Billionaire's Betrayal: My Ex Beg Me To Love Him Again -
Chapter 0035
Chapter 0035
Caroline's POV:
William's shouting sent a shiver of fear down my spine. I'd always believed that William would never hurt me, but when he saw me in front of his fallen girlfriend, he genuinely looked like he wanted to murder me right then.
"William, help me!" Sophia cried out, reaching towards him as if in desperation. William dropped everything and rushed to his love's side gently taking George into his arms and whispering caring words to Sophia.
Having seen Sophia's manipulation firsthand and watching her fall so dramatically, my fear was offset by the feeling of ridiculousness over the entire situation. Did William actually think I would hurt his girlfriend? I had never said a cruel word in our entire marriage. Now he was knelt before her, doting on her like she was the most fragile being in the universe. He really cared for them that much, and it sent a sting of sadness into my heart that he left me and our child for such a manipulative and cruel woman. What about me? He had never once turned a sympathetic eye towards my pain and suffering, and yet he had once claimed to have loved me.
"It hurts," Sophia whined, sounding like a child with a scraped knee.
William looked at her with only love and concern. "What hurts, my love?"
Sophia paused in a silent panic, her lie already falling apart. I just scoffed and rolled my eyes at the absurdity of it all. "My body," she said at last, whimpering. "Get rid of her! I want her out
of our house!"
William hushed her with love and kindness, telling her everything would be alright. As soon as their baby was back in her arms, he spun on his heel to stare daggers at me.
"How dare you?" he growled at me, jabbing a finger into my chest. "You come in here and hurt my girlfriend? She even had a baby in her arms! Are you really that heartless?"
I scowled and smacked his hand away, watching the surprise in his eyes. "You think I did it?" I snapped back. "In your eyes, I'm some cruel, vicious woman, but you know better! I would never do something like that!" William opened his mouth to spit out an insult, but I didn't let him. I wasn't going to let him silence me again.
"It's me who lost my baby!" I shouted, tears welling up in my eyes. "It's me who lost my husband and my entire family! And you dare act as the victim! How can you not see you're being manipulated?"
Sophia scowled at me from the couch, but I just rolled my eyes. This situation was so ridiculous that it was becoming hilarious.

I had never been so disappointed in William. The fact that he was so gullible as to actually let himself be tricked by this manipulative woman was beyond me. It seemed like our marriage really had been worthless to him.
William tried to retort with more scathing remarks, but nothing came out of his mouth. Instead, he turned back towards his lying girlfriend and baby boy, going to comfort them once more. Little George had stopped crying and Sophia looked happy to have William's undying attention on her again.
I caught Sophia's insidious glare, but I didn't even care. Her opinion was worthless to me, because apparently I was just as worthless to William.
I couldn't watch their intimacy without mourning what I lost, so I decided to leave. I walked back towards the door, my heart as cold as stone, before I remembered why I came in the first place.
"Did you know my father was attacked?" I asked William, my body tense.
William gave me an odd look, as though he had no idea what I was talking about. "What? What are you on about?"
My glare hardened with scrutiny. "My father was attacked, William. Someone broke into his house and tried to kill him, and now he might be in a vegetative state. Did you know about that?"
William turned to face me, approaching me with a mix of anger and warning in his eyes. "Are you accusing me of something, Caroline?" he growled, warning me to watch words.

"I don't know? Am I?" I fought back. "No one hates my father more than do."
you
"Yes, because your father is nothing but a fraud and a coward, and if you can't see that, then you're just as stupid and ignorant as he is," he exclaimed with malice. "If you're accusing me of what I think you are, then you're absolutely insane."
A deep sense of sadness and disappointment washed over me. I couldn't believe that this gullible, anger-driven man was the same one who I'd married.
I was just about to retort when I felt hot blood suddenly well up in my throat. My eyes widened with dread and I clamped my mouth shut. My stomach cancer was coming back to haunt me.
Slapping a hand over my mouth, I turned and dashed out of the house, unwilling to let them see me like this. Exposing my weakness in front of them was so utterly humiliating.
