Alpha’s Slave Luna -
Chapter 115
Otis's
POV:
"A
wolf pack like us?"
I saw Jace freeze for a moment, but he didn't refuse to answer my words.
"I don't know exactly how many there are, but at least there can't be fewer, and for all I know, there's another pack less than a hundred miles from here that's in a similar position to us." "Are they facing the same situation as you."
"No, they are even worse."
As I listened to his words I fell silent, and what Conrad had once said came into my mind.
Create a kingdom without war, unified?
When he first said this, I was only fascinated by his kingly majesty and divine aura, but I didn't think hard about the meaning of it.
But now, when I see these wolves in a bad situation and relatively weak, I realise what an important and great decision this is.
Only by unifying all the wolves through the kingdom could we prevent wars between the packs and the rogues that would appear after the packs were destroyed.
I don't want to see these good wolves living a life that is worse than a slave anymore. I want to walk with Conrad on the road to building a kingdom, which is the bright future we all want to have. The thought made my heart grow much firmer and I suddenly spoke up at this point.
"Jace, why don't you guys try to join some of the more powerful wolves?"
"Join a powerful wolf pack?"
Jace suddenly laughed, and then he shook his head.
"I had that fantasy once, but I knew it was impossible, and as far as I know the powerful wolves in the south, they are brutal by nature, very xenophobic, and full of very strong contempt for the weak." With some downturn in his voice, he looked out of the window.
"If we join those wolves, we will just fall from one abyss to another, we will be treated as the lowest slaves or servants, we will not live in much better conditions and we will lose all our dignity, that is the result that no one wants, although we live in poor conditions here, at least we have the right to be free."
Hearing his words, I felt my heart get much heavier, I looked out of the window at the dwindling rain and looked at Jace with a sincere gaze.
"I mean if, if one day a kingdom of werewolves appeared in this side of the forest, a kingdom without war, without rogues, united and peaceful, would you like to join."
"A kingdom of werewolves, how is that possible?"
A bitter smile appeared on Jace's face, then his tone lightened.
"Of course I would, it's a future I've dreamed of, but only in my dreams of course."
"I received your answer that perhaps this future is not so far away."
I took a deep breath at his words, I had the answer I wanted and his approved reply made the path ahead of me seem brighter.
"Not too far away?"
There was some consternation on Jace's part, but I stood up in the moment.
"It's stopped raining outside, I can see the dark clouds receding, I need to get to the hills and pick plants."
"In such a hurry? I see you're not even completely dry."
"This plant is very urgent and important to me and I don't really have much time to rest, so if I can hurry, I will."
At the sound of my voice, Jace seemed to understand the importance of the matter, and he glanced towards the old werewolf next to him who had his eyes closed over the fire, and then the old lady nodded knowingly. "Son, I know where this plant is."
The old lady hunched over and stood up from the side, her voice was a little hoarse but not feeble.
"According to your previous description, if I am correct, this plant should possess many on this snowy mountain."
She walked over to the window as she spoke, and he pointed her wrinkled finger in the direction of the sun.
"All you have to do is climb in the direction of the sun and where it is, between the snow that is about to melt, you will see the kind of plant you are talking about."
"Thank you very much ma'am."
I expressed my thanks earnestly to the old werewolf, and then I turned straight away and walked outside, accompanied at the same time by Katy's voice, which had something childish in it, in my rear.
"Be back early, sister, it can be a cold night in the mountains."
"Sure."
The voices around me fell silent again, and I pushed the door open and left the house, stepping on the wet ground without much hesitation.
The Snow Pack's range was small, not even as large as the Blue-moon Pack's training ground, and they were perched on a flat piece of ground halfway up the mountain, perhaps protected from attacks from all sides in this way.
All they had to do was hold the position at the bottom of the hill.
It took me just under a minute to reach the back of the Snow Pack. As I arrived, the ground began to appear a little steeper and the slope began to extend slightly upwards, and I knew it was a path up the mountain.
The Snow Fairies should be up there, and with the Moon God blessing me, I was sure I would be able to find my target quickly.
I said a quick prayer in my mind and at the same time increased my speed towards the back where gravity was pushing against my body, but due to my lighter weight I wasn't affected much.
The wind from the top of the hill was blowing against my body, the sharp rocks were scattering the ground like pins, the trees were becoming thinner and I could feel the temperature dropping as if I was crossing the seasons and heading towards winter. I suddenly stopped in my tracks at this point. According to the Lady, the snow elves should be growing right into the sun, but the wind ahead was so cold.
Perhaps I needed to adjust my angle a bit.
With that in mind, I looked up at the sun and began to run quickly in its direction, letting the light shine as brightly as possible on my body, although I could feel it getting brighter, the temperature was not rising.
Perhaps it was the altitude? I felt the temperature around my skin while looking ahead.
This should be the direction.
I leaned my body and ran quickly, the mountain was a little higher than normal, the white cap at the top seemed to be guiding me along, maybe for a normal werewolf it would take a long time to climb this mountain, but for me it wasn't very difficult. "Almost there, soon we will reach the top of the mountain."
The sloping and steep ground receded quickly beneath me, and when the sun was at its strongest, I felt that cold and soft touch beneath my feet.
It was snow that had melted a little.
I slowed my pace at this point, the increasingly harsh sunlight made me squint, the sunlight near the top of the mountain was far more blinding than elsewhere, especially when there was snow.
The snow at the top of these mountains seemed to be reflecting the sunlight as if it were a mirror, and the already intense sunlight became even more intense, as if I was being focused by countless searchlights, and even if I closed my eyes, this intense light could still penetrate my eyelids making me feel blurred white.
These sun rays were so bad that I had never imagined that they could be so intense as to make one feel so bored.
I took a moment to adjust before slowly opening a slit in my eye to view my surroundings through the slit in my glasses, but just as I looked around, the sight in the distance caused my pupils to contract.
"Is that a ...... snow elf?"
I looked in shock at a flat spot a few dozen feet away, the protruding white colour catching my eye.
The golden sun shone on the white petals, and these beautiful flowers gently shook their leaves with the blowing wind, dancing intelligently as if they were elves at the junction of snow and mud, between the clusters of grasses, as if they were in the snowy mountains.
