Chapter 124

A pair of strong and muscular arms wrapped the falling beauty into them tightly before her body could touch the hard marble floor under the effect of gravity. She fainted! But why? And how? This was the question lingering inside everyone's head, making them vulnerable at this point. All the werewolves had started to gather around the couple, but Sammy made his move and shielded them both, while Emerald and Eva had been trying to wake Scarlet up. It seemed that she had slipped into an eternal dark valley, not being able to listen or react at all. She looked like a sleeping beauty. But was she really!!?

Getting no response from her, Emerald braced the girl in his arms even more tightly and took large strides over the stairs only to reach his bedroom as soon as possible. He couldn't use his werewolf speed because many humans had been around including Eva and Scarlet's parents too. One wrong move, and everything shattered! No, he couldn't afford it at all, neither could Scarlet.

The girl in his arms looked lively and fresh, but the aura her petite body emitted was making him restless as she looked like a freshly fallen leaf from its parent twig, waiting to be decomposed. He knew that she was a powerful mermaid, but the uneasiness had taken charge over his sanity. Anything!!! If possible, he would call any healers.

Yes! Healers!

"Sammyy....." His ear-piercing tone buzzed in Sammy's ear drum almost deafening him, who had been occupied in handling the guests. Leaving everything at place, he rushed immediately towards the source of voice, before it popped up again. The other guards took charge over the situation and tried to calm the guests. Everything that had been so lively a moment ago, was looking messed up. Why...!! Just because the center of attraction fainted all out of sudden.

With a low understanding gesture towards Jasper, Luna took care of the mess and attended to the guests,

"Everyone, please calm down. Actually, Scarlet had not eaten anything since a while. Hence, she just fainted. We have called the doctor to attend her. She will be fine very soon. Please join in for the dinner. Everything is fine."

Her words of assurance worked like a miracle and the messed up evening soon came back to its original lively mood, with people slowly approaching towards the dining tables arranged outside the castle in that huge garden with lots and lots of rare flowers. Mr. And Mrs. Lozenge approached Luna to enquire, but she instead patted Mrs. Lozenge's hands gesturing her to ease up, as there was nothing to worry about.

The most restless people in that castle were none other than Emerald and Grand Empress.

Emerald, because he saw Scarlet fainting, and she wasn't responding at all.

Grand Empress, because she saw the flicker of what Scarlet felt when her fingers brushed over the RAGNARA stone. She didn't see it coming. All she wanted now was to talk to her late husband. He was the only one, who could help her understand this. Surely, this didn't happen because of the girl being hungry. Her thoughts were puzzled and she was looking for an opportunity to slip away from the darting eyes of everyone to seek her husband. She turned towards the other direction of hallway, but the voice from her behind made her halt in her steps immediately,

"Greeting, My lady."

"You...!" She didn't expect him to be here. She was the eldest member of Azure clan. So, everyone in the WEREALM knew her. But she didn't want this secret to be revealed that she was in touch with the man ahead. Her expressions paled a bit, but she managed to compose herself.

Approaching the man slowly, she fisted a piece of her gown in one of her hands, sweat drops threatening to fall off her temples, and asked in a disturbed yet authoritative tone, "What are you doing here, Luke?"

"My lady, (With a long now in respect), I am invited by King and Queen. I am a werewolf too." She just nodded and hummed in response. Sensing her uneasiness, he came a little closer maintaining a respectable distance, "My Lady, are you okay? You look a bit tensed!" his tone was calm and composed, as it had always been. He had already sensed the lady's thoughts, but still he couldn't blurt it out.

"I am fine." She replied plainly. Her thoughts were switching from her husband to Luke. Besides the late king, only Luke had been aware about the things happening with Scarlet. Maybe, he knew something. She was fighting with herself to enquire this, when he responded suddenly,

"Don't worry. She will be fine soon. From what I had seen, she was affected with that Stone you gifted her."

"How can you be so sure about that?" Her tone didn't flinch this time. She knew that the man ahead of her had trained that little girl under her orders. He was the right one to question at this time.

"I trained her myself. I know her powers. She can't be hurt by anything but herself."

"What does it mean?" The lady questioned, narrowing her brows a bit.

"My lady, you sent me to train her, guard her. I came back to meet you after that. But instead, I found that heavenly book. I didn't mean to pry into that. But that book is all about past lives. My great grandfather told me about that when I was a little pup. So, I sensed it. And I know Scarlet and her powers. She can handle Alpha (Emerald) and his powers too. But sometimes, her own powers can destroy everything. I wanted to consult you regarding this. But then, I was informed that you left the mountain for WEREALM. So, here I am." Luke had briefed everything.

"So, that means..." before the lady could complete her share of words, Luke just nodded whispering softly,

"That stone is somehow related to her."

On the other side, the chief healer of werewolves was already called to check on Scarlet. Only the healer, Eva and Scarlet were inside the room. Sammy had been pacifying his mother, father and Scarlet's parents outside. The healer couldn't order Emerald to leave. He barely managed to check on her. After investigating her pulse, he blurted out stepping two steps back,

"She...she isn't a werewolf."

"What..! Old man, have you lost it? Are you listening to yourself? Of course, she isn't a wolf or what you just said. She is a human." Eva yelled at the healer, making him flinch at his place.

Darting her eyes at Emerald, she left her usual spot besides Scarlet and asked him glaring,

"What kind of a doctor is he? Can't you find a good doctor at least? What's the use of having so much money, Ha?"

Emerald although wanted to curse her right now for using such a bad tone and a commanding way to speak to him, but he let it slide. He didn't want to mess up more. His all focus was on Scarlet. Turning towards the old healer, he used his Alpha tone, "TREAT HER, NOW..!"

The healer found himself in a tight spot and immediately arranged his needles and other stuffs over the side table, inspecting the girl. The moment Emerald used his Alpha tone on him, he knew that he had no other option but to comply.

After inspecting and checking her again and again, he hauled up slowly, stuffed his belongings in his bag, and answered Emerald who had been eye-questioning the old man,

"She.. she had slipped into a dream sleep. She will wake up on her own. We.. we can't do anything other than to wait."

"What the hell? Is this something sane? Are you really a doctor? You..." Eva's shouting stopped, when Emerald stepped closer to the old man.

"How?" Just this one word was enough for the old healer to spill out everything he came to know.

"I sensed some strong energy inside her body. Something which is old, very old and strong, not of WEREALM (he said the last words as a mere whisper so that Eva couldn't hear him). She is taking time to fight with it, or getting in flow with it, I am sure about that." "When will she wake up?" The next question buzzed in the old healer's ears, making him sweat profusely. He had ready sensed that the new Luna meant so much to Alpha. He had to reply him with something fruitful to ensure his survival.

"That.. that I... she can get up today, or it can take up days. The energy is very strong and it will take lot of time to get washed. Till then, it's better if she stays asleep. Her different powers are fighting amongst each other."

Emerald understood that this was because of the RAGNARA stone, while Eva was still having a very hard time to digest the things. She was feeling like an alien in these people by now. The words they were using to describe everything were not fitting into her system. All she could do was just wait for that old healer to leave. She initially wanted to ask Emerald, but then peeling at his odd expressionless face, dropped the idea and switched on to Sammy.

The old man and Emerald both left the room, while the later explained everything to people outside. Everybody appeared inside. Eva's eyes were glued at Sammer. Finding a rock-hard glare struck over him, Sammy tilted his head towards her side only to find her gesturing him with eyes, giving him a 'You-better-explain-me-everything' look.
