Captivation: Want Nothing But You -
Chapter 1441
“Baby, can’t you sleep alone? I have something to do.”
Joey looked up at her with his puppy dog eyes, silently pleading with her not to leave.
Rachel smiled comfortingly at him.
Then, she bent down and kissed his forehead.
“Go to sleep, okay?”
Despite her words, Rachel only left once she was sure Joey was asleep.
As soon as the door closed, Joey opened his eyes.
He released his arms from the confinement of the blanket and turned in the bed so that his back was on the mattress.
As he stared at the ceiling, Hector’s offer sprang to his mind again.
As if on cue, his watch suddenly buzzed.
It was a message from Hector.
“I’UL wait for you at seven o’clock tomorrow morning.
I’ll bring you some soybean milk.
Don’t be late.
It doesn’t taste good when it’s cold,” Hector said.
Joey pouted and murmured to himself, “I haven’t agreed yet!”
Bailing his father out, huh?
When Hector first presented his condition, Joey’s first reaction was, of course, to refuse.
“He knows a lot of influential people, and he himself is a prominent figure.
He doesn’t need my help.
Also, I’m still young.
I can’t bail him out even if I want to.
I’m sure you already know this, right?”
“I do, but there are only two people in this world who can help him now,” Hector replied.
Only two?
Joey raised his head to look Hector straight in the eye.
Before he could say anything, the man added, “Other than you, the only family member he has is Odin, and I can’t really ask that person to bail
Victor out.”
Hector did not elaborate further than that, but the meaning behind his words was clear.
Odin was the one who sent Victor to prison after expending a great deal of effort on his part.
There was no way he would agree to save
Victor.
In fact, if Odin found out that Victor could be bailed out, he would do his best to prevent it from happening.
Bending forward and placing his hands on his knees to meet the boy’s gaze, Hector said, “Long story short, you’re the only one who can save your father now.
“Sir, you sure are bad at persuading.
I’m the only one who can save him? I doubt that, considering his status.” Joey snorted.
Hector shrugged his shoulders.
“Either way, I’m certain you’ll help him even if I didn’t ask you to do it.
Although you are angry at your father, I know you still care about him.
I don’t know what exactly happened between you two, but I don’t think you hate him.”
His words caused Joey to sneer.
“Stop calling him my father.
I’m not his son.”
