Anything For You -
Chapter 144
"Kill her? I... I can't do it. I love her. I can't kill her." Leevon started whimpering. His lips were trembling and he was sputtering.
"It's your own choice, Leevon. You can only free her soul from the Blood Pact by killing her." The monk said with a downcasted. Certainly, he was also feeling the pain, Leevon was enduring at the moment.
"Is there no alternative way? Like, I can... I can stay away from her for the whole of my life. I want her to live her life happily. I can't kill her... please." Leevon begged the monk, while tears started to roll down his brown orbs.
"It's the only way. When you bounded her soul, the only way to free her is to kill her with your own hands. And for that falling in love was also necessary. At that time, you wanted her to feel the pain of getting betrayed by the one she loves wholeheartedly, but you also have to suffer now." The monk said with a disdain-filled gaze.
"But, how would I? I wanted to marry her, even if she is a vampire. I wanted was a good life. I am a human. I can't kill her". Leevon's words made him look pathetic.
"Because she loves you, and you love her. And only you can kill her. I know she is a vampire. But you imposed that blood pact. Only if you kill her, you would be able to free her from this. She can reincarnate again, and live her life happily, without any ill-fate. Think about it." The monk tried to reason with Leevon.
"What if she doesn't reincarnate? What if her soul never found a body again?" Leevon's questions made the monk tongue-tied. The latter didn't reply. Instead, he reasoned,
"I don't know that. But if you want to put a pause to all this cycle of lives and deaths, you have to kill her. And for that, use this." The monk said forwarding a weapon to Leevon.
The weapon was made of some special material. Leevon had never witnessed anything like that. It was a dagger, an antic one as if cast by hands, and certain words imprinted on its handle, which Leevon wasn't able to read. He looked at the shiny sharp edges of the dagger, and then at the monk.
The monk immediately understood his concerns and said that he was waiting for this day for centuries. He added that he had safeguarded the weapon since the blood pact was in action. And was waiting for Leevon to find him.
"The dagger is made out of the same sword that she pierced through your heart. The material used is ZIRACIDIUM, which she used. And it's coated with your demon blood at the edges. Now, I give it to you. You must safeguard it. Make sure that this dagger doesn't end up in the wrong hands." The monk suggested Leevon be extra careful, while he handed him the dagger.
"What would happen if it ended up with someone else?" Leevon was calculating all the possibilities and probabilities. He wanted to know everything about the weapon, that he was going to make use of to kill his love.
"Think about it, Leevon. You were killed with this a powerful demon; destructive and strong enough to take down the whole world if he desired. But it was your weakness when smeared with a fairy's blood. Now it not only is drenched in her blood but yours too. In other words, a part of you both is always stuck with it, creating it the most powerful weapon in this world.
The vampires are immortal beings. They can only be killed using silver weapons. But Calista is a royal blooded vampire; the only one of its kind, after her father. She can't be killed merely by stabbing with a silver weapon. Only a weapon of pure silver pierced through her heart can hurt her. But it would also make her drift into an endless sleep.
She; can't be killed for a vampire. But, as her soul is captive in the Blood Pact, so, we have a chance to kill her and also to end this blood pact. Only this dagger smeared with your demon blood, her fairy blood, and your human blood, taken from your heart can kill her.
So, if this weapon landed with someone else, it holds enough power to kill all the supernatural beings who are ordinary as compared to demons and fairies." Monk briefed the reason for immense powers contained in that dagger.
Leevon looked at the dagger, it's sharp edges piercing his eye-balls. Some stains of blood could still be spotted over it. He could even feel the destructive power of it as if the hatred ran through his veins. He observed the wooden handle; some scratches were still visible. He started to have the same flashes but could feel the pain this time; as if he was just stabbed again.
"Should I just.... Stab her?" Leevon muttered, his eyes never left the curved edges of the dagger.
"No. You have to coat it with a mixture of pure silver and your blood first. After that, it will only be effective for twelve hours. You have to then stab it right into her heart as deeper as you can. Make sure, it stays into the organ for at least a fraction of seconds to get coated with her vampire blood. Only then, she would be free." The monk said.
"But why my blood? It's already covered with my blood from a previous life!" Leevon questioned.
"That is demon blood; the life that initiated Blood Pact. And now, it will be human blood; the life which would end the Blood Pact. The same applies to Calista."
"Fine. I... I need some time to think about it. I will go back now." Leevon hauled up slowly, hoping that the truth is revealed, and there was no reason for him to stay here anymore. He peered at the monk once again, just to give him a chance to say that everything was a joke, a story, and nothing was true, that he wouldn't have to kill Calista, that he could be treated without all this. But all his hopes went into the deepest pit of reality, only to be buried there forever.
"Leevon, I want you to remember that I never wanted the truth to be revealed like this. But, fate is the controller. We are all puppets. I am doing my part. You have to do yours. It's for everyone's betterment, son." The monk patted his shoulder. In the whole night, he had addressed Leevon as a son; a gesture of belonging, love, and care. Leevon never wanted to bond with him. At least, not now.
He just nodded in agreement and secured the dagger into his pockets acted wrapping it into the red cloth, which was given by the Monk. The cloth also had some words written over it, in the same dialect. Leevon narrowed his brows, and didn't ponder the matter. He didn't want to get involved in this anymore. It was already more than enough for today and his remaining life.
All he had been reckoning was, how he would kill the only girl he loved, and how he would live his remaining life in remorse.
He slowly exited the but, and heaved a long sigh. Breathing had also been an exertion to him. Just for once again, he hoped to talk to the monk, to let him say that someone else could do this job of killing. He turned back to the hit, only to be surprised. The but disappeared, like it was never here. All the things turned into an illusion.
Leevon looked here and there, but all he saw was empty ground with no human or animal. Only the brown bushes swirled with air now and then. The lake from earlier was just a normal pond with stagnant water, and the moon wasn't round also. Everything gave off the aura of nothingness.
He was baffled. "Don't waste time, Leevon. You have only two days. Hurry up." He heard a loud voice in his eardrums bringing him back to reality.
Talking hasty steps, he approached the horse tied to the same tree; sleeping. He patted its back lightly, and the animal started neighing. He untied the rope and provided some water to the horse. Afterward, hoping over the horse, he looked back once again, and rode out of the Carica forest; worries, pain, guilt- all killing him slowly.
