Anything For You
Chapter 169

"Pass me the towels." The royal healer Mr. Morson drew one of his hands in the direction of Alpha Emerald since he was facing his back, and asked for the towel to clean off the sweat drops forming over Miss Carol's sleeping face. A while ago when she coughed out water, he assumed her retaining her consciousness; but it all turned out to be a false alarm. Now here everyone was....still standing in the same infirmary room...with hopeful eyes, all darted at Mr. Morton who was doing all sorts of ordeals he could to bring back Carol from her unconscious state straight to the WEREALM. Finding his hand struck in the mid-air and still not provided with the towel he asked for, Mr. Morton yelled out,

"Don't you hear me? I said pass me that hot water-soaked towel, you punk." And he turned, his body stiffened at the sight of raged Emerald looking at him; more precisely glaring at him with narrowed eyes. The healer gulped his saliva, and one of the attendants passed him the hot towel. He was so frightened that instead of using that towel to wipe off Carol's face, he used it to cleanse himself. Emerald just glared at him one more time,

"Mr. Morson, I need you to understand the urgency of the situation here. Every moment Miss Carol spends in this state...we are more prone to the dangers, and drifting away from the truth. So, please do anything you need to, but bring her back. And I am being polite this time." Saying that Emerald left the infirmary with Sammer tagged behind him. The King and Queen had readily left for their chambers.

The unconscious lady Carol was left with Mr. Morson, some attendant nurse wolves, Scarlet, and Eva; the girls just starting at her figure when Eva's eyes traveled in the direction the table over which Carol's drenched-dripping clothes were discarded. Moving slowly towards the clothes, she fixated her glance at one spot and kept on staring at the shiny thing from underneath the clothes. Speculating something, Eva was about to touch the shining thing in that still wet waistband of Carol, when she called Scarlet, "Hey, Scarf! Look here. There is something in the waistband of this lady and it's...shining." Scarlet whipped her head from Carol to Eva, who was standing almost towering the clothes. Warning her in anticipation, Scarlet hurriedly pulled Eva behind her, "Stay back, Eva. We don't know what that thing is. And we aren't supposed to touch anything like that. She is a direct royal attendant to the Grand Empress and if she has something tucked like that... it only means that the thing is damn important." Eva blinked her round eyes for a moment, and teased Scarlet,

"My God! (Elbowing her with a cocky smile plastered over her face). I must say...if anyone watches you talking like that...they...will believe that you are the queen here. You talk like it's a matter of life and death. Chill, and step aside... let me see this..." Eva was being adamant about checking the thing. She had ways been this curious since childhood.

Just as her fingers were in the vicinity of that shining thing, Carol's muffled voice landed in Scarlet's ears making her turn immediately. Both the girls came closer to the lady in a moment of snap and held her hands. Carol was still in a deep state of non-awareness and mumbling something. Scarlet crouched down to her level, and kept her ear just above her lips, only to hear her mumble,

"My lady... Don't worry...I will...come back....with...king...and both the.... princes....to res...rescue...you."

Scarlet felt ashen as the words landed into her ears and her brain quickly processed everything. Gesturing Eva to call Emerald and Sammer, she kept on holding onto Carol and leaned once again to find something more valuable from those muffles. ~SIESTA VALLEY~

Valor had been pacing back and forth anxiously, while Alfie was resting over the rug placed in one corner of the room. The little cat purred and stretched its body raising its butt in the air and the forelimbs perfectly parallel and glued to the floor, yawning hard. Peeking at pacing Valor, the cat meowed and took slow and soft steps towards him only to take a few rounds of his moving figure with its tail curled up in the air.

Valor's pace never stopped even on spotting the cat and he was fidgeting with his fingers. The cat cleaned its whiskers and looked at him with its neck stretched all up giving him a cute look and urging him to pick it up. The man sighed and crouched down to the cat's level and bundled it in his arms. His steps again muddled and he started moving thinking how would he explain that blunt move made by Silvan; kidnapping the Grand Empress from her castle; to all the royal werewolves when Trevor came in after knocking two times and not getting any response since the man ahead was engrossed in his thoughts.

"Your Highness! Mr. Silvan seeks your audience," Trevor reported staying a few steps back from the imaginary path Dankein was moving on. Stopping in his tracks, he whipped his head towards Trevor,

"Did you learn anything? I mean any new information?" Trevor just shook his head negatively, and this raged the man even more. Using his one hand that wasn't occupied in carrying Alfie, Dankein gestured for Trevor to allow Silvan inside the room. "What have you done, Silvan? You put me in a compromising position with the werewolves." Dankein jeered at Silvan with rage and fury dripping from his eyes.

Silvan laughed softly; barely a chuckle- a dark one, and responded ruffling Alfie's fur,

"I...am not a King. I am a dark soul who had a deal with you...which...I fulfilled at all costs. You got what you wanted. It's all that matters. And why are so afraid of the wolves? You have good relations with them. Just safeguard and hide that old lady properly. You will be a free man. Besides, I suggest you use some of the Wolfsbane too. She won't be able to communicate with the other wolves, and you will have nothing to be worried about. What say?"

"Instead of kidnapping her, you should just have killed her. At least, it won't have pestered me then. Anyhow, what do you want now?" Dankein asked Silvan keeping Alfie down on the floor, but the cat just wanted to longer in his lap and cuddle, which it surely can't get any time soon. Shooting Alfie away, Dankein poured two glasses of wine and handed one of them to Silvan.

Taking a sip of the liquid from that designer glass, Silvan made a slurping sound,

"Well, I am done here. So I would like to have my freedom back. I mean I am a human now, I have humane needs and desires. I will roam like a free man. Also, I would love it if you allow Nexus to come with me. You know he can keep me company or else it will be a bit boring with those pathetic humans." Silvan showcased his white teeth making an expression as if the wine just churned his mouth and vitals mouthing, 'It-is-something' raising the glass in the air and tilting it to show his human behavior.

"I won't allow you to take over any other human. You can leave, but no one else can. I don't want you guys to roam and hunt innocents for their souls and bodies." Dankein rejected immediately clinking his glass with the one in Silvan's hand. "Oh, then I have something that can help you with your mission," Silvan said.

"Enlighten me." Dankein kept his glass over the bar table and took a sneak over the cabinet that harbored all sorts of alcohol brands.

"If that helps you, I want Nexus in return...and before you reject my second time, let me assure you that Nexus won't desire any living human body. If it's a body, it will do the need, no matter living or dead; but of course, dead for only a few hours. He is a clean man, and won't appreciate any rotten garbage sack of organs packed in a boiled potato of a body." Silvan said his part emptying the wine glass and wanting more.

Dankein picked up another bottle of wine from the cabinet and gave Silvan. "What do you mean by living or dead? You wanted a living human. How come Nexus would do with a dead one?"

"Curious...ha! I like it." Silvan chuckled strangely with a human grin forcing Dankein to imagine what would the real Timothy have looked like, if he had grinned similarly in the past, or if he hadn't been cornered in his own body! But shrugged the thought instantly before it started to remind him, and made him feel guilty of sacrificing a good man.

"Well, I can also use a dead body, but that wasn't possible because of my energy. But Nexus although is a dark soul, yet still doesn't have energies accumulated as I do. He can do with a dead human too. If you provide a dead human body to him, he can enter it and take it over. As you see, the soul is all...what is needed to keep the body going." Silvan explained and Dankein nodded.

"That is your benefit. What's in there for me?" Dankein interrogated, to which Silvan hauled up from his seat and whispered,

"Make friends with the girl you have been yearning for centuries, My king. She is in the human world. Make her fall for you. Visit her, as this time...Grand Empress won't meddle in." Stepping aside from Dankein, Silvan made his way outside saying, "By the way, thanks for the wine, and the dead human body for Nexus too."
