AMERY

.

Levi pulled away from the kiss and I found it almost impossible to catch my breath. My emotions were all running haywire right now and a deep longing that had always been there whenever we were together resurfaced but only this time, a lot stronger. If we weren't standing in front of everyone at the gym right now then I would've turned into a puddle of big mess because my knees could barely support my upper body right now.

He brought his face closer to my ears. "Now, that's how you kiss someone to prove a point." I shivered slightly but tried my best to maintain composure. I heard shocked gasps coming from around the gym and I couldn't help but feel more proud that I was able to pull this off without anyone suspecting a thing.

I don't do well when it comes to telling lies and right now, from the look on everyone's faces, I could tell that they bought it and that I'm doing a great job in fooling them. I'm also doing a great job in fooling myself too.

"So, what's next?" Levi inquired, his eyes still fixed on mine. I took a second to stare into them and I am a bit surprised to see that his eyes had a mixture and traces of grey color in them. His grey eyes only means that his wolf was close to the surface. Was it the kiss that triggered it or worse? Because ever since he came here and ever since he lost his wolf, his eyes had always been black.

"Amery." He called my name in a low seductive whisper. I look away and try to focus on the task at hand.

"Y-You were saying?"

"What's next?" He repeated and I gasped knowingly.

"Can we talk about this later at lunch? I still need to clean up the gym and make sure that everything is in place." I explained and he nodded in understanding.

་་།

I guess, this is where I make a dramatic exit right?" He asked and before I could respond, he smacked my b**t playfully. "I'll see you at lunch babe. Don't be late." He winked at me before walking outside the gym. Sean looked at me in shock, his nose was crinkled which was a clear indication of anger and jealously. I cleared my voice so I wouldn't look too surprised at what had just happened.

I noticed his friends try to approach him but he pushed them away and angrily stormed outside the gym with giving so much of a backward glance. I don't want to sound too excited but I'm glad it worked. Now, I would finally be able to get Levi off my back as well as the other notorious students who had tried to mess with me one way or another. It's a full proof plan and my only hope is that Levi doesn't mess it up.

Right now, he seemed to be in a good mood because for some reason, he's acting all sweet and caring but I know Levi much more than anyone to know that he's quite unpredictable. He does things without thinking twice and doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself. If he screws this up, then it'll be over for me. I won't be known as the girl who got suspended or involved in a drug scandal. I'll be known as the one who scored all triplets and came out a loser. Which is more disastrous because it'll ruin me for the rest of my life.

The gym was quickly deserted and I took my time to clean it up. I think the teachers in this school all have a personal vendetta against me because why should I be subjected to such high level of cruelty all the time? Why were they always pinning me against these sort of punishments? And I thought that Levi was the worst.

I finished with the gym in time for lunch and I made my way straight to the cafeteria after informing the teacher that I was done with my work. He didn't look happy and neither did he look impressed but I couldn't care less anyway. The bottom line is that he gave me a punishment and I had willingly done it.

I spotted Levi when I arrived at the cafeteria and he patted an empty space next to him on one of the chairs. I would give anything to refuse to sit down next to him but the intent stares from everyone round the table including Natasha, said otherwise. I decided to heed instead.

I bought my lunch and walked up to his table, taking the empty chair that he had offered me. The murmurings and whispers got louder but I tried my best to ignore them as hard as I could. Levi continued with his food and I am contemplating on whether to stop him from eating or listening to me. Both of which didn't seem nice at the time being.

"What's wrong?" He asked out of the blue. He wiped his stained mouth and threw the napkin on the table alongside the empty dishes. He cleans up nicely especially after a days work at the gym.

"I wanted to talk to you about the..." I lowered my voice. "About the fake dating between us." I reached out to my bag and brought out a sheet of paper which I handed over to him. "It's a list of what I want you to do and not do while we're faking this thing together." He hesitated but took the paper at last. He looked from the paper to my face and I am left wondering what is wrong with him.

"What is this?" He asked for the second time.

"Didn't you hear me clearly the first time? It's a list of rules that will guide us during this period of whatever we are planning to do."

He laughed. "But these are all ridiculous rules. You don't expect me to follow them, do you?"

"Yes I do or we might just have to call this off." I threatened even though I knew that I was at the losing end. If Levi should decide to end it everything would fall back on me and I knew that for a fact but still I didn't want him to feel completely in charge of everything to the point of making mistake or dragging me to do something I don't want to be dragged into.

"Rule number one." I began while his eyes were glued to the paper in front of him. "We're establishing the fact that the purpose of this relationship is to make sure that we have a mutual understanding of why we are fake dating in the first place. I'm only doing this to make Sean jealous, get payback for what they did to me and avoid unwanted attention."

"Rule number two" I continued. "We have a timeline. This relationship will last for a period of three weeks to one month. If there is any need to continue after then, we would discuss it first before making the necessary decisions. Are you even listening?" "Do I have a choice?" He retorted.

"Good." I stated firmly. "Rule number three..." I did a sign with my three fingers in the air. "Limited PDA. You're only allowed to act crazy in love with me when we are in public or around other students. We will hold hands, show affection but keep our distance when we're alone. We are expected to be consistent if we want everyone to dig into our charade and maintain the illusion."

"When we are alone together, we will maintain a platonic relationship. We are not going to explore deeper emotional connections like s*x and the rest of them. You're free to flirt with me as much as you want and that's all you'll be doing." I broke down the rules to him while he watched me with a straight face.

"Rule number four, communication is key. We must both establish open lines of communication with each other to ensure that we're on the same page. We should regularly check in with each other and discuss any changes or developments in our fake relationship. Don't hide your thoughts from me okay?"

"Number five..."

"You really did your homework on this project, didn't you?" He interrupted but I completely ignored him.

"As I was saying, we're always going to plan fake dates and outings. We'll create a schedule of events or dates that we will attend together." I added. "Do you have any questions or something to add to the list as well?"

He looked at me. "Of course I do. Rule number six, You are to avoid any real romantic involvement with me. I'm making it clear from now henceforth that genuine romantic feelings between us are off-limits. I want to avoid and prevent any future complications." He stated and I suddenly felt sad. It was a fake relationship anyway. I wasn't expecting it to be more in the future so it's for the best.

"And rule number seven, if we decide to call off our relationship, we must have an exit plan. We'll have to decide on an exit strategy for the fake relationship to come to an end. It would be a mutual decision to end it, an unexpected revelation, or a public event that somehow forces us to come clean. Understood?"

I nodded in affirmation.

"Alright, I think that'll be all." He made to stand up but I stopped him.

"Wait. One more thing. I don't want Quincy to find out about this no matter what. We'll have to lie or hide it from him until I'm ready to come clean about it. Please." I added when he didn't look convinced.

"Why can't we tell him?" He inquired.

"He's involved in something important and I don't want him getting distracted because of me." I said In response to his question.

"Fair enough, but in order to keep your secret, you'd do something for me in return." He placed a bargain.

"And what could that be?"

"Your phone. Give me your phone." He ordered, stretching out his hands towards me and I gave it to him. He took a picture of himself and saved it as my wallpaper. "Don't ever change it no matter what or our deal is off."

"Don't you think it's a bit unfair that your stupid face is my wallpaper?"

"And your point is?" He retorted.

"And who's picture is on your wall screen if you used yours for mine? That's not how it works Levi." I brushed him off.

He brought out his phone and flashed the screen across my face. My picture from last night was also his wallpaper as well. "Guess that answers your question. Your stupid face is also my wallpaper. Welcome onboard, girlfriend." He said with a smirk before getting up to discard his plates. I don't know why but I suddenly felt a little tingly sensation inside me.
