Dr. Luna -
Chapter 54
Cedric had made a full recovery since the attack. Things had been pretty quiet except for the planning for the trip they would be making in the next week. They had made a lot of preparations in order to make this trip as smooth as possible. Tristan had told them that they could only travel part of the way in their vehicles and then they would have to hike the rest of the way on foot. Tyler was planning to leave Caleb in charge of the pack as the acting Alpha in charge. But before they disembarked on this little adventure, Tyler had something up his sleeve. He involved Cedric and was able to have his mind blocked from the mate link. He didn't need Lilly to figure out his surprise.
Tyler had a small bag in his hand as he walked out of the doors to the pack house. Tristan, Cedric, Avery, Caleb and Kade were outside with Lilly and were all in on the fun. Tyler walked up to where they were all standing and pulled Lilly back into his chest. Then she leaned her head back to look up to him and he lightly brushed his lips against her forehead.
"Want to go for a drive?" Tyler asked as he watched her eyes widen in excitement.
"Really?! Can we? I mean can we really? You aren't teasing? And...wait a minute... why can't I read your thoughts?" Lilly watched his grin widen and caught Cedric's smile out of the corner of her eye.
"No reading my mind today. It is a block Cedric cooked up special." Tyler grinned and looked over at Cedric.
"Yeah, I had to try to figure out a way to block your mate link that was separate from the mind linking. A little bit of trial and error but I figured it out." Cedric said proudly at his accomplishment.
Tyler was happy he was able to keep today a surprise from her. He could see how excited she was, and it made him melt. It was a shame that because of everything he hadn't been able to do more fun things with her more often. Not anymore. He decided that even after their trip to Elysium, that they would just have to use some precautions. They had a life to live and he had a mate to spoil. "Alright everyone let's load up."
Moments later, they were humming along in their vehicles. Avery, Caleb and Kade took one car while Tristan drove his truck with Tyler, Lilly and Cedric. Tristan insisted on driving his 'baby'. Lilly and Tyler sat in the back seat while Cedric rode shotgun with Tristan. It was a fun ride, full of laughter and teasing. Tristan and Tyler were teasing Cedric about his gold dust and how, with his attractant, he still couldn't find a mate. These people were Lilly's family and she was more happy in that moment than she had ever thought was possible.
Lilly was growing excited, the longer they were on the road. She had no clue where they were going, and she would glance out the window in anticipation. They finally arrived in a nearby city. There were sizeable buildings that shadowed over their vehicle as they drove through. She was leaning up now so she could peer out the front window, trying to catch of glimpse of their destination. When the truck pulled around the bend, they pulled into a big open lot. That was when Lilly saw it. There was an amusement park in the distance, and they were driving right towards it. Lilly turned to look at Tyler, who was grinning back towards her. Her eyes were dancing with excitement. This was better than anything she could have thought of. It was pure fun and was exactly what she needed. She had been to the carnival a few times with Aaron before, but she hadn't had much time for fun lately. Not between studying to become a doctor and then her new venture as a mate... and as a fairy princess.
"This is going to be so much fun!" Lilly squealed as she bounced back into Tyler's side.
He chuckled and wrapped his arm tightly around her. He wanted to plan something fun for her where she could let loose and just be herself. Who doesn't like the chance to feel like a kid again? Today she was not a Princess or a Luna... she could be just Lilly.
"AHHHHHH!" Lilly yelled, as the roller coaster descended from the slow agonizing climb. Her body was pressed tightly into Tyler's while the roller coaster tossed them around the track. The two were laughing as they exited the coaster, though Cedric and Caleb looked less then amused.
"Don't tell me you are afraid of heights?" Tristan scowled as he looked back at Cedric and Caleb.
"It's not the heights... it's the falling." Cedric said with a grimace.
"I'm not afraid of heights... but man did that make my stomach flip." Caleb held his stomach looking a bit green.
"Aww... we were going to go and get some snacks too." Lilly frowned as she looked at Caleb, who suddenly appeared to be back in the game.
"I'm in!" Caleb cheered as Avery gently nudged his side.
"See, you are just being a baby. It isn't that bad." Avery teased as she lovingly pecked his cheek. He smiled warmly and tucked her deep into his embrace. Everyone could see how crazy they were about each other.
"Let's do the go carts. I will race you fools." Kade said as he pointed excitedly in the distance.
Cedric smirked and looked at Kade. "You think you have what it takes, turtle?"
Tyler and Tristan instantly locked eyes with each other. They wouldn't miss an opportunity to compete. "I wonder if bears are faster on the track then what they are as an animal." Tyler grinned. His wolf was faster than Tristan's bear. One had power while the other had speed.
"I guess we will find out pup." Tristan pumped his fist in his hand, getting himself jacked up.
"Don't feel too bad guys... someone has to come in last place." Caleb beamed widely, as he got a cast of looks from the other men.
"Avery and I will go get some snacks for when you are finished." Lilly pointed in the direction of the concession stands.
"Toots and I aren't getting involved in your need to pump testosterone battle. You know Lilly, it is silly. They act all big and bad, but if you would give them a harsh look, you could hear the lot of them whimpering from miles away." Avery giggled, as she walked up to Lilly.
"I'm going to need a basket of fries and two cheeseburgers for my victory feast." Tyler pecked Lilly on the lips as he declared his upcoming victory.
"That's a pup's snack. I need four corn dogs and a batch of onion rings for my victory feast." Tristan smirked as another competition began to brew.
"Ah ah ah. Stop. We are not competing to see who can eat the most. We will get a spread of things." Lilly reached her finger up to Tyler's lips to stop him from countering Tristan. He smiled and gently nipped at her fingers.
Tyler winked at her and the guys walked off towards their speedy battle. There was no second place, only the first loser and up. All of them had their eyes on one prize... and that was victory.
Avery and Lilly were chatting happily as they approached the food court. The two had become best friends and it was a friendship they both had craved. Avery could come off as a bit abrasive, even though she wasn't much of a fighter as a werewolf, and girls avoided her because of it. Lilly loved her tongue in cheek ways and felt a closeness with her that she had always craved.
The girls ordered enough food for an army and had to have some of the employees help them take it to a table.
"A lot of food for you two pretty ladies." One of the young men said, eyeing the two girls with interest.
"We are here with a big group. Trust me, they are going to smash this." Lilly giggled, knowing the appetites of the savage animals that were with her.
"Any of them your boyfriends?" The other man said. His eyes were fixated on Avery intently as he took her sight in.
"Yes, we both have our boyfriends with us." Avery smiled. She didn't mind having the attention as long as it stopped there.
"How committed are you to your boyfriend?" The first young man said as his hazel eyes met with the emerald ones of Lilly's.
"Sorry, I am pretty crazy about him. There are plenty of other single young girls here though, that I'm sure you will have luck with." Lilly was politely encouraging him to look elsewhere. Lilly could feel that Kira seemed agitated with these young men, but as far as she was concerned, they hadn't done anything to cross the line. They were just showing interest. There was no crime in that.
He gave her a small smile and then glanced around. "The good ones are always already taken. Sure, there is quantity here... but very few are quality. Like you. Enjoy your meal." He took a few steps away and waited for his other co-worker to follow. Lilly turned and saw that Avery was looking uncomfortable now. The other man was standing close to her and was piercing into her with his eyes. They looked a bit possessive staring at her.
"I would recommend leaving soon. Not that we can't handle ourselves, but her boyfriend is possessive. I don't think he would appreciate your close proximity to her... I know I don't." Lilly's green eyes bore into him with evident disdain for the man.
The man snapped his gaze over to Lilly with irritation. Lilly watched as the man tried to appear intimidating, she couldn't stop the smirk that spread over her lips. This was a simple human; he didn't smell like a werewolf. Most humans were blissfully unaware of the existence of anything but themselves. He might be a guy, but he was a human guy. No match for a female werewolf. Though Avery wasn't a fighter and she had not developed the means to push her werewolf strength forward. Lilly had though. She has been in fights, killed, and had been able to push her werewolf strength forward since she was young. Intimidate her? Pfft.
"You look like you don't like me?" The man straightened himself up and looked over Lilly. He let his eyes wander over her body as he licked his lip doing so.
"I don't know you." Lilly walked in front of Avery to protect her friend. "I do know that she doesn't like you being so close to her. I also know that you are going to be in a bad situation if you are still here when our boyfriends get back." The guys openly scoffed.
"Come on man, we need to get back to work. Take the hint." The other employee urged him.
The guy smiled down at Lilly. "Why didn't you just say you were jealous and wanted the attention all to yourself? I can oblige you." His lips were pulled up as he looked over the beauty in front of him. He reached his hand out towards her. Lilly stood there looking at him defiantly. All but daring him to continue. She would lay him down flat. The opportunity was gone. The blur in front of her. The man laying on the ground. The blood trickling from his nose. The hush of the crowds. Meddling guy. Took away her opportunity.
