"Let's go to my office." Sarah said immediately, and without wasting time, she walked to her office where they could have more privacy, she had no idea what they were going to talk about, but from Bastian's expression, she knew it wasn't good news precisely. Bastian followed Sarah's hurried steps, tightly holding the document he still had in his hand, and on the way, they greeted Julian, who was knocking on Abby's office door.

They would have stopped to exchange a few words, but one, Sarah wouldn't feel comfortable, and two, they had a very important matter to discuss.

Sarah closed the door behind Bastian and pointed at the chair in front of her desk for him to sit down so they could

talk more comfortably.

"I had no intention of coming to this company, unless it was for an important matter that required my presence, but Vincent called me and I came."

Sarah raised one of her eyebrows, as she began to think that Vincent tried to persuade him to intercede for him.

"Then, why did he call you?" Sarah asked, even more confused than before. No matter how hard she tried to find a connection between his visit and what was happening with Abby, she couldn't find it. She needed to know everything.

"Sarah, Vincent is leaving the city, possibly leaving the country, and therefore, he is also leaving the company." Bastian informed directly, without any further ado, leaving Sarah astonished in her seat. If she wasn't sitting down, she would have probably fallen to the floor from the shock.

"What are you telling me? Vincent is leaving the company?" Sarah asked incredulously, before letting her back fall on the backrest of the chair. This was going too far. Not only was she going to lose Abby as a partner, but also Vincent, who was second in command. Bastian nodded in response and handed her the document of the share transfer, so that she could see for herself to what extent the eldest of the Lefebvre had gone to rid himself of a responsibility, to escape his affairs like a true coward.

"This is why he asked me to come." Sarah took the document and read it with a frown, page by page, every clause, every number, absolutely everything. Her mouth opened in surprise when she saw the signatures of both men finalizing the share transfer. "He left me his shares without asking me for anything in return, it's nothing but a desperate move. Bastian looked so furious, as if Vincent's decisions were hurting him more than anyone else. But he couldn't help feeling angry at Vincent and really worried about Abby.

Although the situation cleared his way, it was difficult for him to stop feeling powerless..

It was so unfair that Abby was going through a hard time.

She didn't deserve it, of course not.

Those words were what Sarah needed to realize that Vincent had fallen from the high pedestal she had put him on. It was one thing not to want to believe it and another to accept reality.

Sarah was already accepting reality.

Suddenly, beyond Vincent's bad actions, Sarah became curious about the way Bastian spoke about his own brother. It was the first time she had seen such a thing, because even though the Lefebvre family had made bad decisions throughout their lives, none had meddled in each other's affairs. Sarah felt that Bastian was taking the matter very personally.

"Bastian, is there something else behind all this? I mean, it's obvious that you benefit by becoming the majority shareholder with more shares, but it seems like you're the only one being harmed," Sarah asked directly, catching Bastian off guard. He didn't expect the conversation to take this turn.

¡Bastian stood up from his seat and walked nervously as he combed his unruly hair falling over his forehead. He tried to think of something that would sound convincing and wouldn't reveal the true reason behind his displeasure.

But after a few seconds of Sarah looking at him with narrowed eyes, as if she had discovered everything just by looking at him, he decided to let it all out. Returning to his seat, he let out a long sigh as he rested his arms on the desk.

"I'm in love with Abby."
