Anything For You -
Chapter 93
The heels were tick-tocking over the solid floor of this high ranked section of the village, in which powerful witches like Evanora and her friends used to reside, since they were the most respected ones. Her heels made a loud sound, despite of the fact that her movements were way too gentle, subtle and she carried the aura of an elegant lady.
In times like those, anybody who witnessed such a lavish surroundings would be amazed, that people of these times also lived in Prosperity and lead a lavish lifestyle. But still it only applied to the ones holding reputation, power and not to forget money, which Evanora never lacked being a witch prodigy.
In her earlier days, she used to get money in return of favours. But with passing times, her interests changed and she used to acquire different things in return of her help. Regarding Egon, she had already decided to ask him, what she took a fantasy over. But with Estella, she was confused of what to demand. Looks like her new mission was going to supply the fruits she desired.
Slowly and swiftly, she passed that residency and reached over the other section of village near the entrance. Abruptly, her steps halted and eyes moved, almost piercing through everything, and every grain of sand present over there stopping over a particular slot and getting stuck as if she was trying to take out something from there.
Moving her eyes here and there, she confirmed the presence of nobody and took two more steps, standing exactly over that spot. Closing her eyes, she raised both her arms above her head pointing towards the sky and within a second, rain drops started to fall down kissing the cheeks of ground.
Smiling sarcastically, she sniffed the scent, the aroma that rain water carried along with it and her smile widened, reaching up to the corners of her mouth almost touching the cheek bones near the ears. Crouching down to the ground, she took a fistful of sand which was now converted into mud because of the rain, and pried into the contents.
With a smug smile over her red lips, she dropped the contents there and moved further not before clicking her fingers and making the rain stop immediately. The wet ground covered with mud became as dry as a dead leaf again, giving off the vibes like it had never rained down.
"Hmm...le.. t's find out what you are exactly up to." She mumbled those words and moved ahead. Being a witch prodigy has its own perks, and this was so heavenly true in case of Evanora.
Exiting from the SARAINE VILLAGE, she now crossed one more village and entered the other one. The same one where that snake-charmer had been staying. She was hurrying now, her pace was getting faster with each and every step she had been taking. People in this village were ordinary ones, the normal humans, some tribals, some locals. They weren't aware about EVANORA's true identity since nobody had seen her except those whom she had helped back then.
Nobody could recognize her, still she disguised herself as a woman in her mid fourties so as to avoid any chaos and problems that she could get into if she became a girl. Passing over the streets, she asked a man randomly about that snake-charmer. The man creased his brows first and looked directly into her eyes, but then didn't speak anything and just gestured her to go ahead and then ask someone else.
"Weird fellow." She whispered those curse words to herself. Not because she was afraid of getting that man raged, but because she wanted to get a hold on that snake-charmer and wasn't ready to alert him at any cost.
Moving further, she got the help of an elderly lady in knowing the hide-out of that charmer and then decided to attack. It's the best to attack your enemy when he is unaware about your arrival and your attack. It gives you a benefit. But Evanora wasn't a heartless witch. Although she was ready to attack, still she wanted to give her opponent a chance to try and win over, which by any chance wasn't going to happen.
Without any prior notice, she barged into his shabby house, and immediately felt disgusted. Covering her mouth and nose because of the pungent smells, that appeared to be of dried blood, decomposed animals and rotting bodies, she just wanted to puke right there. Holding onto herself, she changed her appearance to her true self and looked here and there, almost scanning each and every corner of that hut.
It looked like this man was so engrossed in magic that he never cared to clean his house. It now was smelling like a pile of rotten creatures. Also, he appeared to be present nowhere. Just when she was about to take a step further, she was glued to her spot with a raging sound coming from her behind that boomed into her ear drums,
"Who the hell are you? How ... how dare you to sneak in my house. Turn around right now, if you don't want your little life to be lost in my hands."
The man said or warned her almost in one breath. Anybody could tell that he was beyond raged. But Evanora was Evanora. She had handled numerous people like him, then who was he to scare her. She didn't even flinch from her place and kept her feet glued to the same spot with her back facing towards him.
That man became even more raged. He didn't know who this lady was. She looked elegant from behind, as she put on an elegant black gown which was literally sweeping the dirty floor of his house. Her figure also was enough to let him know that she wasn't an ordinary human, but someone with powers. The only thing which he wasn't able to conclude was, who exactly was she!
And then his mind flooded with the past days' happenings, alerting him to all his deepest cores. He thought, and thought... 'Could she be the green snake!?'
Just when he was about to attack her, thinking of her as the snake-woman, Evanora turned oy slowly and looked at him with her sharp gaze. Snapping her fingers in mid-air, she dodged the attack and laughed sarcastically saying,
Nobody could recognize her, still she disguised herself as a woman in her mid fourties so as to avoid any chaos and problems that she could get into if she became a girl. Passing over the streets, she asked a man randomly about that snake-charmer. The man creased his brows first and looked directly into her eyes, but then didn't speak anything and just gestured her to go ahead and then ask someone else.
"Well, I beg your pardon. But.... (She stopped talking and moved two steps ahead towards him, directly looking into his eyes as if she would suck his soul, and then continued saying), I am not the one you think of me."
Before he could make any move, she handled him in mid-air, and made her move leaving the man almost stunned and shocked. He was scared witnessing the extent of powers this lady possessed. Never in his weirdest of dreams, he had thought of coming face-to- face again with her.
Hanging in the air, he roared at her,
"What the hell do you want from me? Lower me down, you witch. What are you doing here?? Get the hell out of here...! You..."
Before he could curse her more, she lowered her index finger towards the ground, and the man kissed the ground with a loud thud, which seemed that he had broken one or two of his bones. He was still lying on the ground over his belly, when she merrily moved her index finger towards an arm chair kept in a distant corner of the house, and the chair responded like a living creature.
It came in her sight and stopped near her figure. Clicking her fingers, she cleaned it and sat down like a queen. The man over the ground was trying to raise his head, but he was glued. It looked like someone was overpowering him and stopping him from getting up, which was no other than Evanora herself.
Leaning over the chair, resting easily and sitting cross-legged over the chair, she looked at him, and smiled with a sarcastic smile, raising only one eyebrow. Allowing him to raise his head only still being glued to the spot, she talked playing with her fingers, "What did you think! That you will sneak into my village, steal their footprints, and I will do nothing!!!" she almost roared at the last phrase, making him flinch in terror.
She continued,
"What do you take me for, ha? Do I look like someone, you can mess with easily and get away?"
Crouching down to his level, she held his chin up. Making him look at her raged red eyes, she asked at the top of her anger,
"Did you forget that you are forbidden from entering our village, forbidden from practicing your filthy magic! And yet you dared to Disney both of those commands?? What did you think of yourself, ha??"
She thought that the man would be terrified, but to her utter surprise, he laughed hysterically, like a maniac and looked at her face disgustingly,
"Do you think you can abide me by those stupid commands? Ha ha ha.. Evanora Youngblood, I am not your pet or puppet, who will obey you. I m not bound by your filthy laws, you are in no position to bound me witch."
His words echoed into the dirty, stingy house, and now Evanora was sitting observing his changing expressions.
