“Good boy.”

With a guilty conscience, Joey shoved Quintin’s hand and shot him a glare.

He then dropped his eyes and urged, “Let’s go.”

Quintin stood still with one hand in his pocket and stared at Joey’s back.

The smile on his face disappeared as he recalled what Rachel said when he called her yesterday after he received the booking message.

“Quintin, come and stay in Apliaria for a few days.

Then take Joey back with you,” Rachel said over the phone.

“Take Joey back to the alliance? Will he even come with me?” Quintin was taken aback for a moment.

Rachel fell silent after that.

Quintin knew she hadn’t told Joey anything about the plan.

It was her decision.

“ihat if the boy doesn’t want to leave? You know he doesn’t want to be away from you for too long.

He might refuse to come back with me.”

“Then take him back by force,” Rachel said in a low voice.

Quintin had a feeling Rachel must have sensed something dangerous to happen, so she wanted to keep Joey safe as soon as possible.

“Take him by force? Do I have to knock him out?” Quintin murmured to himself .

Quintin’s eyes lit up.

“Well, I think it can happen.”

“What can happen?” Joey’s voice suddenly rang in Quintin’s ears, taking his mind back to the present.

He was surprised to see the boy standing next to him and tried to hide his panic.

“What?”

Joey looked him up and down skeptically.

“Are you planning something bad?”

With Joey’s inquisitive eyes on him, Quintin felt guilty.

He touched the tip of his nose and retorted, “Do I look like that kind of person?”

“Yes,” Joey answered under his breath.

“Weren’t you already going back to your mother? Why did you come back?” Quintin changed the subject.

Fortunately, Joey didn’t pry further and answered his question.

“I saw you were just standing here.”

Quintin smiled broadly.

“Good boy! Thank you for waiting for me.”

Joey rolled his eyes at him, turned around, and walked ahead.
