Chapter 50

THEO

It has been a long painful ten days, and Hayley still hasn't woken up. Christmas came and went.

No one wanted to celebrate, but Hayley's family and friends we gathered around her bed. We all had our dinner there and even opened some gifts. Everyone was trying to be happy, but it was hard. I couldn't be happy. The one person I wanted with me to celebrate the holiday was still in her hospital bed, still out of it.

The pack doctor told us she was healing nicely, but she will have some scars due to the stab wounds Ruth inflicted on her.

Summer has been making sure I have been eating and even showering, but all I want to do is either sleep by Hayley's hospital bed or work on the cabin.

Harvey thought it might be a good idea for me to start on it, as I was starting to depress everyone. They made a rota for when everyone could stay with Hayley, so she was never alone. But I always made sure I was there every night to wake up to her, but it also calmed Jake. but he was on edge and wanted to get out. So working on the cabin has been our place to go. Even Harrison and Harvey have helped me out when they could. Also, Alpha Jacob and Nathan have been pitching in when they could.

Nathan has moved here, he has been staying in the pack house and has been helping Alpha Jacob with the work that Ruth and Carly fucked up for the pack; they are slowly getting there but there has been so much wrongdoing that we may have to start over again but Nathan seems to think that we will get there with a little patience.

As for Ruth, she is still in the cells, but she hasn't opened her mouth to anyone, not even to Harvey and Harrison. Nathan hasn't been down there to confront her yet, as Agent Matthews thinks once Hayley wakes up, they can face her together. We have talked about her punishment, which was death, but Agent Matthews wants Hayley to make the final decision on the punishment which we all agreed with.

I'm currently making sure our bedroom is sorted in the cabin and putting the finish touches to it. I made it big enough with an en-suite bathroom for us. The cabin has five bedrooms, a big kitchen, three bathrooms and a huge lounge but also I have made sure we have plenty of area for guests.

I have been working on this all through the eight days.

I can hear singing coming from downstairs.

I swear if I have to hear him sing one more time, I can hear chuckling in my head as Jake laughs. "Harrison is happy," he says and looks at me. "He is going to be a dad," he says.

Harrison and Emma just recently found out that they are expecting which is great news. I found out of Summer, who knew I was having a hard time being happy for everyone at the moment.

Harrison has this stupid cheesy grin on his face, which we know it is because of Emma, but the baby is making it bigger.

His singing comes to a stop. "Hey Theo," he shouts. "You're nearly done up there."

"Yeah," I shout back to him as I head out of the door and down the stairs to find him leaning on the wall.

"Shall we go," he says.

I nod.

We both leave the cabin; I turn around and lock up.

I walk towards Harrison's car, but he is staring back at the cabin. "This was such a good idea," he says and looks at me. "Hayley will love it."

I nod but do not say anything. I have been praying to the Moon Goddess to bring Hayley back to me.

We both climb into the car and head back to the pack house.

Once we get there, we both climb out. I head inside to take a shower. I was going back to the hospital.

I quickly shower and got dressed.

I walk out, only to bump into Alpha Jacob. "Hey man, I was going to see if I could walk over with you for a little while. Summer has been there for a few hours, so I thought I would collect her while you go in," he says. I nod and we both walk out of the pack house together in silence.

Everyone seems too scared to ask me how I am feeling.

"Lucy has met her second chance, mate," Alpha Jacob says suddenly. I look back at him and smile. "That's nice," I say, trying to sound happy, but it doesn't come out like I wasn't.

"Theo, you okay?" He asks as he stops me.

I look down at the ground and sigh. "I'm ok, I just want her to wake up," I said.

Alpha Jacob looks at me with pity in his eyes. "I know dude, you have been quiet and a mess since. I am so glad Summer made you shower or you would have been smelling bad too," he says and we both start to walk up to the hospital. "She will soon," he says suddenly. "I mean she will wake up soon."

As we get to the hospital, we are greeted by two nurses as we walk past and head straight into Hayley's room.

Once we opened the door, Summer was sitting there reading something from a glossy magazine to her. Summer stops as we walk in and smile. "She's been okay, everything is looking good," she says to me and gets up out of the chair and heads straight into Alpha Jacob's arms.

I can't look at them as I want to do that with Hayley so much.

I take my seat and place my hand in hers like I always do.

"We will see you tomorrow," says Summer as she looks at me, but I just stare at Hayley.

I can hear her sigh and both of them walk out of the room.

I stare at my princess and Jake comes closer to see her through my eyes. "She looks better," he says in a whisper.

I have to agree with him. When we first saw her she was covered in bandages. She looked like a mummy from a Halloween costume party. She was also pale too. Nathan and Hayley have the same blood type. Nathan said it was a family thing; he donated blood to help Hayley and even made the pack doctor have extra just in case, but only when he was up to it.

Nathan has been in here a few times but I think he feels weird as they have never met but he has been asking about her, trying to get to know who she really is, I guess which is really nice that he wants to know her.

I lean forward and get out of the bed; I lean on my arm and place my lips on her forehead. "Please baby, wake up," I say in a whisper. "I need you."

I sit back down and hold her hand, rubbing small circles on the back of her hand.

After a few hours, I must have drifted off to sleep as I woke up with a start. I looked around, not really knowing where I was. Even though I have been here every night for over a week, something woke me up. I look towards Hayley.

She is still sleeping, still not awake.

I leaned back in my chair but still had my hand in hers slightly.

Once I placed my hand in hers there were tingles shooting through us.

I gasp and move back slightly, looking at her.

There have been slight tingles, but not as powerful as this.

Jake wakes with a start and comes closer to the surface. "I can feel something," he says in a whisper but goes quiet.

The hand in mine gently squeezes mine.

What the...

I stare at Hayley. "Baby, you awake," I say in a whisper.

Her hand squeezes mine once more. She's waking up.

"I can feel Raina," says Jake suddenly. "Raina is back and I think..." he says but stops as we both stare back at Hayley, who is moving her head slightly back and forth.

She moans slightly and I move the chair back slightly. "Baby," I say to her, her head moves in my direction as she slowly opens her eyes.

Once she flutters her eyes open, those big green eyes look back at me.

She stares at me. "Theo," she says in a raspy voice.

I can't believe that Hayley has finally woken up.
