Mateo

I had dinner with Alita, and it was wonderful. It doesn't matter if she has accepted me or not, just being in her presence is more than enough.

I need to talk to Lorenzo and Sofia and see what we should do with her though.

Should I tell her about the missing person notice? Or should we wait until her family gets here?

I leave her so that she can rest, and my wolf is antsy inside my mind. He wants to come out and mark her, he's ready to know that she is 100% ours now and forever. When I walk into the room both Lorenzo and Sofia look at me. Sofia asks, "How is she doing?"

"She's... antsy. She's ready to get home to her 'mate"." I scoff, it's hard to even think of another man being her mate. Having a relationship with her the way only I should be able to have.

Sofia looks at me sympathetically and says, "I think she's been brainwashed, Mateo. I think she truly believes that man is her mate. If she is this missing girl... it's the only thing that makes sense. Otherwise, why wouldn't she be fighting and trying to get back home?" I nod as I sit down, "That makes sense. Should I talk to her about this? Or should we wait until her family comes?"

Lorenzo answers, "I've messaged her family and told them we found a girl that looks similar, and she might be who they're looking for. They should arrive tomorrow afternoon. It's up to you what you want to do, Mateo. But we cannot let Alita leave." I nod, "Understood, I'll keep her occupied tomorrow."

Sofia looks over toward the staircase and says, "I feel bad for her. Her whole life has turned upside down. She probably won't recognize her family tomorrow. She must be so scared."

She's right. I feel bad for my mate. I long to comfort her and be by her side, but I know right now that won't do anything but upset her. Peelle

It took us a day to get to Italy, but it was worth the travel.

The country is beautiful, and I know for sure that we will be reunited with Alita.

We got an email back from Alpha Lorenzo of the Verona Pack and he thinks that they might've found Alita and that she is currently at their pack. As our car gets closer to the destination my stomach churns in anticipation. A part of me is worried that they will be mistaken, but I hope that she will be there.

My mom and dad hold each other's hands and stare out the window. Their nervous energy is rolling off them in heavy waves. I know they're anxious to find out if their only daughter is here. We pull up to the pack borders and all of us straighten as we pull up to a pack house. It's beautiful out here and so different from our home.

Before we can even move from our seats, I see a girl walking around the house towards the front yard. She looks pissed.

I open the door, her hair is darker, but the closer she gets the more I realize that she looks like Alita. She continues to rush away from a dark-haired man chasing after her. He calls her name, "Alita!"

My eyes widen and my mom lets out a weird gasp or sob as we get out of the car. I'm shocked when Alita takes off her shoes and she throws one at the man as she yells, "My name is not Alita! It's Aurora! Say it with me, Au-ror-a!!!! You're not my mate and you can't keep me here forever. Trust me, when my real mate finds out about this, all of you will be dead!"

The man huffs and says, "Please, just hear me out. That man is not your mate!"

She throws her other shoe as she screams with tears running down her face, "There's no way for you to know that."

I can't keep quiet any longer. I rush over to her and call her name, "Alita."

She turns to face me and the corner of my mouth twitches up into a smile. This is her. She's okay... and Master Wraith told us the truth... she really is pregnant.

She huffs and rolls her eyes as she says, "My name isn't Alita! It's Aurora. I don't know who you are, but you clearly have the wrong person. Unless you plan to help me escape then leave me the hell alone!"

I can hear my parents' footsteps behind me and my mom's voice is shaky as she says, "Alita."

Alita looks at our mom with a furrowed brow and she mumbles softly to herself, "Why does everyone keep calling me that?"

Two people come outside to join us, and the man says, "Welcome! So, you're the infamous Alpha Evan," He says nodding to my dad as he continues, "I was surprised to hear from the conqueror of packs." Alita snaps her head towards my dad and says, "You-you're my mate's enemy. What? Are you here to kill me to get back at him for some reason?"

Dad's eyebrows furrow in confusion and he says, "Alita, I would never hurt you."

She lets out a growl as she says, "Stop calling me that! My name is not Alita! My name is Aurora May Bell! I'm so sick of everyone trying to tell me who I am!"

Dad takes a step towards her and says, "I know who you are. Your name is Alita Joy Thorne, and you are my daughter. I would never harm you."

She takes a step back and looks like she's on verge of a full-blown break down. She shakes her head as she murmurs, "That's impossible." She screams at us, "You don't know who I am!"

Before I know it, she's unconscious and falling into the dark-haired man's arms. He breathes out as he looks at the woman and asks, "Was that really necessary?" She scoffs, "You're lucky I didn't do that an hour ago."

The woman looks at us and says, "I'm Luna Sofia, welcome to our pack. Sorry, she needed to be subdued for her own health and the baby's health. Please, come inside."
