Betrayed By Everyone Loved by Four Bonus Chapter 24

"Are we really doing this?" Lila whispered to me.

"Of course we are." I whispered back.

I can't believe were actually doing this. All of us. Taking a test. A pregnancy test.

Why did I let myself be talked into this?

I looked over at Cece as she inspects the array of tests in front of us. She looks so stressed out. If it were me in her shoes.. I would want this too.

That's why I let them talk me into this.

Besides, what are the chances the rest of us are pregnant? I mean, I don't know about the other girls, but I shouldn't be.

Right? Yeah, no way. I mean, I just had my period-

Wait.. when was the last time I had my period? Did I have one last month? I had to of right? Why can't I remember?

I'm sure I'm just being paranoid. Besides, even if I did miss a period, it doesn't mean I'm pregnant. I'm under a lot of stress with juggling life these days. Professor Homak keeps me busy, not to mention my SA program, or all of my boyfriends. Yeah, I'm sure I'm okay.

"Should we do this one?" Cece asked as she grabbed one.

I grabbed it from her hand, and started to read it.

"Ugh! Just pick one will you?" April groaned.

Cece snapped her head to our friend.

"I want to get one I can trust." She said

"Just get a couple for yourself. If one is a dud, then it should be fine." April said.

"Are you sure?" Cece asked uncertain.

April grabbed probably ten tests, and then looked at Cece.

"Yes, I am sure. Now let's go." She said.

After we all paid for our tests, we all piled into April's car.

We decided to go to Lila's apartment. Caleb apparently won't be home for a while, so it gives us all enough time, and space to deal with whatever Cece's outcome is. Plus, it's very close to my apartment so I won't have too long of a walk home.

The four of us shuffled into Lila's apartment. We took turns in the bathroom to take our tests. All of us took two, except Cece who took three. While we waited for them to sit, we all sat in Lila's living room. In a circe on the floor.

"So, have you said anything to JJ yet?" I asked Cece.

Cece shook her head

*No. I have been avoiding him as much as possible since that day." She said

"Cece!" Erika scolded her. "Why would you do that?" She asked.

"I don't know okay!" Cece said as she glared at Erika.

I rubbed Cece's shoulder hoping to calm her some.

"I just. JJ is the first guy since." She trailed off.

All of us waited patiently as Cece sniffled, and took a deep breath.

"He's the first. Period. I was so young when I was raped.

They stole my virginity. I was so terrified of everything, and everyone after that. I never.. I never dated. I never went out. I didn't even talk to anyone, or have friends. Until you guys." She explained.

"And we all love you very much." Lila chimed in.

Cece gave us a small smile making the rest of us beam at her in return.

"I didn't expect to ever give anyone a chance. I never thought I would be ready. I still don't think I am, but."

Cece looked down as her small smile grew.

"JJ just makes me feel.. so.." She trailed off trying to search for the right word.

"Safe. Loved. Cared for." I offered up

Lila snorted as Erika gave me a bored look

"Yes actually" Cece said. "I wouldn't even give him the time of day, but he never stopped trying. He never saw the broken, quiet, shy, nerdy girl that everyone else sees. JJ saw something different in me. Something worth trying to.. date I guess? And I went, and f****d it all up." She said.

A few stray tears fell from Cece's eyes. April reached out to wipe the tears away for her. Cece sniffled as she thanked our friend

"What do you mean you went, and f****d it all up?" Erika asked.

Cece's face turned so red, so fast that we all almost laughed out loud at her.

"Uhm. well." She said awkwardly.

"Okay, tell us everything." I said.

Cece smiled at my enthusiasm.

"Well, I was supposed to walk with Erika to this store in town she wanted to go to. We were supposed to meet at the bus stop that day, but somebody ditched me." She said as she glared at Erika.

"Oh, you're welcome." Erika replied with a smile.

"Anyways," Cece said as she rolled her eyes. "He found me there waiting. Honestly, I was really looking forward to going. I didn't want to go alone though, so I was going to just go back to the dorms. JJ was insistant that we could go together. With the way things had been going between us. I was totally all for it." She said with a sigh.

"Dreamy." April commented.

"So, we took a bus to town. JJ stayed close to me the entire time. He took me to a few different places that I didn't even know existed. We got food, talked. Hours had passed by, and I didn't even know it." Cece said.

"It's nice when you have so much fun you forget about time." Lila said.

Cece shook her head.

"It wasn't just that. Like Millie said, JJ just.. makes me feel safe. So safe that.. for the first time since.. that night I.. relaxed. I wasn't looking over my shoulder. I wasn't tensing up my entire body. I wasn't reaching for my pepper spray anytime another male walked past me. I just.. relaxed." She said.

We all shared a smile. I know what Cece means by that. I only hope that the rest of the SA victims find that. I want them all to feel safe all the time no matter what. I don't think a guy can solve all of your problems. But it's nice to be able to fall in love again after going through something like that. To know that you can find that kind of happiness still.

"We decided to walk back to the school. Honestly, I just

wanted to spend more time with him" Cece said, and then her eyes snapped to me. "Did you know that JJ is smart?" She asked me

Lila let out a loud snort as I started laughing.

"Wait. really?" Erika asked skeptically.

Cece nodded her head.

"JJ is wicked smart." I said. "He's here on a full scholarship, and is like top five of the whole school."

"Damn." April mumbled.

Cece blushed.

"You'd never guess." I told them.

"Anyways, what happened next?" Erika asked Cece.

"Well, we were almost back when it started raining. JJ grabbed me, and ducked under some buildings. We were laughing, and I realized that I hadn't laughed like that in.. so long. The moment was just right.. So, he asked if I wouldn't mind coming back to his frat house. Explained to me that it's not a normal frat because they're all science geeks.

That was how I found out about how smart he is." She told us.

"And..?" April asked.

"And I agreed obviously. We went to his room, where I pracitcally jumped him. I've never been. horny before. Not like that. I wanted him so badly. JJ was so patient. He was gentle, and moved slow. It was perfect." Cece said dreamily And then her face fell.

"And now I might be pregnant. The first time I actually like a guy, and want to have s*x, and I get pregnant." She said. "Weren't you avoiding him before you thought you were pregnant?" April asked.

Cece nodded.

"I stayed the night with him that night. Woke up before he did, and left. I've been avoiding him ever since."

Cece brought her knees to her chest, and wrapped her arms around herself.

"He tries so hard too. I feel so bad. I just." She trailed off.

"You just what honey?" April asked softly.

"I don't want to tell him about my past. I don't want him to look at me differently. JJ wants to date me. To take me out.

To have an acutal relationship. How can I do that without telling him something like this? I'm still a little jumpy. I'm going to cling to JJ anytime we do anything. He's going to wonder what my deal is eventually." Cece rushed out. I placed my hand on top of hers.

"You do not have to tell him if you aren't ready Cece. You can always tell him that you went through some stuff that you don't want to talk about. JJ will accept that. I know it because he's completely obsessed with you." I told her. Cece gave me a small smile.

"Really?" She asked.

I nodded, and opened my mouth. Before I could say anything the timer went off. Lila turned off her timer before looking at the rest of us.

"Ready?" She asked Cece.

Cece nodded as she wiped her tears. The four of us stood to our feet. We made our way to the bathroom, and each grabbed our own tests. Then we all faced each other. "Ready?" April asked us.

"Ready." Cece said while the rest of us nodded.

We all looked down at our tests at the same time.

"It's negative! Oh my god! All of them are negative! I'm not pregnant! Thank god!" Cece said making the others laugh.

Only.. I can't take my eyes off of my own test.

"Everything okay Millie?" Lila asked.
