Alpha’s Slave Luna -
Chapter 104
Otis's POV:
"Obey the Wolf King!"
With Conrad's voice, the original Dusk Pack warriors began to move swiftly, without hesitation, like loyal and well-trained warriors.
The sound of their conversation was caught by my hearing, and in a few short sentences, it concealed the dramatic transformation that had taken place in the Dusk Pack.
What was once the most powerful wolf pack in the forest had now changed, even the Alpha had changed into a different person.
The immensity of the information made me feel a little confused until Conrad's voice reached my ears.
"Otis, the Blue-moon Pack is not far away, let's use full speed to cross this forest."
His voice sobered me up quickly and without hesitation I cleared all my thoughts and proceeded to transform into a wolf.
It had been a few days since we had emerged from the Blue-moon Pack and now with another delay here, we could not afford to let any more time pass.
By the time we had crossed the ruins of the Grey Pack, the desert had also been crossed and the green of the forest wrapped around me once again, leaving behind the warriors who had joined the Blue-moon Pack.
The strong wind blew against our bodies with the scent of the forest and the heat disappeared for the most part in a flash, and it was at this point that I realised that our speed was no longer on the same level as a normal werewolf at all.
It was not at all like the distance between a werewolf and a werewolf, but the distance between an ordinary being and a being with divine power.
Their silhouettes were diminishing behind us at a speed visible to the naked eye, and although these warriors fought hard to catch up, they were unable to close the gap at all.
A few short minutes passed and we were completely out of sight of the warriors as we made our way quickly through the forest, with little to stop our progress. Hopefully the plague would not become too bad.
My mind prayed so, and after breaking away from the desert, the vegetation around us was becoming more dense and we had soon made a difference to our surroundings.
We were not as close from the forest to the Totem Pack as we were from the edge of the forest to the Blue-moon Pack's territory, not to mention that without the effect of all that sand on our speed, we would have a much faster pace. Perhaps we will reach the Blue-moon Pack before dark.
The smell of earth and leaves washed away the desert scent from my body, and a pleasant scent rushed into my lungs, accompanied by Conrad's scent blowing in from ahead.
In normal times I would have enjoyed this, I would have been lost in the forest running, but the jug of antidote I carried on my back was reminding me of the crisis with its weight.
In the view ahead of me, Conrad, moving at high speed, made his figure almost a sky-blue light, a light that flowed so quickly inside the forest that not even the sunlight could leave his shadow.
The change in the plants seemed to herald the loss of time, and I had no thoughts of enjoying the sensation of running, but instead used all my spirit and strength to increase my speed. After his rebirth his strength had increased across the board and even his speed was almost surpassing mine, and I had to use all my speed and strength in order to keep up with him. The wind ahead of me seemed to blow tirelessly, and as the golden sunlight dimmed a little, I could see small blue flowers appearing next to some trees.
This is a plant unique to the Blue-moon Pack and the Blue-moon Pack is just ahead of us!
A feeling of joy came over me, but it was short-lived and soon a feeling of unease took over inside me.
Why did I feel this way? My face turned ugly, when I have this feeling in my heart, something bad is likely to happen.
As if to confirm my suspicions, Eda's urgent voice rang inside me.
"Otis, my gut tells me something bad is going to happen, you need to speed up your pace so things don't get worse!"
Her words rushed inside me and my brow furrowed completely in the moment.
Eda was my wolf, and every time her instincts were spot on, it made me have somehow not want to hear this one from her.
Could something have happened to Nair or one of the other clansmen?
I felt a sudden pain in my gut, then I immediately shook my head.
"No, it can't be, a few days should still be within tolerance, they'll be fine!"
I tried with all my might to find a reason that would convince me, but that uneasy feel ing kept stabbing me in the heart.
Nair, Nair! There were probably children his age among the wolves who had contracted the plague!
No, I had to get back to the pack as fast as I could, I would never leave my people in crisis!
As I thought of this, the strength of my spirit seemed to overtake my physical body, and I ran with all my might on all four paws, completely disregarding my breathing rate and body conditioning in order to muster up more strength. Just to reach the most extreme speed!
The exhaustion in my body was getting stronger, the extreme speed was causing my muscles to start pulling, my every cell was aching, the lack of fluid breathing was making me feel the lack of oxygen in my brain, yet I was enduring with all my willpower, trying to push my body past its limits!
Because I understand that when crisis strikes, willpower is the ultimate weapon of a werewolf against disaster!
The Conrad in front of me was slowly drawing closer to me, and in the midst of my extreme willpower, I suddenly felt as if the blood in my body was boiling at this moment, and a mysterious power was once again emerging from within my blood, and it made me go faster!
What kind of power is this? Why was there this strange power in my blood, when I had clearly used all my power before?
Some doubts appeared in my mind, but I didn't have time to think about it, the power came at the right time, it ran through my body like a tumbling ocean and I managed to break the speed limit! "Otis, your speed?"
Suddenly Conrad's surprised voice came from my ears and it was only at this time that I realised I had reached his side.
"Conrad, I have an uneasy feeling inside my heart, I have to get back to the wolves by all means!"
"Good, the crisis of the wolves is at hand, you go back first with the antidote and I will follow soon!"
After a brief exchange I had no more hesitation, my mental powers manipulating me beyond my limits and allowing me to outrun Conrad at a speed I would never have dared to imagine before! How much did my speed increase, double, or double?
The wind in front of me strengthened several times in a short period of time, then a sudden burst of air currents burst around me and the sounds around me were silenced in this moment. This feeling.
I was suddenly startled at this moment, because the string of air currents around me had proved that I was now going at the edge of Mach 1, a speed beyond the sound!
Was this the speed that life could achieve?
Indescribable shock came over me, but I still didn't have time to think it over, I didn't have any time to hesitate.
It took less than ten minutes for the familiar complex of buildings to appear in my sight.
Blue-moon Pack, I'm back at last!
The extreme speed made the distance not seem like a distance. In less than two seconds after I saw the Blue-moon Pack complex, I was at the gates of the Blue-moon Pack, and I stopped in my tracks at that moment. No one, how could the gates of Blue-moon Pack not be guarded by werewolves!
The uneasiness in my heart became heavier, but just as I tried to speed up and rush into the interior of Blue-moon Pack, a pain that seemed to rip through my body came!
"oh...... my body!"
I suddenly fell to the ground uncontrollably, intense pain came from every cell of my body, my blood seemed to burn as if they were going to burst through my body and tear me apart!
Was there really a price to pay for such speed beyond the limit?
I clenched my teeth at this moment and, with my body trembling, I climbed up with all my might and took one step towards the interior of the Blue-moon Pack.
I would bring the antidote to every member of my clan!
The eerie atmosphere became even more intense, the wolves were so quiet that they were almost silent, all the buildings were closed with doors and windows as far as I could see, and not a single werewolf was in sight. What was going on here, unease spread through my mind and suddenly I shouted out to my surroundings.
"Anyone, please say something if there is someone!"
I shouted as I walked towards the interior, but still there was no sound.
As the dusk glowed over the Blue-moon Pack, my surroundings became dull, uneasiness and pain overwhelmed my body, and suddenly the image of the first clan member to die appeared in my mind. Pale and devoid of moisture, as if they were dead bodies.
No, it could never be like that, I had brought the antidote back, no!
Just as I was searching with all my might for a reason, I suddenly felt some sight on my body, which made my insides jump and now I jerked my head in the direction from which the sight came! Hollow, I saw hollow eyes.
In the dusk glow, in the closed building, behind the glass windows, in the dim shadows where the lights were not on, a pale moisture deprived clan member looked at me with a hollow gaze without a voice. The dull light hid the appearance of their bodies, and only their pale faces and gazes stood out in the darkness.
It was as if I had entered a silent, haunted realm filled with dried monsters.
