An Affair With My Ex -
Chapter 38
Abby's POV.
The moment she left the room, I picked up my phone and dialed Jack's contact one more time to know if he would pick up but it wasn't still possible.
"Is he getting ready to be seen in a suit? I bet he will look so sweet while he walk closer to me at the alter!!" I chuckled as my imaginations grew wider by every second.
I looked at my phone to see if he would call back but I didn't still get any response from him.
"I trust you Jack.. I know that you won't act like him.. you have always been different and nothing is going to change that" I tapped my hand on my chest three times as I assured myself that he was going to come for the wedding.
I wasn't that okay myself considering the fact that it had actually happened to me before.
I closed my eyes for about five seconds as I felt my hand and my heart stay calm. Closing my eyes was kind of a comforter for me and possibly the only way to calm my nerves down.
I was still in my therapy of relaxation when the door to my room opened with a loud sound following it as it came in contact with the wall behind it.
"Abby!!!? Abby get up now!!!" Cherry called out with her eyes wide open and her eyes glistening.
It was actually at that point that I knew something good was about to happen. It was obvious that Jack had arrived and at a good timing.
"Stay calm Cherry!! What's wrong?" I chuckled like I knew nothing about her current mood.
"You see me all happy and jubilating and the question that comes out of your mouth is What's wrong? Come on Abby.. we need to leave now!!!" She got closer to me as she dragged my hand towards her Direction so I could stand or get up from where I was sitting. "Take it easy Cherry.. you wouldn't want to rip my cloth you know" I said out as I tried reminding her that I wasn't in my casual outfit.
"Oh.. my bad.. let me help you" She bent low to my feet as she began to help me untangle my gown from my legs.
She was still trying to fix my gown when suddenly, I heard footsteps coming towards my room door.
It was actually louder than I had expected considering the fact that the speaker at the venue was increased to a point that it's music could actually blow up ones ear drum.
I paused as I gazed curiously at the entrance of my room because someone called Cherry had left the door open after she came in.
I was so nervous to know who it was that Cherry who was focused on my gown had already noticed my mood.
She stood up to my point with a confused stare at me.
"Are you okay Abby? You are turning all red" She said as she placed her back palm on my forehead to check if I was okay.
"I am fine Cherry!!" I scoffed without looking at her.
"Cant you hear that sound? Can't you feel like something is coming at us this minute?" I asked but this time, I had to look her in the eye to ask.
"Then it must probably be Your husband Jack.. why panic when you haven't seen anything or anyone.?"
"Oh... my husband? Why didn't I think about that earlier "I mumbled to myself as I gave Cherry a sweet smile.
"Come on let's go" I added as I placed my left hand across her shoulders.
We were on our way out when she finally surfaced. My nemesis or enemy. She was looking all evil in her black gown as usual.
"Why is she here Cherry??" I whispered into Cherry's ear as I glared at her standing at the door side with a fake smile all over her face.
"Hey Abby!!" She waved as she greeted me.
"Don't you think I should at least get a hug and a tight one at that from you? I am your wedding guest and should be treated as one... or don't you think so?" She mocked me as she took three steps closer to where I was. "What do you want?" I inquired as I could feel my heart pounding like it was about to explode in her face.
They were only reacting to the fact that someone scary was standing in front of me.
"What do I want? I want your gown Abby so could you give it to me.?!" She requested with a cold gaze on me.
I paused for a while thinking about what had actually given her such courage to come at me.
"Are you insane? Do you know what you are saying!!?" Cherry defended immediately.
She must realized how cold I went hearing The evil lady ask for my gown.
"Hey there flower girl!! Don't put a voice in our conversation okay.. besides, I wasn't referring to you.. I was talking to your friend whom you should actually advice!!" She fired Cherry without delay.
It felt like she had everything that was going to happen on my wedding day in her palm.
"I need to go get Jack Abby.. we can't let her treat you like trash!!" Cherry ran out of sight out of her own will.
I was about going after her but my enemy placed her hand on my chest pushing me back.
"Get off me.. you know my husband won't actually find it funny if he gets you here!!" I spoke out rudely not minding who she really was anymore.
"Point of correction Abby.. he is your husband to be meaning that I can actually take him away from you right now!!" She assured which had caught my attention.
I froze with silence when I realized that she had actually came to the wedding venue to destroy everything I and Jack worked our ass out for.
I was about yelling at her to let me go when suddenly, I got slapped in the face with her statement.
"You better let me get married to the man who owns my heart Abby... you are just his mistress. He met you at the bus stop but me... I have always been with him since high school" She revealed as she walked slowly towards the curtain on the window. "What do you mean by that??!?" She turned and was about saying something when I got kicked out of life by Jack's voice.
"Kate stop!!!!" He yelled out and within the twinkle of an eye, I fell to the ground.
I wasn't sure what was wrong with me though.. but I was sure that tears were running down my cheeks.
"Abby!!? Abby please wake up!!" Cherry begged but that was the last statement I heard clearly before I went into a blank room.
