Chloe "You have no idea where I am taking you, so you need to have contact with me."

I still kept looking at him like he had spoken the strangest language on earth.

He sighed, fighting hard not to yell at me. I could see it on his eyes that he had gotten fed up but had no choice but to put up with me. He looked around, then his eyes settled on the ground just beside me, like he had found whatever he was looking for.

I took a step backwards when he took one forward and then he stopped, giving me a strange look. Then he lowered himself and came back up with a stick. He extended it towards me and my irritated look shifted to the stick in his hand. "Hold it," he gritted out.

I cocked a brow at him. "And use it to do what?"

He scoffed. "Since you do not feel comfortable taking my hand, you need to hold this stick so it can help take you along with me." His tone was impatient, very very impatient.

Not sure if he was lying or being sincere, I hesitated before grabbing the stick and before I could even realize that it was already happening, I found myself in a strange place. "Why did you not give me as much of a hint," I snapped, staggering a bit to retain my standing.

"I told you to grab the stick, you are not that dumb, or are you?"

I growled under my breath, trying to keep from screaming the insults I wanted to throw at him. I looked around me and that was when I realized that we were on a rock? Cliff? I lifted my eyes up and we were on a mountain?!

He moved around and I followed, trying to keep my eyes on him, while I looked around to be sure that I had not been cornered. You definitely could not blame my pessimistic attitude, when my grandfather was a guru in ambushing innocent people.

He halted, and when I reached beside him was when I took notice of the large double doors and my eyes widened. My heart beat increasing as realization started to set in. "Welcome to- "Dracula's cave," I whispered unconsciously.

I saw the sharp movement of his head and I tensed up, gulping as our eyes met. They were unasked questions in his eyes, and I had to come up with something quick before he got too suspicious. "I kind off remember someone bringing me here," I grabbed my head, pretending like I could not remember who brought me here. "But the memory seems too far, I can't even remember anything!"

He breathed a sigh of relief, his body visibly relaxing. "Do not bother yourself with such memories, I will give you new and better memories." He moved around the cave, ordering me to follow him, saying that we were going to use the back door. "Why not the main entrance? Or are you sneaking around?"

"Yes..."

His straight tone took me by surprise. He had not even tried to deny it, and he did not seem embarrassed about it. "But are you not the master over this cave? Why sneak around when you can just walk in through the door?"

"I have my reasons," I snapped with irritation laced in his voice. I watched him from behind, and he looked to be suffering from a lot of tension, with how stiff his back looked. "You must not be seen at any cause, I can not risk that." Interesting!

"So... why can't I be seen with you?"

He ignored me.

"Am I not one of you? Or do your people not accept me because I am half breed?"

He probably did not hear me this time.

"Do you not hear what I am saying- oh!"

His abrupt movement tookme by surprise and I leapt back. He glared down at me with disapproval, like I were a little kid who had stolen a piece of candy. "I do not want to hear another word from you, be silent!"

When had I ever been one to obey? But surprisingly, my mouth clamped shut and refused to open, not even when I tried to force out a retort. I followed him quietly from then onwards, the words flowing to my tongue then dying down as I realized that maybe it was best if I listened to him.

I knew for a fact that these cave was deadly and wicked and aside his throne, I was the next most important thing to Dracula. He would not like any harm to come to me and that meant that whatever he was doing, he was doing for my own safety.

I wished I could say warmth spread all over my chest. It was rather a coldness and as I stared at the back of his head, I nearly felt tempted to push him off the mountain. It was all for his selfish reasons, everything he did was for him and him alone!

Finally, it no longer seemed like we were moving in endless circles. We found a little gate which I came to understand was the back door that we had been looking for.

Dracula got busy trying to find whatever it was he was looking for in his cape, and I heard Marcus's voice in my head, asking if I was okay.

My heart dropped into my stomach, as I stared through the now open door. I could not make out anything in the darkness of the cave, but two red eyes staring at me expectantly. What exactly was I supposed to reply him, because I myself wasn't so sure if I was fine or not.

I told him the first thing that came on my mind before stepping into the cave. I felt my eyes light up, and my demon leapt in excitement while my wolf could merely tolerate me being here. My demon felt like it was finally home and that feeling made me fear the worst.

The feeling of being overpowered...
