Divorced Heiress
I am Not A Contract Chapter 7

Sarah was aware that the three Lefebvre brothers were very different from each other, and that, probably, Bastian at that moment was aware of what the eldest Lefebvre had done, and he was approaching Abby to give her all his support. Bastian was not surprised by the way Abby spoke to him, on the contrary, he understood that she distrusted him as if he were Vincent himself, but he didn't care, he had plenty of time to show her that they were two completely different people, that they were like water and oil.

He had time to make her understand that, although the situation hurt her in her soul, it was the best thing that could have happened to her, because all her misfortunes led her to the right path, led her to walk hand in hand with him and he wasn't going to let her go. "I'm fine, thank you for asking. I came here by chance, it has to do with the company, but before we talk about that...

Congratulations, Abby, I heard the news."

Bastian continued to smile even though the look of that woman in front of him was not the most pleasant, he only knew one thing, and it was that he had to be patient.

Abby furrowed her brow even more, as if that were possible, and soon jumped to a wrong conclusion, thinking that he was there by orders of her older brother, that maybe through Bastian she would be convinced to do what Vincent wanted

They re very wrong if they think they're going to make me change my mind, not even if they bring me the very god, I'll do what that jerk wants, Abby thought, making her best effort not to lose control in the middle of the hallway.

Whatever it was, she didn't trust that smile that wouldn't leave his face, she even thought he was mocking her.

"But of course, he told you. It's better that you wipe that smile off, Bastian, I won't agree to any request that comes from Vincent, thanks for coming."

Abby gave Bastian the fakest smile before heading to her office, away from anyone close to the jerk Lefebvre.

Bastian pursed his lips as he stayed in his place realizing how difficult it would be for a Lefebvre to earn Abby's trust.

It doesn't matter, I have a lot of patience, Bastian thought before looking at Sarah as if he were ashamed.

"Sarah, first of all, I don't want anyone to think that I'm on Vincent's side, on the contrary, I think he's making the worst mistake of his life and he's also hurting a wonderful person who's expecting his baby, I didn't come here to be an intermediary of evil, never." Bastian quickly clarified before Sarah insinuated the same thing as Abby and left without giving him time to say a word, he didn't imagine that the brunette would be defensive.

However, it was Sarah who was embarrassed by her friend's reaction, as she was more than sure that Bastian didn't agree with his brother's decisions, no one did.

No one expected Vincent to turn out to be a jerk.

¡"You don't have to explain to me, I know, I know you, I know who you are. Apologize to Abby, she's not going through a good time, I see you already know that. Did he tell you everything?" Sarah asked in a low voice, as if she wanted to keep the subject a secret, although it was a matter of time before everyone found out about Abby Dubois' misfortune.

"He didn't need to tell me everything, just by saying that Abby is pregnant I knew." Bastian responded in a murmur that only Sarah managed to hear, and he let out a heavy sigh before continuing.

"Can we talk in private? There's something I have to tell you."

Bastian's face filled with seriousness and Sarah nodded her head, she felt confused, disappointed, and curious to know what Bastian wanted to tell her, suddenly she thought that maybe it had something to do with his unexpected and surprising visit. "Let's go to my office." Sarah said immediately, and without wasting time, she walked to her office where they could have more privacy, she had no idea what they were going to talk about, but from Bastian's expression, she knew it wasn't good news precisely. Bastian followed Sarah's hurried steps, tightly holding the document he still had in his hand, and on the way, they greeted Julian, who was knocking on Abby's office door.

They would have stopped to exchange a few words, but one, Sarah wouldn't feel comfortable, and two, they had a very important matter to discuss.

Sarah closed the door behind Bastian and pointed at the chair in front of her desk for him to sit down so they could

talk more comfortably.

"I had no intention of coming to this company, unless it was for an important matter that required my presence, but Vincent called me and I came."

Sarah raised one of her eyebrows, as she began to think that Vincent tried to persuade him to intercede for him.

"No, don't look at me like that, when I arrived I had no idea what was going on, in fact, I had to press Vincent to tell me the news, and believe me, I wanted to hit him to see if he would come to his senses."

"Then, why did he call you?" Sarah asked, even more confused than before. No matter how hard she tried to find a connection between his visit and what was happening with Abby, she couldn't find it. She needed to know everything.

"Sarah, Vincent is leaving the city, possibly leaving the country, and therefore, he is also leaving the company." Bastian informed directly, without any further ado, leaving Sarah astonished in her seat. If she wasn't sitting down, she would have probably fallen to the floor from the shock.

"What are you telling me? Vincent is leaving the company?" Sarah asked incredulously, before letting her back fall on the backrest of the chair. This was going too far. Not only was she going to lose Abby as a partner, but also Vincent, who was second in command. Bastian nodded in response and handed her the document of the share transfer, so that she could see for herself to what extent the eldest of the Lefebvre had gone to rid himself of a responsibility, to escape his affairs like a true coward.

"This is why he asked me to come." Sarah took the document and read it with a frown, page by page, every clause, every number, absolutely everything. Her mouth opened in surprise when she saw the signatures of both men finalizing the share transfer. "He left me his shares without asking me for anything in return, it's nothing but a desperate move. In the midst of his desperation, he entrusted everything to reliable hands to disappear, as if life were as simple as coming to cause chaos and then disappear as if by magic." Bastian didn't miss the opportunity to express his thoughts on the matter. Who better than someone he trusted, who agreed with his opinion, and who also happened to be the owner of the company in which he was now a partner with more shares Sarah looked at him bewildered. Everything that was happening in less than a day seemed so unreal to her. Vincent was acting in a way she never imagined

Not only did he resign from his responsibilities as a father and abandon Abby while she was pregnant as if it were a trivial matter, but he also disappeared without explanations, without convening a board meeting to announce his retirement and share transfer to his younger brother.

What had Vincent Lefebvre become?

"This can't be true, Vincent wouldn't do something like that."

Sarah still couldn't believe it. As much as she had the evidence in her hands, it was difficult for her to see that he was doing the complete opposite of what he had always shown.

"Please, Sarah. Vincent has always said that he will never have children because they will be an obstacle in his business. He will never have anything more than a woman with whom he can satisfy his needs through a contract.

You know it, well, then Abby came and changed everything.

I thought his plans were going to change because of how serious they were, but look, he preferred to abandon everything because Abby is pregnant. And I'm sure that ***t asked her to terminate the pregnancy."

"I'm not Bastian Lefebvre if it wasn't like that. And since she didn't agree to that crazy idea, he decided to disappear. If he's capable of that, do you think he wouldn't do something else like give away his shares and leave the company without convening a board meeting? Get to know him! He's Vincent Lefebvre!"

Bastian looked so furious, as if Vincent's decisions were hurting him more than anyone else. But he couldn't help feeling angry at Vincent and really worried about Abby.

Although the situation cleared his way, it was difficult for him to stop feeling powerless..

It was so unfair that Abby was going through a hard time.

She didn't deserve it, of course not.

Those words were what Sarah needed to realize that Vincent had fallen from the high pedestal she had put him on. It was one thing not to want to believe it and another to accept reality.

Sarah was already accepting reality.

Suddenly, beyond Vincent's bad actions, Sarah became curious about the way Bastian spoke about his own brother. It was the first time she had seen such a thing, because even though the Lefebvre family had made bad decisions throughout their lives, none had meddled in each other's affairs. Sarah felt that Bastian was taking the matter very personally.

"Bastian, is there something else behind all this? I mean, it's obvious that you benefit by becoming the majority shareholder with more shares, but it seems like you're the only one being harmed," Sarah asked directly, catching Bastian off guard. He didn't expect the conversation to take this turn.

¡Bastian stood up from his seat and walked nervously as he combed his unruly hair falling over his forehead. He tried to think of something that would sound convincing and wouldn't reveal the true reason behind his displeasure.

But after a few seconds of Sarah looking at him with narrowed eyes, as if she had discovered everything just by looking at him, he decided to let it all out. Returning to his seat, he let out a long sigh as he rested his arms on the desk.

"I'm in love with Abby."
