Anything For You
Chapter 184

**Baby I am Yours By Arctic Monkeys**

"I didn't know you love her," Jenny said almost as a whisper, complaint, or what Jack was having a hard time understanding. Since he saw her rushing outside the swimming compound, he followed her after attending Emerald's call feeling that something was strange with her behavior for she didn't look at him like she used to since he moved to the university almost twelve days ago.

Jack had already been attracted to Jenny's personality, but couldn't risk anything further. He was a soldier on a mission destined to fulfill on behalf of his Alpha, His King. But Jenny was making him lower his guard whenever she looked at him with those affectionate, soft eyes that held millions of alien emotions he was having a hard time coping with.

"Jenny, everyone likes Lu...Scarlet." Jack said almost fighting an inner battle to touch Jenny's shoulder and his heart won in the end when his palms rested over her shoulders, but the girl scooted away almost instantly. She looked at him with eyes so red that he was starting to feel a stab. What the hell was wrong was him!

"But you were with her when she was swimming, Jack. I saw you the other day, the way you looked at her body when she opened the door of her house in barely a bra. You..." Jenny was fighting an inner battle too. She liked Jack since the day she first saw him, first took his manly hands into hers for a handshake, first inhaled his cologne, first saw him smiling. God! There were too many firsts for her.

"Jenny...!" Jack moved closer to her figure, his voice dark and almost raged to the verge as if she had not said those words but rather spat out on him and his loyalties. He never had looked at Scarlet that way. She was his Luna, A motherly figure for a wolf in the pack. He respected her and was obliged to protect her during so much going on already. But could he make Jenny understand those things? Why was he even bothering about this? Why did he care?

Jenny darted a strained look at Jack's face. Finding him over the edge, she realized the depth and effect of her words, but her eyes could not be deceiving. She saw them together. 'They weren't close. They were not doing anything at all. And Scarf was her best friend!' She told herself before looking up at Jack once again.

A new set of words took shape of a sentence which she wanted to let him know, but before that Jack's phone buzzed again, this time with two missed calls from Emerald. He didn't even notice when he ignored the calls. Attending the call, his expressions turned way darker than earlier and all Jenny saw was him stuffing the phone in his rear pant pocket and killing the distance between them.

Jack suddenly pulled Jenny closer to his frame and wrapped his arms around her trembling body mumbling,

"Shhh...there is nothing like that, Jen. F**k. I hate to say that, but you are a sweet distraction which I can't afford right now." Planting a soft peck over her temples, he released her from his grip and turned to leave, and disappeared among people. Jenny blinked her teary eyes coping hard to shape the words he just said to her and a stain of pink found its way over her cheeks when she realized that he kissed her and called her a sweet distraction. She loved the name Jen he called her with. Things will proceed slowly and eventually. She hoped.

~SIESTA VALLEY-

"You took a long time to return, My Lord," Trevor said grabbing Dankein's overcoat that was fully covered with snow and preparing to hang it over the nearby hanger. The weather in Siesta Valley had been notorious this year. Snow was early and strong this year. Dankein nodded before announcing, "I will leave again after two hours, Trevor. Prepare the horse for that. But...before you ask something else, I will be back before tomorrow. After that, I will stay in the valley." Trevor nodded understanding. He knew Dankein wouldn't share any details of his visits anywhere with him, so he didn't hope for any further answers to his unattended questions.

"And by the way, If you ever visit The Human World, don't forget to stop by Silvan and Nexus. I kind of developed a bond with the villa they are in. It's lavish." Dankein said to the leaving Trevor and found a smile appearing over his face when he mentioned Nexus. Poor Nexus.

Trevor left and Dankein fetched the red pouch from his pocket. Taking out the piece of scaly skin he had stolen from Scarlet, he looked at it insanely and found the skin still afresh. Even after three days, it was as fresh as it was plucked just now. Something was strange about it and he needed to find it as soon as possible. Moving the piece closer to his nose, he spared it a soft sniff and found the smell familiar. "Emerald Azure!"

He mumbled and found the smell of Alpha Emerald lingering over Scarlet's mermaid skin. He had inspected her neck and found no marks. That meant she wasn't marked by that wolf yet. If his smell still lingered on her skin, it only meant that he must have kissed her when she had shifted. He knows!

"Shit! This isn't a piece of good news." Dankein muttered because he was certain that if Emerald left his scent over Scarlet's shifted from then he would have found out about his (Dankein's) involvement with Scarlet on the campus. And Emerald Azure was known for his character. It wouldn't take him much of a time to put two and two together. Darkness leered into Dankein's eyes when he said,

"I won't lose this time, Emerald."

He left immediately grabbing the overcoat from the hanger and stuffing the red pouch into its long pocket, while Trevor was left stunned in the hallway looking at his lord leaving just a moment after ordering him to make arrangements for his short stay. But Trevor chose not to meddle in his business and busied himself.

-WITMOURN RAFT KINGDOM~

Once again, Dankein was standing at the territory of The Witmourn Raft Kingdom along with his horse, but this time the fog wasn't that much dense as it was earlier. The insides of the Kingdom were visible. Entering the Kingdom, Dankein left his horse to the same spot and proceeded towards the same house.

His feet stopped moving once he reached the house and stepped inside the room where he had a strange encounter with the swooshing wind. The night was about to fall and he was running out of time. It was the last day. I need to hurry. Grabbing the piece of shining porcelain skin from the red pouch, Dankein raised it in mid-air calling someone,

"I brought what you needed. Have it. But I would prefer some meals and a good piece of information after that." His face had a grin as always. The wind started whooshing again and the piece of skin that he had been holding flew in the air, shattered into little pieces, and fell over a spot where Dankein could spot nothing vanishing into the ground. His smile widened. 'Looks like finally, the wait is over. He thought.

Soon, the flat ground rose and a coffin appeared out of it. The coffin was way too old as if it had been buried thousands of years ago, but all clean and carved with the same wood as the house was made of. The lights suddenly lit in the house and the dust-covered corners got cleared of any signs of dreary.

A lady emerged out of the coffin with the elegant black dress, a piece of black necklace around her neck, black heels; probably older than the ones that people used medieval era. Her face was beautiful and a sight to behold, her eyes dark, round, and big as if they had survived millions of years. The gown fitted perfectly her curves hugging tightly and her heels ticked over the floor when she first set foot over it.

The lady looked at herself, her clothes, and touched her necklace, her face, her hands, and arms, and grinned. The big black eyes darted towards Dankein who was sitting over the same chair he used to always with a face as calm as the stagnant water with a wine glass in one hand and eyes fixated over the lady.

Keeping the glass over the nearby cabinet, he hauled up and approached the lady who was still occasionally inspecting herself,

"Must you be that much dramatic?" The lady's lips formed into a charming-alluring smile reaching near her ear lobes and she caressed her long black hairs. Killing the distance between them, she touched Dankein's chest right over where his heart was beating and looked straight into his eyes,

"I like being Dramatic, King Dankein."

The duo smiled at each other and Dankein touched her cheeks to which she followed his actions and found him calling her name after several thousand years, "You didn't change a bit, Evanora."
