Chloe's

POV:

It's time, I said through the link.

I stared ahead in the distance where a bonfire was lit and smoke rose up into the air, clouding the area. The party has already begun, let's go introduce ourselves. Shall we?

I grabbed on to Marcus's hand firmly, as I started to move. The other men joined in, as we made our way towards the party and what was going to turn into a blood bath by the end of the night.

As we marched out of their forest, the sound of our footsteps were absent and still, the others had not known that they were invisible. I had casted the spell from the moment I brought us I to this land, just in case there were to be a wanderer, I could not risk anyone seeing us before we made ourselves known to the king and most especially, queen.

Their noises grew louder, with every step we took. By now, I could hear the faint beating of drums and the chants from the people and soon, we were out in the open. Just in front of me, were a group of people gathered around a large burning fire, with the head of the pack sitting at the end of the circle and beside him was...

I shook my head, reminding myself that I had not come there for some reunion or something, I had come to seek blood!

I raised a hand, signaling for everyone to stop moving. They obeyed, halting on their in their steps. "Now, I want you to mingle and gather as much oas you can, and do not forget to get back to me as soon as you get any information." "But how Luna," one of the soldiers spoke up. "would they not figure out that we are not part of the clan?"

A chuckle left my lips, as I noticed that they still had not realized that they were invisible. "How do you figure out something that you can't even see? We all are invisible right now," I reply coolly.

The reaction I got out of them was humorous and I saw that Marcus joined in on the joke, as the corners of his lips quirked up into a little smile. Some had been terrified and screamed their lungs out, while others thought it was cool and they loved their new borrowed ability.

Titus stood by the side, his wise eyes already watching, examining the area around us. He had not said much since we arrived, and I think I knew the reason. He was took busy looking for something or rather; someone.

"Stay close," Marcus bent to mutter in my ear, when the soldiers started splitting up in different directions. I was going to retort, but decided against picking a fight with him. No matter how I proved myself worthy, I would never be capable enough before him. "I wouldn't want you getting hurt now, would I?"

I took a deep breath, a very deep one because that was the only thing that kept me from snapping at him. "I know what you are hinting at, but I will be fighting whether you like it or not, I do not need permission to do so! "But you could endanger your life."

"It is my life, not yours," I growled in a voice which sounded harsher than I intended. "Can you stop fighting me on this? Let me do my thing and you only give me your trust and support, that's all!"

He was silent for a long time and I almost thought he had mistakenly swallowed his tongue. He followed silently as we walked through the gathering, across the open centre and made our way into the royal house. "Let is stick together, I don't want to location of you."

I shook my head in disagreement. "Let's split up, that way we would be able to find him quicker." He made a face to start n argument with me but then, a young she-wolf walked past us with a plate of food in her hand. "I wonder where she is going," I muttered to myself.

Marcus and I shared a look and without consulting the other, we started to follow closely behind the servant. "I will go in first, you wait untill I tell you that it's alright to come in, okay?"

I snorted. "Are you not such a life saver?" I asked sarcastically. "Sich a hero to always throw yourself in the face of danger because you think you are cat with nine lives," I said, rolling my eyes.

He growled lowly at me, but still said nothing and surprisingly, he still did not loosen his grip on my hand.

I smiled to myself, blessing the gods for how lucky I got with this one.

The girl stopped by a large metal door and she dropped the plate of food and took out a bunch of keys from her dress pocket and began to fumble with the door lock. We waited until she opened the door and went in, before we followed, passing through the door but we weren't ready for what we met on the other side.

Narrator's POV:

The drums were rolling and the party was going. The dancers had now been called out and they danced beautifully and gracefully, attracting admiration from their fellow clans men and also a few men who happened to be invisible at that time.

It had been over twenty minutes since they got there and they were still waiting for a command from either their Luna or Alpha.

The Alpha of the pack sat at the end of the circle, and his Luna took up the space beside him. While he looked to be enjoying himself, she looked like she was not happy. "What saddens you my angel?"

I controlled herself not to cringe at his pet name for her. "Nothing, can I please excuse myself? I would love to use the bathroom."

He nodded, grabbing the back of her head and giving her a very hot kiss which she did not return. When he finally released her, she got out of of looked to be a makeshift throne, walking away quickly like she could not stand to be in his presence any longer.

She hurried towards the house, heading straight for where they kept their guest. He husband had ordered that they put her with the servants and left her unattended to, but she had refused to do such. Instead, she she gave her a chamber and made sure that she was well attended to.

She knocked when she got to her door, going in when she did not get any permission. She knew that the lady behind the door was getting depressed and no matter how she wanted to help her, she knew that was forbidden. Her husband would have her neck if she were to do that.

The lady sat with her head buried in between her thighs. All her food for the day had returned untouched and obviously, she had plans to do same with the one right in front of her.

"What are you doing here?" the lady asked, startling her.

She opened her mouth to speak and closed it again. It repeated itself for a couple of times before she sighed. She lowered herself to the side of the bed, making sure to put a good distance between them. "Your friend... tell me about her," she hesitated as she spoke.

The lady raised her head suddenly, shooting her a glare. "There is nothing to tell, don't bother me please." She was going to be done talking, but then remembered that she had skipped out some part. "If you really cared about her, you would have taken her in after you murdered your brother or at least, you would give her a break and stop trying to capture her!"

The other lady's eyes hardened, as she refused to show her true emotions, she refused to show weakness. "This is where she belongs," she spoke like her voice was made of steel. "I never asked stupid Donald to try and capture her, but what I do know is that my plans are totally different, I will never let any harm come to her."

The lady scoffed. "Very well said, but I would have believed you if you aren't the murderer of her parents-

That very sentence was not able to be completed, as she landed a slap across the lady's face. "Do not speak of such that do not concern you," she snapped evilly. "Pray hard to whatever being you look up to human, that Chloe sees your note and come for you or else..."

"Do not even bother telling me," the lady said in a bored tone. "If this is my fate, so be it. But I refuse to wrong Chloe like that. She has been through so much and just when she was finally getting some happiness in her life, I tried to jeopardize it, I tried to betray her," she whispered on a voice that sounded tired and broken. "Kill me if you must, but I told her not to come here, told her told stay as far away from this stupid place!"

Her eyes widened at the lady. "You stupid girl! What the hell have you done?!" she paced the hall, biting her fingers as she lamented. "All my plans will go to waste now, because of you stupidity! I told you to listen to me, didn't I?" "And why should I listen to anything you say?" The lady hissed back.

She was going to retort but then; she gave the lady one last stony look and went out the door, slamming it behind hard behind her.

Chloe's POV:

I had sat back watching the scene that was unfolding right in front of me. I watched the retrieving form of my red haired aunty Chloe leave the room, while Lily remained glaring at her.

To be sincere, I did not know what to make out of the little confession I had just heard, but I knew exactly what to do. "Baby? I am making us visible now and you know how silly Lily can get so get ready to clamp her mouth in case she tried to

scream.

I sat right in front of her and broke the spell, appearing right in her direction of view. "You look a mess," I whispered.

She staggered back, her eyes shifted to Marcus and back to me. She did not try to scream but she got paler than I had ever seen her. "Wh... what... how..." she kept stuttering, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"You just do me a favour and shut up, I did not come here to have a friendly chitchat with you and act like you had not just tried to betray me," I spat, not minding the hurt look that crossed her features. "You deserve everything that is coming to you but, I am your Luna and it's my duty not to leave you when you need me, so I will help you."

Lily drew in a breath, her eyes getting cloudy with tears as she struggled to meet my eyes. "I am so sorry," I sniffed. "I really am sorry and I hope someday, you will forgive me."

I glared harder at her.

"Where is Mark?"

She turned to Marcus, when he finally spoke. "He is down in the dungeons, almost dead," she ended. Her lower lips trembled and she took it in between her teeth, trying to hold back the sob that almost escaped her throat. "They have had him. for the past week, beating and torturing him for all this time and I'm sorry I couldn't tell you, they threatened me."

"That is alright, we need to get you out of here. Do you know where Mark is?"

She nodded.

I raised my hand, shifting her into our little beautiful bird. I placed a hand on the bed and she hopped on to my palm and I lifted her up, taking her over to the closed window. I pushed it open, letting her go. Find Mark and let's get out out of here!
