Chapter 17

ISHID'S

POV

These days, we were left with confusion. I don't know if I was just paranoid or what but something is going on with Yunifer. If in the past, we tease her, she would get angry and retorted. But now, she would just calmly look at us and nod her head before leaving. I'm sure that it wasn't just me who felt that way toward Yunifer. She had been avoiding us these days and would act as if we were strangers.

Although it was a good idea since we were planning to avoid her for the sake of her health especially since her father has been eyeing her lately who would have thought that she was the first to avoid us? Which is why I conduct a meeting between us three. We were on the rooftop right now, sitting on the chairs while facing each other.

"These days, Yunifer had been acting weird," I said while looking at them with nervousness.

Lawrence nodded his head, seeming to be agreeing with my words. " I also felt that way. When I tried to talk to her, she averted her gaze as if she didn't know me. Just what the hell is going on?"

I glanced at Drake who also spoke. "I thought I wasn't the only one. Did we do something that made her angry?"

His words made us think for minutes before we shook our heads.

"Other than what happened that night, there was none," I said while letting out a helpless sigh.

Drake hummed and pursed his head. "Should we confront her and ask what did we do for her to avoid us like that?"

Lawrence also spoke his opinion. "But isn't this a good thing that she's starting to avoid us? After all, for sure that father planted a spy to spy on every one of our movements. This day, Yunifer won't get implicated."

Drake and I went silent. What he said was right, after all, we know the cruelties of our old man. Who knows what would he do for our mate especially since he hated humans? In his eyes, Samantha deserves to be our Luna and he wanted us to mark her. How could we mark someone who isn't our mate?

I let out a helpless sigh as I felt that my head burst out thinking for a way, especially that what Lawrence said was true but we couldn't help but forget about the words that we say about ignoring her.

Why would I ignore my mate?

Lawrence sighed and nodded his head. "I know that you all are reluctant to ignore her, so why not let's just protect her? In that way, we would know if our father made a move."

Our eyes brightened upon the words that he said.

Then suddenly, I heard my wolf growl. "I want to see my mate."

Hearing this, I let out a heavy sigh. "I know that you felt that way but for sure that Yunifer would ignore us just like she did earlier."

I heard my wolf snicker. "Cowards! Then coax her and ask her what's going on with her these days!"

"Easy for you to say," I answered, making my wolf click his tongue.

"That's why I told you to let me take over the control. I'll coax her." My wolf said, making me sigh.

"Fine." After I said that, I let him take over the control.

YUNIFER'S POV

I noticed that I have been in a low mood these days. Maybe it was because I was rejected to be their mate and choose Samantha instead. These days, I want something to vent my feelings. It was too uncomfortable for me to bear this pain and disappointment. Before my feelings for them would grow, it would much be better if I would cut off these so-called feelings and in that way, I won't be hurt by them even if they would tell me straight into my eyes that they choose Samantha to be their mate. Annoying. Annoying.

I didn't even notice that my eyes slowly change as I gritted my teeth from anger. It wasn't until I became composed that a familiar voice called me.

"Yunifer!"

It was none other than Ishid who happily waved his hands at me as he ran in my direction.

Damn, can't he see that there are students who watch us? Is he trying to make me the topic of the campus for seducing the triplets again?

I suddenly have the urge to beat the s**t out of them.

"What do you want?" I calmly asked while looking at him.

For some reason, this Ishid in front of me had a different vibe but I didn't ask for more about it.

Ishid grinned as he pulled me in his arms, making my eyes wide as I instinctively pushed him away.

"What are you doing?!" I exclaimed while eyeing him.

Ishid seemed not to mind my reaction and instead, he cheerfully looked me in the eyes.

His eyes were different from Ishid's normal eyes. It was pure black.

I heard that if the wolf would take over the body, their eyes would be turned black.

"Are you Ishid's wolf?" I asked while looking at him with a hesitant look.

The wolf seemed not to try hiding the fact that he is Ishid's wolf and even happily introduce himself.

"Yes, I'm Ishid's wolf! My name is Kyle! By the way, you smell good." He happily said.

"Are you a pervert?"

"No, no, I'm not. It seemed that you were trying to avoid us so I'm just here to ask why and what's wrong." Kyle straightforwardly answered while scratching the back of his neck.

Seeing him like this, I couldn't help but chuckle but I immediately hide it. Ishid and his wolf are alike.

I looked at Kyle who was eagerly looking at me, waiting for my answer.

I shook my head and denied his words. "I wasn't avoiding you. My mind was in a mess and I couldn't find a solution to my problem which probably ended me up ignoring you as well as your twins."

Kyle tilted his head to the other side and innocently commented. "Well then, I'll help you find a solution to your problem. In that way, you won't be in a mess and kept thinking about the problem that you can't solve."

I was a bit taken aback when I heard him say that, but in the end, I just shook my head and calmly answered him.

"There's no need to. Besides we aren't that close." I said.

I saw Kyle raise his brows. "But you are my mate."

"A rejected mate." I retorted while looking at him calmly.

I heard him clicked his tongue and his face was filled with dissatisfaction. "It wasn't me who rejected you. Rather it was Ishid. Don't lump me with him since I want you to be my mate."

Hearing this, I couldn't help but be stunned. Then, in the end, I let out a laugh to the point that my physiological tears came out.

"Isn't the two of you the same? After all, you are Ishid's wolf." I said while letting out a laugh.

I saw him stare at me then Kyle helplessly scratched the back of his head and laughed along with me.

Then I looked at him again. "Thank you for making me laugh. You can go now."

Kyle made a pained expression. "You're driving me away after you're done using me?" Then he looked at me as if he was looking at a scumbag.

I couldn't help but laugh. "No, what I meant is that you can go now. I heard that wolves shouldn't be in control of the body for longer."

Kyle nodded his head and solemnly answered. "Indeed. I'll be going now!"

I chuckled as I watched him leave the hallway.

It wasn't until I heard Samantha's voice again.

"Wow, you are a slut aren't you? Trying to seduce my mate, you're disgusting." Samantha said in a loud voice, making others look at us.

More like looked at me. Some of them had excitement in their eyes as if they were excited to watch the show while some others were looking at me with disgust.

I couldn't help but feel embarrassed, at the same time annoyed by Samantha's words.

At first, I was going to ignore her since talking to her and arguing with her is just a waste of saliva, it wasn't until she spoke crudely about my brother that.

"I heard that you have a brother and that you weren't originally come from this place. Did your brother know that he has a sister like you who is a slut and a leg opener? Or maybe... your brother is the same-"

“SHUT THE f**k UP, SAMANTHA!" I roared, not noticing the changes in my eyes as I growled at her, making Samantha flinch upon hearing me roar.

I disregard her small movements and slowly walked in her direction while glaring at her.

"Don't you dare talk to my brother like that, Samantha! I've been trying hard to control my temper every time you would spread false information about me or bully me. However, I can't let you go around bullying or talking badly about my brother. If you dare to do so, I'll kill you." I said with a heavy tone, looking at her with anger.

It wasn't until someone's voice angrily called my name.

"YUNIFER!"

I looked back and saw it was Drake. His eyes were dark as he looked at me.

I let out a mocking laugh. "What?"

"You shouldn't say those words to Samantha. You shouldn't threaten her." Drake calmly said while looking at me.

His words made my heart bleed. I let out a mocking laugh as my eyes slowly reddened.

"Wow, a knight in shining armor trying to save his princess. You two are a match made in heaven. You two should be awarded as best in a couple of years I said with mockery while laughing at Drake.

When I saw Drake's mouth starting to open and seemed to want to explain himself but I didn't let him do so.

I don't want to hear their excuses anymore. I'm tired of dealing with this kind of bullshit.

I glared at Drake and then looked at the twins who were also watching me.

Then I looked at Drake again and said with such a cold tone.

"If you start scolding me about how I treated Samantha, your mate, you should start educating her since her heart is rotten to the core."

"N-No she's not..." He looked panicked and tried to explain but I mercilessly turned my head, leaving them behind.

Now that no one was looking at me anymore, I let my tears slowly fall down my cheeks as I silently sob. I couldn't help but laugh at myself for being like this. Crying like an i***t. Crying for an i***t.

Indeed. Just who am I to deserve to be loved when even I, myself can't even love myself?

I should stop thinking about this, and think about them. I never thought that loving someone could be tiring too.

I pursed my lips and wiped the tears on my cheeks.

DRAKE'S POV

s**t. s**t. s**t! I messed up again! I didn't mean to say it like that. I didn't mean to hurt her. When I saw her eyes reddening, I felt my chest tighten.

My wolf, Alastair angrily shouted at me. "You imbecile! How dare you hurt our mate!"

I shook my head. "I wasn't... It wasn't supposed to be that way. I was trying to stop her from threatening Samantha especially since she comes from a powerful background and who knows what they would do to Yunifer after hearing that Samantha was being threatened!"

"Then why didn't you explain it to her!" My wolf roared.

"I was about to but she didn't give me the chance to do so... What shall I do now?" I helplessly said as I covered my face with my hands.

My wolf didn't answer, instead, he just clicked his tongue and snickered.
