Caroline's POV:
Standing on the second floor of the villa, I rushed over to the balcony railing and looked over with worry beating in my chest. The anxious nanny held a sobbing George in her arms, desperately rocking him back and forth and hoping to calm him down."
At the same time, William came sprinting out of the kitchen, rushing to the maid's side to look over his son. "What happened?" he demanded, his shoulders visibly shaking with anxiety.
"He's having an allergic reaction!" explained the nanny, holding up one of the fitful George's arms. It was a mess of ugly red splotches, which also patterned over his face. "Oh, he must be in so much pain!"
Just hearing the nanny's words had my heart clenching tightly in my chest. No baby should ever have to be in so much pain, and just the thought of George suffering in such a way made my throat tighten in sorrow. Everything I had seen in the study was long forgotten as I hurriedly made my way downstairs.

William noticed me trotting down the stairs and his expression tightened with confusion. Where were you?" he demanded, as if blaming me for not being with George every second of the day.
"In the bathroom," I lied, hoping my quick answer would at least be convincing.
Another question was lined up' on William's lips, but before it could be released, another of George's ear-piercing cries disrupted our conversation. "Mr. William, call the doctor at once!" the nanny begged. "George's condition is dangerous!"
The sheer gravity of the situation at hand snapped William back to reality. It seemed to finally register in him that George was suffering, and that his baby desperately needed his daddy's help. "Y-yeah, of course!" he stuttered, rushing off to grab a phone and dial one of his private
doctors.
With William gone, I quickly gestured for the nanny to hand George to me. "Give him here. I can calm him down," I assured her, and although the look she gave me was apprehensive, little George was soon in my arms.
The poor boy was squirming wildly in pain and discomfort, and all I could do was croon to him
very and provide as much comfort as I could. My heart ached seeing him like this, but at the least my voice seemed to sooth his restless wailing.
A doctor arrived in record time, quickly ushered in by a panicking William. The man hurried over and carefully took George into his arms, looking over him with worry etched into his face. "This is a serious allergic reaction," he stated, instantly taking first aid measures. William and I both winced at seeing this already wailing baby boy be tortured with such an accidental misfortune. George's pain started to subside and he slowly calmed down into an

exhausted state. Eventually he was settled enough to be gingerly placed back in my arms, where he fell into a tired sleep after a bit of gentle rocking. "What happened?" William demanded from the doctor.
"The reaction is probably from cow's milk. What has he eaten today?" the doctor asked, taking a stethoscope and placing it to the baby's chest. +25 BONUS
"Just powdered formula," the nanny replied quickly. "But this has never happened before! He's had this milk dozens of times before and he's been completely fine!" As the doctor finished up his examination, a thought seemed to strike her and her curious gaze turned onto me. "Miss Caroline, what formula did you use?"
Unease began to eat away at me and I found myself hesitating to answer. "The formula you told me about in the living room." I swallowed thickly, not liking where this was going." What's wrong?"
"Wait a minute," William piped up, turning on his heel and hurrying into the kitchen. Within just a couple moments, he was back with the tin of powdered milk in his hands. "This one? This is the powdered milk he usually takes, isn't it?"
The nanny took the colorful tin into her hands, her face puzzled. "Yes, but..." She popped the can open and carefully scrutinized the contents. This powder is lighter in color." After a quick sniff, she continued, "It also smells more like normal milk powder." "That doesn't make sense," William replied, annoyance lacing his voice. "How would the milk powder just be replaced like that?"
Without warning, the nanny's eyes turned onto me, her gaze tinged with suspicion. "Excuse me, Miss Caroline, I don't mean to offend, but..." The look she was giving me was nasty and unpleasant. She gazed at me as though I were something evil, and the implications were clear: she thought I had hurt George. "Did you change the milk powder?"
My lips parted in shock and I was left stunned by the accusation. I anxiously glanced over at William, but his eyes were unreadable. Did they honestly think I would do anything to hurt George?
