AMERY

To say that I was angry was an understatement. I was pissed, upset and filled with rage. If there was a better word to describe how I felt at that particular moment then I would use it so effortlessly. Sean had not only insulted me but he also went ahead to say that I was a w***e who threw herself on different men because according to him I was psychotic. How on earth did I end up dating a guy like him and why didn't I see the signs when we were together? Or maybe I didn't see the signs and decided to ignore them because I was blinded by love.

First it was Natasha who accused me of hijacking all the men in her life and now it's Sean who assumes that I cannot get a better man because I had dated him before. Months ago, I would do anything to be seen with this guy. I was willing to fly round the ends of the world just to prove to him that I loved and cared for him. Call it childishness or obsessiveness, I didn't give a damn because I thought that he was the one for me.

I even went as far as planning our future and coming up with names for our unborn children and what did he do in return to reciprocate that affection? He stabbed me in the back, in the worst way possible by dating my best friend. What's more was that he wasn't even remorseful about what he had done. Instead, he tried to hit on me and if it weren't for Levi the other day at the gym, he would've done worse. Why do I get the strangest feeling that maybe, just maybe he was also aware of the drug incident? If he and Natasha were an exclusive item for a long time then he would definitely know about that wouldn't he? And the fact that he thinks so highly of himself irks me and I promise that I won't take it sitting down.

All these while, I had decided to play dumb and act as if everything was okay with me, much to my displeasure but now, I won't do that anymore. They can all go to hell for all I care. I'm putting myself first this time around and if it helps, I'd make absolutely sure to give them a taste of their own medicine while I'm at it.

With gritted teeth and clenched fists, I hit the wall with my legs angrily as the feeling washes over me. So much for putting other people first before me. Now just look where it's gotten me.

Putting my scattered feelings and emotions on check, I decided to get prepped for the next class. School wasn't as fun as it was anymore because Quincy was no longer around. Even though I didn't want to admit it, he was always fun to hang out with and I kinda missed his chaotic and bubbly nature.

I arrived just in time for the next class but I couldn't concentrate on anything the teacher was talking about. I kept on zoning out and each time I saw Quincy's empty seat, I'm always reminded that he wasn't coming back to school anymore and that his expulsion was real. I wish I could find a way to vindicate him and prove his Innocence but I couldn't because he had already admitted to my mistake and the evidence concerning the incident had been destroyed. Courtesy of Natasha and her minions. "Miss Hunter." The teacher called and I jolted back to reality. I was surprised to see everyone staring at me. Shoot! How long have I been off?

"Yes sir." I answered sharply and he adjusted his glasses as his eyes never left mine. I swallowed. How on earth did I zone out?

"Would you care to tell me and the rest of the class about what I said last?" He requested with a straight face and I heard mutterings and whispers which were accompanied by tiny giggles from behind me. No doubt it's Natasha. Why do I always face the spotlight? Why am I always constantly being drawn to it? As if I haven't had enough for one day.

"You...I mean..." I trailed off.

"Yes, go on." He pressed and I flushed feeling deeply embarrassed.

"I'm sorry Sir." I muttered at last.

"No you're not sorry." His voice clipped angrily but it didn't stop him. "In fact, if there's anything that I've noticed today is the fact that you just keep doing this on purpose. I have been standing here for over thirty minutes trying to break down this topic for you to understand and the best you could do is zone out on me?" "It won't happen again sir."

"Are you always fond of doing this?" He asked out of the blue. "Do you have no shame? You'd think that with the amount of punishments and suspension issued out to you, you'd finally learn your lesson but it seems as if it's only getting worse." I shyed my eyes away, unable to look at him.

"You are right about one thing though. It won't happen again." He gave me a knowing smile. "The basketball team are preparing for their game and a little birdie told me that the gym needs cleaning." "But-"

"Unless you'd like to add lunch lady to your punishment?"

I shook my head. "I'll get it done sir."

"You better!" He exclaimed and continued with whatever he was doing while I slowly took my seat. Soon enough he left the class and I made my way to the gym after that. I got there and was surprised to see that Levi and his other teammates had just finished practicing and were having a little bit of warm up. I stepped into the gym and decided to start with my duties so that I will be able to leave on time.

I spotted Levi at the far end of the gym but he ignored me as though he didn't see me standing there. It's not like I cared anyway. Maybe he was still upset that I had refused to agree to he is suggestion of fake dating.

I started with my punishment and soon enough Sean approached me with two of his friends. I recognized one as Kevin, the same one who had implanted those drugs in my locker. There's no running or escaping from this so it's better I face this head on. "Well, well, well." He sing-songed. "If it isn't the famous Amery who was always known for getting into trouble. What did you do this time to land you another punishment to clean the gym?" He asked but I simply ignored. They reeked of sweat and I just couldn't stand talking to them, especially Sean. I still don't know why he wouldn't just leave me alone.

"Are you sure she was given this as a punishment?" The other guy who accompanied the two nuisances spoke up. "From what is displayed here, all I see is nothing but a desperate girl who is probably looking for a way to hang out with all the hot boys in the basketball team, don't you think so? I mean she's already scored a hot guy like Levi so I wonder why she's still interested in us."

"Maybe she can't get over the fact that you two aren't together anymore." Kevin chimed in. "I mean, anyone who's dated you always finds it difficult to stay away and she's one of them." They hyped Sean and he ran his tongue over his lips with an arched eyebrow. "You might have a point there." They burst out laughing at his statement.

I scoffed but loud enough for them to hear. "You're all delusional."

"What did you say?" Sean queried and they all stopped laughing.

"I said that you're all delusional." I repeated in a more bold and fierce tone that even surprised me. "Why would I be interested in the likes of you when you just confirmed it yourself that I scored a hot guy like Levi? Anyone who scores a hot guy like Levi would not even be interested in any of you in the slightest."

Their eyes widened in surprise but I could tell that Sean still found it difficult to believe. Nevertheless, I continued. "If there's anyone I'm head over heels in love with then it's none other than my boyfriend Levi. I'm sure you've seen the school's website which confirmed that we are In a relationship together just like it confirmed weeks ago that you cheated on me with my best friend and everyone believed it."

Sean rolled his eyes in irritation and took a step forward. "You think you can fool me by telling me that you're in a relationship with Levi? No you can't Amery because I don't believe you, not one tiny bit so quit it with the fake act."

"I don't need you to believe what's proven to be the truth Sean. But if you want me to prove it to you then..." I trailed off with a smirk on my face. I threw the rags on the floor and pushed past them as I made my way towards Levi. Deep down in my heart of hearts, I prayed that he wouldn't act weirdly or try to stop me from what I was about to do.

I got closer to him and before he could say anything, I clashed my lips on his and kissed him full on the lips much to everyone's surprise, including mine.
