"Miss Carol! Are you listening to yourself? Miss Carol...how can she be here? She is supposed to be with Grandma in the Mountains. Did you check on the body?" Emerald creased his brows and pinched his temples. "Alpha! the clothes, the etiquettes, and the signs are all similar with a royal attendant. She is Miss Carol." Jack fought hard with his words, but in the end, the truth was all he could deliver.

"Jack, I am asking you one last time. Did...YOU...checked, or any other guards?" emerald stressed the word 'You' while his mind was getting anxious contemplating the dangers that his dear Grandma would probably be in...if Carol was found in the Azure Clan Stream. To his utter surprise, Jack only nodded his head and glanced at his worried face, gesturing him to hurry and look. Emerald thought for a second, looked at sleeping, Scarlet,

"Fine! You go ahead. I will be there in a second. And call the royal healer to check on Miss Carol. I wish she is fine." Jack nodded and excused himself, while Emerald secured the door, and fetched his clothes from the nearby wardrobe. Unlike other days, he didn't pay much attention to the combination...and rather chose randomly whatever there was in his line of sight.

His hurried actions disturbed Scarlet and she opened her eyes, only to find him stepping out of the bathroom dressed in all black attire, with wet dripping hairs. Without even her knowledge, she licked her lips seductively, and Emerald chuckled.

Not being cognizant of the reason behind his chuckles, she stepped out of the warm blanket and sat like a kid raising one of the eyebrows in mid-air. In the meantime, Emerald was done with his dressing and hair, all ready to attend to people. Turning towards her, he smiled and approached her.

Inhaling his minty breath mixed with chocolate, she closed her eyes. Emerald planted a soft peck over her temples,

"Good morning, Love. I would have taken care of your needs, but right now something else wants my attention badly. So, maybe next time." He was just about to step away and make his way to the concerned place, but Scarlet held his wrist tightly almost dragging him into her, "What needs, Alpha?"

"Love, this is my room. (Pointing towards the huge mirror), whatever you did a moment ago, I noticed it from there. And... don't lick your lips like that. Only I have the right to do so." He whispered the last words in her ears and a dark stain of pink immediately found its way on her cheeks.

"Oh Goddess, I never knew you would be so cute." Emerald flirted more and she got him playfully. Diverting from the topic, Scarlet enquired, "What happened to Miss Carol?"

This question took Emerald off guard. All this while, he thought she was fast asleep, but here she was questioning him. Since he loved her so deeply, lying wasn't an option. And telling the truth would make her anxious. She had already been behaving strangely since she regained consciousness, and now he was afraid of her reaction over every tiny thing.

Cupping her cheeks, Emerald looked right into her set of curious eyes,

"Love, she will be fine. Jack found a body floating in our clan River. It may not be Miss Carol. I still must check it."

"What if it is Miss Carol?" There she goes again. She was never satisfied with half-answers, and Emerald had already been aware of this fact since the day they started dating. Huffing a mouthful of air, he tapped his fingers and stood straight towering over her sitting figure, while the girl kept darting at him from the same place with her eyes raised to match his level,

"You will not be resting here if I don't tell you, right?" She gestured 'no' shaking her head to all possible directions.

"Well, then get yourself washed and get ready within fifteen minutes. We are leaving for the royal infirmary right now." He ordered.

Beaming with hopeful and satisfied expressions, Scarlet gave him the best of her smiles and planted a quick peck over his cheeks before flowing away into the bathroom for a quick shower.

Emerald chuckled and mumbled,

"This brat..!" and heard her yelling...

"I can hear you, Alphaaaa..."

"Thirteen minutes you have now..." He yelled back and awaited her arrival.

"You need to check on her properly. Her body looks like she has been in the water for too long to endure. Besides the weather was too bad. I don't want anything to happen to her." Jack took command of everything. Retrieving Carol's floating body from the Azure Clan Stream, he immediately rushed her to the royal infirmary. The news was also delivered to King and Queen, and they were on their way to the infirmary.

"Beta, she...she is hypothermic right now. She was in the cold water for more than four hours which is awfully bad for a human. I don't think we would be able to save her." The royal dealer reported after checking on Carol, registering her dropping heart rate, and vitals.

"I don't know anything, Mr. Morson. But we must do it. Alpha would never appreciate that a total attendant; that too of our Grand Empress died in this royal infirmary under your treatment. I think I needn't describe to you his ways of handling things when he is raged. So, do whatever you can do. We must save her." Jack ordered pacing back and forth. Looking at the bamboozled divers who helped take out Carol from the River, he sighed and added,

"Watch...watch...watch..! What are you all looking at? Go and wash with warm water and get changed. The water was freezing. I don't want any other member lying here waiting to get treated for hypothermia." The divers flew away to their respective quarters and bowed in respect when they spotted King and Queen followed by Emerald and Scarlet.

Jack was so engrossed in the things that he didn't notice the four people and continued slamming orders when he felt a tight grip over his right shoulder. Turning back in the speed of light, he was startled to find Emerald and bowed immediately to everyone. "What happened Jack? Why is Carol here like this?" The Queen enquired stepping ahead and approaching Carol who was lying over a huge bed tucked under two blankets, all cold and shivering unconsciously mumbling something inaudible. "We have no clue regarding that Queen Mother. All we can do is just wait." Jack responded sparing another anxious glance over Carol's cold body when the royal healer, Mr. Morson fed her a spoonful of some green potion that didn't go into her mouth much and instead spilled out; the most of it.

"Isn't he the same doctor from the other day?" Scarlet asked Emerald who just blinked his eyes in agreement not saying anything else.

"I don't understand. If aunt Carol is here, then who is with Grandma? I mean...she is always with Grandma, she is like her shadow. And now she is here in this condition, what could have exactly happened? Why didn't Grandma send any messages or something?" Summer stepped ahead questioning his self as well as to the others. His questions seemed to strike something and Emerald called for his royal guard ordering,

"All of you, leave for Dawn Mountains now. Confirm the safety of Grand Empress, and if anything is found suspicious...take her along with you. And if she resists...tell her that it's the order of Alpha Emerald. Go, NOW..."

Everybody was taken off guard with his commanding voice, but none questioned. If it's the Alpha tone, nobody dared to question. Clenching his one fist tightly, Emerald held Scarlet's hand making her hiss in slight pain. She spared him a glance and understood that what he needed the most now was support. Moving closer to him, she clasped his arm and intertwined their fingers gesturing that everything will be fine.

Meanwhile, Carol coughed hard and spat out water over the floor. When the healer saw this, he sighed and thanked the heavens for sparing his life shouting,

"Aloha, Miss Carol...she...she is regaining consciousness."

"What did you just say? Did you hold her captive? You...kidnapped the Grand Empress? Do you perhaps know what does the title of a Grand Empress means? She is the ruling Empress, she is still in power. And you... just kidnapped her!" Dankein yelled on top of his lungs at Silvan, while Nexus had already been escorted to his room in the Dark Alley.

Silvan sneered and acted with an uncaring attitude shrugging his shoulders in response. Approaching Dankein with swift paces, he paused just a few inches from his figure suggesting,

"I have my reasons for which you king Dankein Cosh, are going to reward me later. You are just ignorant right now. So, without any further exaggerated conversation, arrange for the Lady's stay. As you said, she is an Empress. She would expect you to ensure her safety." Silvan left while Dankein gritted his teeth thinking of the consequences that SIESTA VALLEY was going to face for this reckless happening.
