before saying, "Yeah, I do. Grandma, I feel so lost.

"I honestly don't know what to do.

"Disappointing my master is something I simply couldn't bring myself to do, but I feel so lonely sometimes. Like everyone else, I wish for companionship, and I want to live a peaceful life."
