"Are you ready?" Amery asked Samantha who was putting the finishing touches on her dress. They were getting prepared for the bonfire party tonight and Amery hoped that she would at least get a chance to make her move on Asher. The rift between them in just

three days was slowly starting to get out of hand and if she doesn't fix it soon, it could only get worse.

"And...done." Samantha breathed out a deep sigh. "I never knew how tight these jeans were until I decided to put them on tonight." She turned to look at Amery who was clad In a single jean shorts that ridden up above her knees, stopping at her thighs which she complimented with a white furry vest. Her hair was clipped back with a pin and her lips were painted with lipgloss.

"Whoa." She gasped, her hands going up to adjust her glasses and keep them in place. "Now I know why all the guys at school are falling head over heels for you. How does someone look so good in just shorts and a vest."

Amery chuckled. It felt nice to have a lady compliment her, unlike the usual ones she got from other guys which might not be genuine because they only wanted to get into her pants.

"Thank you, Sam." She said and slid her feet into a pair of slippers. They both made their way outside and she was surprised to see that the teachers as well as the tour guide and his crew of the cabin had made preparations for the bonfire party already. There were decorations, food and drinks and a lot of people were having fun too.

"I didn't know that the school made a big deal out of camping trips." Samantha mused from behind her. Amery could understand her statement completely because she also wasn't expecting this.

"Beats me but they did say that we were going to have fun so I guess this is it."

"Anyways, see you later. Your boyfriend is approaching six o clock." Samantha muttered before walking away. Amery didn't understand what she meant until she saw a bare-chested Levi walking up to her. She could see the other girls staring at him and the tiny gasps she heard around her told her that it was truly happening.

"Who's the girl?" He pointed at Samantha who had disappeared into the crowd where she would not be seen. The poor girl was outspoken to a fault but she was still a bit scared of Levi.

"My roomie," Amery answered, still looking if she could get a glimpse of her again but she was long gone.

"Is she giving you any trouble?"

"She's not." She almost yelled at him. "And don't go around scaring people. Your speech in school the other day almost cost me a friend today."

"Well, you don't need one when you have me." He tilted his head to the side. "Besides, you look good for a bonfire though." He complimented and a blush crept onto Amery's cheeks and rested there but she tried to compose herself so that she isn't carried away by his sweet words even though they had already gotten to her.

"And you look shirtless." She primped and started to walk away leaving him to follow.

"I just took out a few buttons. It's nothing serious." He stated. "This place is refreshing. I took a little look around and I am floored. I never knew that a place with such scenery existed in the human world."

"I'm glad that you're able to bond with this place. The Levi I know isn't easily impressed by anything." Amery made her way towards the punch to grab a cup for herself and Levi.

"I grew up in a household of great and powerful people. My father is the ruler of an entire pack and I am his first child which makes me a prince and the heir to the throne of an empire." He lectured her. "Do you really think that anything could ever impress me with a background as big as mine?" He bragged.

"You're such a show-off." She sneered at him and took another sip from her cup. Her eyes darted to the opposite direction and she saw Asher walking up to them whilst holding hands with Natasha. He sized her up and threw his face away as though he didn't just see her. The more she sees them together, the more she isn't getting used to it.

She watched him offer a cup to Natasha as he whispered sweet nothingness to her arch nemesis. They were getting cozier than she had expected and the fact that he was doing all of this in her presence stung her painfully. She wasn't a fan of sharing and she definitely wasn't used to it.

"Hey." Levi willed her to look at him. "I told you already, didn't I? You're not permitted to look at him. He doesn't give a damn about you and neither should you."

"I know that he's angry and that's why he's doing all of this." She whispered back to Levi who had been glaring at Asher ever since he arrived. "I just need to fix things and explain it to him."

"Explain what?" He asked. "Whatever you say Amery doesn't and will not change the fact that we had s*x with each other. And if all you're going to do tonight is talk about Asher then I should not be here with you." Before Amery could say another word, Levi stormed off angrily. Great! Now she had made him upset too.

"Gather around everyone, the bonfire is about to begin." The school president announced and everyone walked round the campfire to take their seats. The night was cold but the heat from the fire melted the cold air around them, keeping everyone warm. Asher sat next to Natasha who rested her head on his shoulders. Amery felt alone just watching them but Levi arrived just in time and threw his shirt around her shoulders before taking a seat next to her. She knew that he was mad at her but she was happy that he came back.

They made jokes and roasted marshmallows, sang songs and talked about a lot of things before the tour guide was invited to tell them a little creepy story. Amery spotted Sam on the other side and waved at her. She was delighted when she waved back. "Ladies and gentlemen, your host for tonight's bonfire story. Mr Anderson." They announced and everyone clapped.

Tonight's bonfire story is going to be a little special seeing that this is your first time visiting a town like Kiyo Valley" He started and everyone listened with rapt attention.

"Do you know that before this land was discovered, it was said to have been inhabited by strange creatures who crawled on all four legs?" He asked but no one replied. The place was as quiet as a graveyard and the only sounds heard were that of the crickets coming from the nearby bushes. "Kiyo Valley was said to be a home to those creatures and they cherished this place with pride."

"How would you know?" Someone spoke up from the crowd. "Have you seen anyone yourself or what they looked like?"

"They are not easily detected or caught because they look like humans and even evolved with us as time went by. But they have intense powers and are usually very strong during the full moon." He continued. "Their ancestors were said to draw their power from the moon and if you were to encounter anyone during that time then best believe that you would certainly wind up dead. They morph into animals with fangs and tear you apart limb by limb till there is nothing left but your bones hanging from the corners of their mouth."

Amery glanced at Levi who in turn looked at Asher from where he was seated. They were thinking about the same thing and it bothered them to an extent because they couldn't tell if he was joking or if he had encountered a wolf before.

All the descriptions he had given fitted them. Was that the reason why Levi felt a strange connection to this place when they arrived? Was there really a story like that about this place or was he just making things up?

"And do you want to know the funny part of the story?" He asked with a quick pause and then. "It's the fact that it's made up and doesn't exist." Everyone groaned when he said that while most people cursed themselves for actually believing and falling for what he had just said. Amery was still skeptical about what she had heard though and none of it sits well with her.

"On that friendly note, welcome to Kiyo Valley and enjoy the rest of the bonfire night." He did a bow and everyone clapped as he exited the stage. The night went on as usual but Amery felt restless. Something was stirring inside her restlessly but she couldn't pinpoint what it was.

The night came to an end with everyone saying their farewells to their friends.

"Get some sleep everyone because tomorrow, the real camping fun begins." They announced as Levi helped her up to her feet.

"Do you think that he was actually joking about that?" She asked the question that had been brooding in her mind ever since the beginning of the story.

"I'm sure it was just a prank to get everyone scared. We don't exist with your kind and we are always careful not to show our true self to anyone."

She flushed worriedly. "I know but sometimes mistakes happen. Like the time when you almost wolfed out on Sean at the gym. You didn't plan for it to happen but it almost did and that's why I'm worried."

He walked her to her cabin. "You're beating yourself over nothing. For all we know, it could be a prank so don't dwell on it and make sure you sleep well tonight, okay?"

She smiled at him and he gave her a quick peck on the cheeks. "See you tomorrow morning Miss Hunter." He waved at her before making his way to his side of the cabin, leaving her to her thoughts.
